** Its location in Kamurocho in the year 2000 is under heavy rennovation/reconstruction, while in 2019 it is instead replaced by a newly-built police station, as part of Ryo Aoki's "Kamurocho 3K Plan" campaign to reduce crime in the city.

* DoingItForTheArt: The English dub, for the most part, is a half-dub that keeps nonessential voices in Japanese. The exception is the likes of Yuki and Koyuki from ''0'' and ''Kiwami 2'', respectively, as depicted in the Company Management sidequest, whom are fully dubbed despite not being all that important here. Neither of them appear in the main game, and, since they're only part of an optional [=DLC=] that only gives top tier workers for the Business Sidequest, they could've just been kept in Japanese. In fact, it's such an out there occurrence for something so easily missable that some have argued this may be a sign the [=HD=] releases might gain English dub [=DLC=] sometime down the line.

** Creator/ZachAguilar as Kume. When you think of him, you're probably thinking either [[Manga/OnePunchMan Genos]], [[Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure Koichi]], or [[VideoGame/FireEmblemThreeHouses Male!Blyeth]]... all of which are heroic characters. Kume couldn't be any further from these guys, being bar none one of, if not the biggest [[HateSink Hate Sinks]] in the ''Yakuza'' series since [[VideoGame/Yakuza1 Jingu]] or [[VideoGame/Yakuza6 Iwami]], which is pretty impressive on his part.

* FanNickname:
** Japanese [[Series/TheEricAndreShow Eric Andre]] (or alternatively, Ichi Andre) for Ichiban. Considering the [[AfroAsskicker 'fro]] that he's sporting on his head, it's hard not to see the resemblance.
** Japanese Hercules and [[VideoGame/SuperMarioBros Wario]] for Tendo largely in part because of his heroic build and NonStandardCharacterDesign, respectively.
** Korean [[VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIII Lightning]] or Korean [[VideoGame/DevilMayCry Trish]] for Seong-Hui. She's essentially the latter without the ActionGirl traits, and is also the HyperCompetentSidekick to the Ijin Three, being the one who keeps the peace. The fact that she works with Joon-gi Han (a.k.a, Korean Vergil) is also icing on the cake. Like Lightning, Seong-Hui also has a smooth and sultry contralto and, well, pink hair, of course.
** Joon-Gi Han, just like in ''Yakuza 6'', continues to be called Korean Vergil in this game. The fact that he's TheStoic of the group and his fighting style being very methodical and to-the-point really doesn't help his case. Though some have also christened him with Korean Dante due to [[spoiler:being a body double (twin) to the original Joon-Gi Han of ''6''.]]
** Zhao seems to be christened with Chinese Creator/JohnnyDepp due to his flamboyant fashion choice and similar stubble. That, and Chinese [[VideoGame/Persona5 Akechi]] [[Creator/RobbieDaymond for obvious reasons.]] He's also been called Chinese Majima, since, as the psychotic, less heroic foil to the main character, he's basically Majima 2.0 in some ways.

* NoDubForYou: Averted. Without counting ''VideoGame/{{Judgment}}'', this will be the first time a mainline ''Yakuza'' game will be dubbed in English since the release of the first game more than a decade ago.

** Creator/GregChun and Creator/MatthewMercer previously starred in ''VideoGame/{{Judgment}}'' as main protagonist Takayuki Yagami and police detective Mitsuru Kuroiwa, respectively, prior to their roles as Yu Namba and Goro Majima here.
