** One major criticism about the GSN version of the show is that for no reason at all, the show would occasionally preview the next segment when they go to commercial. While they keep it vague enough, a keen eye and good sense can tell when they focus on the set and the player(s) actively spoiling parts of the show. The ABC version does not have this.

** A major complaint of the ABC version's first season was that the three Chasers didn't feel like real villains (with the possible exception of Holzhauer) and that none of them had the charm of Mark "The Beast" Labbett had in the GSN version. Come Season 2, and The Beast joins the crew as a Chaser to much fanfare.

* MarathonRunning: Beginning in 2015, Challenge has began to air marathons of the series to celebrate major holidays.
** On Christmas Eve 2015, the show ran all-day, with the exception of a few episodes of ''Bullseye'' airing before midnight.
** An all-day marathon ran from 6:00am-8:00pm on Christmas Day 2016, while another one ran from 6:00am-6:00pm two days later. Another 14-hour marathon ran on New Year's Day 2017.
** On Good Friday 2017, the channel had a marathon of the show titled ''The Chase Key Moments'', which aired from 6:00am-5:00pm. The show aired all-day on Easter Sunday as well, from 6:00am-6:00pm.
** For Christmas Day 2017, Challenge had a 72-hour ''Merry Chasemas'' marathon which ran for all of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
** For Easter 2018, A 96-hour marathon aired all easter weekend. In fact, they even lampshaded this trope in their April Fools Joke that year by saying that the channel would be renamed to “Chase TV”.
** During December 24, 2018-January 1, 2019, a 10-hour marathon would air from 12:00pm-10:00pm, after a 5-hour marathon of another game show. On the last 2 days, an hour was swiped away from ''The Chase'', ending the Marathon at 9:00pm.
** For the Easter Week of 2019, the show aired all day from 6:00am-10:00pm followed on with a ''Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'' Marathon from 10:00pm-6:00am. The Saturday before Easter Sunday though, the show only aired from 6:00am-5:00pm, with other shows airing afterward.
** On the 26th of August, nothing but the celebrity specials aired all day on Challenge.
** Christmas 2019:

*** Easter Monday was similar to Good Friday, as the show aired after an ''All-Star Family Fortunes'' marathon from 1:00pm-10:00pm, with an episode of ''Pointless Celebrities'' in the middle of the marathon at 6:00pm.
** Christmas 2020:
*** Despite not being a full day's worth of episodes, this marathon just so happened to last '''LONGER''' than the Christmas 2017 and Easter 2018 marathons, as from December 21st until January 1st, the show had a 16-hour marathon everyday from 7:00am-11:00pm. The only other shows on air those days were Bullseye and Weakest Link reruns during the graveyard hours, with Wheel of Fortune reruns on the following week. * EnforcedMethodActing: Not necessarily "acting", but the writers were fully aware of Bradley Walsh's juvenile sense of humor and never lost an opportunity to try and make him crack up with DoubleEntendre-laced questions. This is probably partially why he didn't figured out [[Creator/AntAndDec Ant & Dec]] were pranking him once again in 2020.
* InMemoriam: The ABC version started with an intro dedicating the show’s run to Creator/AlexTrebek.
*** The first four episodes and a few celebrity specials aired on Christmas Eve from 12:00pm-9:00pm, only being interrupted by an airing of the Roy Walker hosted TV special ''UK's Greatest Gameshows'' in the middle of the marathon.
*** An all-day marathon aired on Christmas Day, where the main show and the Celebrity Specials aired from 7:00am-10:00pm.
*** For Boxing Day, the show aired from 12:00pm-4:00pm. After a ''Family Fortunes'' marathon the next day, the channel went back to it's usual schedule.
*** Another all-day marathon of the show aired on New Year's Day 2020.
** Easter 2020:
*** A marathon of the celebrity specials aired from 2:00-10:00pm on Good Friday, while ''All-Star Family Fortunes'' and ''Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?'' marathons lerk in-between.
*** A 9-hour marathon aired from 7:00am-4:00pm on Easter Saturday, while Easter Sunday had the usual 7:00am-10:00pm slot.
Overall, this marathon (excluding the Chase episodes outside the marathon) lasted over '''192 hours'''.
* ScrewedByTheNetwork: Despite strong ratings, the American version was cancelled by GSN in early 2016 with no explanation given. Challenge also doesn't air this series as much as the UK version and as of 2020 it has been taken off the station in favor of them continuing to over adore the UK version.
* YouMightRememberMeFrom: One contestant from the episode dated 24 November 2020 was Rosalind, who made a memorable appearance on ''Series/{{Taskmaster}}'' as the eponymous stranger from the “song for a stranger” task.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: ''Series/{{Jeopardy}}'' champion Brad Rutter was featured as a Chaser in the first pilot episode of the US version, but was removed after Fox rejected the pilot and GSN took it up. British host Bradley Walsh hosted that pilot, and Dan Patrick from ESPN and NBC Sports fame was considered before Brooke Burns was hired. Subverted with the 2020 announcement of Rutter as one of three Chasers in the ABC revival.
** According to TheOtherWiki, the producers for the GSN version were so in awe of James Holzhauer's knowledge that they auditioned him to be the second chaser, but the show was cancelled soon after. Like Brad, he was tapped as a chaser for the ABC version.
