* AdoredByTheNetwork: On one extent, ''Speed Buggy'' is one of the few cartoons that can say it aired on all three of the major networks, and two of them only as re-runs. This alone practically makes the show an ensemble favorite to Hanna-Barbera as a whole. For a one season show to be re-ran that much, just speaks to how well he was received.
* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer: While info on ''Speed Buggy'' in general is very good. One element often gets mentioned that is incorrect. Namely that some assume because Mark and Debbie look to fit the molds of Fred and Daphne from ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo'' that they fill the same roles. Namely that Mark is TheLeader and Debbie is the DamselInDistress. Neither of which are true. As Debbie is more TheLeader and the one with the more assertive attitude. Mark still had TheAllAmericanBoy thing going for him but still found himself bossed around by Debbie in several episodes.

* StockSoundEffects: well, ''Recycled'' would be a better term. The rumbling sound of Speed Buggy's engine was the same noises Creator/MelBlanc used for [[RadioTheJackBennyProgram Jack Benny's]] [[TheAllegedCar 1928 Maxwell]].

* FollowTheLeader: ''Speed Buggy'' followed on Hanna-Barbera's meddling kids trend. The main cast follows roles similar to (but not exactly like [[note]]In direct comparison, Tinker and Speedy both have a very similar dynamic to Shaggy and Scooby. Debbie is the actual leader of this group, so technically you could say she is designed to look like Daphne but has the Fred role. Mark is designed to look like Fred but he himself is not the straight guy leader that Fred was. Mark is playing the Daphne & Velma to Debbie's Fred. While Tinker is the smart guy, he's also the coward. There are similarities but not close enough to be expies.[[/note]]) characters from ''Franchise/ScoobyDoo'', but the plots are more akin to ''WesternAnimation/JosieAndThePussycats''.

Later on Tinker's voice is taken over by Creator/FrankWelker on ''WesternAnimation/LaffALympics'' and is distinctly neither the first or second Tinker voices.

** In a way, Debbie at her time was a fairly progressive HB character that wore the pants to her group. While it is often said Scooby Doo's Daphne matured into a leader, she really became a lot more like Debbie. But because of the above implications, Debbie's place in history is more obscured than it should be.
