Removed a section on "Creator Backlash" saying that Tom Mc Gillis has admitted to regretting hiring Ed Mac Donald. Whilst a fair amount of this page is uncited, I am removing this specifically due to this being incredibly unlikely to have actually have happened due to it being beyond unprofessional. Additionally, Sundae Muddy Sundae, which Ed Mac Donald wrote, is a good contender for the most universally hated episode of Total Drama, leading to some TD fans singling him out. ** Total Drama was Creator/Teletoon's highest rated show of all time when it debuted on the channel in the summer of 2007, so it should come as no surprise that the network was quick to order new seasons and transform the show into their biggest franchise once they got word of the first season's huge success in the United States. Throughout the late 2000s and early 2010s, Teletoon gave Total Drama plenty of healthy airings at accessible hours for its audience, lots of visible advertising, opportunities for young viewers to interact with the show (see here and here), and even cross-promotion of the series with other shows like WesternAnimation/Stoked (see here) and WesternAnimation/Skatoony (where the contestants appear as guest characters). Even after Total Dramas abrupt end, WesternAnimation/TotalDramaRama was promoted under the impression kids would already be familiar with the parent series (see here and here). To put it simply, it's safe to say that Total Drama is the biggest success story to have come out of Teletoon ever.

Even after Total Dramas abrupt end, initial run ended, WesternAnimation/TotalDramaRama was promoted under the impression kids would already be familiar with the parent series (see here and here). To put it simply, it's safe to say that Total Drama is the biggest success story to have come out of Teletoon ever.

* OnlySoManyCanadianActors: Under Canadian content law, Total Drama can only use Canadian voice actors in its production. Given the series' large cast, even early on, it's quite impressive that Fresh used as many Canadian actors and actresses as they did, although some did play multiple roles.
