(To be fair, Creator/NickLang made it clear that all of Starkid's plans were up in the air until there were some definitive answers about the trajectory of the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic and whether it would be responsible to start having in-person gatherings again, something that as of August 2021 is also still up in the air.)
** Very shortly after the above was posted, Starkid fans rejoiced to see announcements on social media that scripts for Season 2 had been emailed out to the cast, and S2 is tentatively expected to come out before 2021 is over.

** In response to people asking why Linda Monroe hasn't had a story yet, Creator/NickLang revealed Linda is actually one of his favorite characters and the ''Nightmare Time'' story he wrote for her is actually the ''first'' story he wrote for this series, but he's holding it back because it's one of the stories he hopes to be able to actually fully produce and film after the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic is over.

** Nick Lang has tentatively announced that Season Two of ''Nightmare Time'' is planned to release in Spring 2021 with four episodes, with the final episode being a [[ExtraLongEpisode double-length single story]] rather than DoubleFeature serving as the GrandFinale for the season.
** He also added that the first two written stories that gave him and Matt the idea for ''Nightmare Time'' were in fact intended to be actually filmed, and are still being held back in case they get the opportunity to film after the UsefulNotes/COVID19Pandemic ends, with the intention of putting out a feature-length {{Anthology}} movie of ''Nightmare Time'' short films. (And all of the current ''Nightmare Time'' stories are the ones they came up with that they would've under normal circumstances discarded as unfilmable.)
** To build up hype for Season Two of ''Nightmare Time'', Nick made several announcements in an interview:
*** Emma is one of the returning characters, as is Linda Monroe (although the story Linda stars in won't be one of the Season Two entries), and in general the already-known cast of Hatchetfield will be a constant presence throughout the new season.
*** Nick's also indicated he's heard [[WordOfSaintPaul Jaime Lyn Beatty's]] desire to let Charlotte have ADayInTheLimelight as the protagonist of a ''Nightmare Time'' episode that explores her hinted-at HiddenDepths and there will be such an episode forthcoming.
*** The new season will bring Becky back into the spotlight and explore the NoodleIncident of why exactly she climbed up a tree and stayed there for two days as a child.
*** New character Ziggs ''is'' going to appear, and star in their own story. (And will, as promised, be played by a [[QueerCharacterQueerActor non-binary actor]].) This story isn't one of the scrapped stories from the original plans for Season One but a new story written after Ziggs was conceived.
*** The Season Two SeasonFinale started out as an ordinary ''Nightmare Time'' story that grew too much in scope to fit within an hour-long script. It is ''not'' meant as the GrandFinale to the Hatchetfield series as a whole, although Nick hopes it's suitably grand in scale to serve as a good SeasonFinale.

* ProductionPosse: As a SpinOff of the Hatchetfield series, ''Nightmare Time'' is produced entirely by veterans from ''Theatre/TheGuyWhoDidntLikeMusicals'' and ''Theatre/BlackFriday'', with the script written by the Creator/LangBrothers and songs by Creator/JeffBlim just like the stage shows, and the cast the entire combined cast of both shows (although with some {{Absentee Actor}}s rotating in and out of each episode, as is typical for an {{anthology}} series). The Zoom livestreams have live {{Improv}} accompaniment by Matt Dahan, who was the bandleader and musical director for the stage shows, and the technical director for the stream is longtime Starkid set designer/producer Corey Lubowich.
