* AllegedlyFreeGame: All SSC games by ''Budge Studios''. They start you off with a basic set of one or two characters, then demand anywhere between US$5 and US$20 for the other characters and additional accessories.

* EditedForSyndication: Aside from the 45-minute unedited versions licensed to local home video producers, the first four episodes are available from the syndication office in either 22-minute edits (in which they lose half their songs and story content) or split into 2-part episodes (in which a big glaring "To Be Continued" appears at the end of the first part). Additionally, the DVD releases of subsequent episodes include an additional prologue, bridge, epilogue and an additional music video that adds scenes to join two episodes together.
* FanNickname / PortmanteauSeriesNickname - SBSC / SSC

** Subverted with Season 4 of the 2003/2007 series. Season 4 was not brought in by Kewlopolis and the DVD release of the 2003/2007 series became erratic shortly after the rights transferred from Playmates and DiC to Hasbro and Moonscoop, which had many fans worrying that the releases will grind to a halt before all episodes could be pushed out on DVD. However, one thing that did '''not''' happen was the 2003/2007 releases grinding to a halt, and in March 2012, almost 5 years later, the last unreleased pair of episodes went out on DVD.

** The 2003 series: A somewhat convoluted version -- ''Ice Cream Island Riding Camp'' for the UsefulNotes/GameBoyAdvance and the PC port of ''The Sweet Dreams Game'' for the [=PS2=] got an Europe-only release. Also, [=PS2=] version of the Sweet Dreams Game never got an NTSC/J release in Asia despite the show's popularity in the region.

** Any post-season-1 episodes in the 2009 series is this to Malaysia, since the show, like ''WesternAnimation/CareBearsAdventuresInCareALot'', ended up on Boomerang, which is not available in several countries worldwide.
** The 2003 episodes are seeing re-releases on LeapFrog's app center for the [=LeapPad=] Explorer and Leapster Explorer series of kiddie consoles. Live in Asia, Latin and South America (the three areas where the version of the show is most popular) or an area of Europe outside of the UK? Sorry, the title is only available to the US, Canada, UK, Australia and New Zealand. American Greetings and friends are definitely working to screw over the biggest fans of the series.
* TheOtherDarrin: Huckleberry Pie, Honey Pie Pony and Custard's voice actors were replaced after the first season.

** Not by The Hub, but by Cartoon Network, which somehow acquired the rights to air programming featuring Hasbro's characters in most regions outside North America. Arguably, Cartoon Network's action of putting the show on it's sister channel, Boomerang, instead of on the main Cartoon Network channel itself, qualifies for this trope. Not only is Boomerang not as widely available worldwide as it's older sibling (to the point that there are countries in the world that have cable providers that do carry Cartoon Network but not Boomerang), in countries that do have both, Boomerang is typically a premium size-up package pay channel while the main Cartoon Network channel itself is a basic package pay channel. This severely limits the availability of the show.
** After much pressure (remember that SSC has a berry, berry strong fanbase in Malaysia), Cartoon Network has agreed to air SSC:BBA on the main channel in addition to Boomerang. However, the episodes are not only one whole season behind Boomerang, they're aired at an ungodly time of '''6 AM''', with no repeats- it only gets one slot for the whole day (It airs twice a day on Boomerang, and at more reasonable times too). And after they completed season one, it's just... gone. No follow up with Season 2 and newer episodes. Comparatively, CN airs their CashCowFranchise ''WesternAnimation/{{Ben 10}}'' and other Ben 10 related shows about 10 times a day, and lots of old classic shorts and originals reruns that belong on Boomerang in the first place. If that's not being ''screwed by the network'', I don't know what is.
*** Now, Boomerang has shut down. However, instead of moving the show to the main channel, Cartoon Network Asia did it again- quietly launching Cartoonito, then putting the show on said channel. Cartoonito is currently only available on one provider each in Thailand, The Philippines, Indonesia and Hong Kong. Malaysia and Singapore? No chance.
* ShortRunInPeru: Season 4 aired in Europe two months before it aired in Asia. For the fate of the show in the U.S., see ''KeepCirculatingTheTapes'' and ''ScrewedByTheNetwork''.
* ShowAccuracyToyAccuracy: You'd think they'd keep Pupcake's "eyepatch" location, The characters' hair color, and other noticeable (and less-noticable) details consistent between the merchandise, books and TV series...

* HeyItsThatVoice:
** 1980s specials: Russi Taylor, best known these days as Minnie Mouse and [[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Martin Prince]], but nearly inescapable for any 80's cartoon watcher, is Strawberry Shortcake. This is actually her earliest listed voiceover credit at [=IMDb=].
*** Huckleberry Pie is (Creator/HannaBarbera's version of) WesternAnimation/CasperTheFriendlyGhost.
*** The Peculiar Purple Pieman of Porcupine Peak[[note]]Ya, ta-ta ta-ta ta-ta-ta, ta-ta, ta-ta ta![[/note]] is WesternAnimation/ThundarrTheBarbarian![[note]]This role actually predates Thundarr, however. According to the DVD release, the first special was recorded in 1979, premiering a year later in 1980.[[/note]]
** 2009 relaunch: The switch from the relatively low-key in-house voice actors of DiC to Creator/TheOceanGroup resulted in:
*** Creator/AnnaCummer is Strawberry Shortcake.
*** AndreaLibman is Lemon Meringue.
*** Orange Blossom is [[WesternAnimation/{{Trollz}} Snarf]].
*** Plum Pudding is [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Applejack and Rainbow Dash]].
*** Blueberry Muffin is [[WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic Princess Cadance]].
