Added DiffLines:

* BTeamSequel: The games were developed by Creator/Dimps with Creator/SonicTeam in a supervisory role. Dimps would go on to develop many of the handheld Sonic games, including adapted versions of the console games, as well as VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog4.
* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Despite their success on the UsefulNotes/GameBoyAdvance, the trilogy as a whole has seen very few rereleases past it. Advance would see a couple of ports on the Nokia and Android (the former being hard to find and the latter being exclusive to Japan, with both not being very good anyway), while Advance 2 and Advance 3 would not see any rereleases until they (and the first game) were rereleased on the Wii U Virtual Console in 2015 and 2016, albeit only in Japan. It isn't clear as to why these games haven't been rereleased; it was speculated that it was due to legality rights with THQ and Atari SA (formerly Infogrames), who published the games in North America and Europe respectively, but this has been heavily disputed.THQ Nordic has stated twice that they don't own the publishing rights to the Advance games, if they ever did in the first place, and Infogrammes didn't even stay as distributor for the series in Europe as THQ took over for the 2-in-1 rereleases and the 3rd instalment. Neither company is acknowledged in the credits of the games, the N-Gage port or whenever Advance is referenced in modern media like the Encyclo-speed-ia. Regardless, unless you had access to the Japanese Wii U [=eShop=] (which is now down), the only easy way to play the trilogy legally as of right now is by obtaining the original carts. Fortunately, used copies are still very easy to obtain.
* NoExportForYou: The Wii U Virtual Console re-releases are exclusive to the Japanese [=eShop=]. The Android port of the first game is only available through the [=PuyoSega=] subscription service, which is exclusive to Japan.
* NoPortForYou: The Android version of the first game did not receive an iOS counterpart.
* RefittedForSequel: Neo Green Hill was originally intended to be the title for Aquatic Ruin in VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog2 before it was changed in later builds. The title would go on to be used for the first zone in Advance.
* ScrewedByTheLawyers: Due to the music rights being owned by Masato Nakamura, the Android port of Advance replaced the Sonic 1 & 2 boss remixes in X-Zone with music from VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog4, and the invincibility theme with Advances opening music (coincidentally, the opening itself was cut in this port).
