* CowboyBebopAtHisComputer:
** A minor one occurs in the ''[[VideoGame/PokemonGoldAndSilver Pokémon Generation 2]]'' review not from Johnny, but from Ryan, when the three (Ted was there too) question some evolution methods. Ryan takes a potshot at ''[[VideoGame/PokemonDiamondAndPearl Generation 4]]'' for the use of trade evolutions... ''which have existed since the beginning of the series and appeared in every generation''. Worse still, this was said when the Porygon line was shown onscreen, with Porygon reaching its first evolution by trade ''in the very generation they're reviewing''.
** In his ''Sonic '06'' review, when he gets to Shadow defeating Mephiles years prior to the game's plot beginning, he says that it contradicts Shadow's backstory of being asleep while that was happening. Other than the game being a ContinuityReboot (which even he brings up), the game, obviously, presents this part of the story as part of a StableTimeLoop, since Shadow doesn't remember doing it before he does it.
** Another minor one, but Johnny says that every power up from Crash 3 returns in The Wrath of Cortex except for the Super Belly Flop. It actually is in the game, requiring the player to make it to the end of the Red Gem Route in the Coco level, Banzai Bonsai.

** Johnny prefers to record video game footage directly from the original source (NES, Sega Genesis, etc.) because he feels that it captures the authenticity of the game point for point. Johnny isn't above using an emulator if it's not possible for him to record the original source, such as recording the Famicom version of ''VideoGame/CastlevaniaIIIDraculasCurse'' on an emulator because he doesn't own a Famicom.
** Johnny is willing to do LetsPlay of games that are either NintendoHard or bad in order to show people that he's willing to put up with something difficult or bad so that the better games in the series are appreciated even more. As Johnny's friend, Matt, said once, "You have to take the good with the bad."
** All of Johnny's reviews and LetsPlays are done sorely for the art and entertainment for his fans. In the rare moments where Johnny can't do any games he had scheduled with Elliot and/or Matt, he comes up with a random game to play for the channel so that his audience will have something to watch instead of waiting for the schedule to get back on track.
** Most of the games and series Johnny does reviews for are ones where he either genuinely wanted to take a look at or received numerous fan requests to do. He's done occasional sponsored videos or received early review copies from developers, but he always makes sure to mention this in the video so that fans can be assured the rest of his videos aren't the same way.

* BuryYourArt: Johnny has admitted he hates the quality of many of the earliest SGB reviews done for the channel, such as the original ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure'' review that had all of its in-game footage recorded with a camcorder. He also feels that his opinions on certain games having greatly shifted since then. Although a few of them were taken down due to copyright claims, he also stated that he personally either deleted some of them himself or decided not to reupload them afterwards due to thinking they really were that bad.

* CreatorBacklash: Many of the earliest SGB reviews done for the channel, such as the original ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure'' review that had all of its in-game footage recorded with a camcorder, are no longer available on the channel due to Johnny's opinions on the videos (and even the games themselves) changing with time due to him improving as a content creator.
