* AscendedFanNickname: Following the Better Together Update that brought a unified platform to ''Minecraft'' on phones, Windows 10, Gear VR, Fire TV, and Xbox One, [[https://minecraft.wiki/ Minecraft Wiki]] editors opted to name this version of ''Minecraft'' "Bedrock Edition", after the name of the Bedrock Engine used across the platforms. Subsquently, the term would be later picked up my Mojang employees, until June 7, 2022, when ''Bedrock Edition'' became officially used as a title, when a bundle with ''Java Edition'' was announced.

* PetFadStarter: A notable increase in people getting axolotls as pets in the 2020s was partly attributed to axolotls being added to ''Minecraft'' as aquatic mobs in 2021. They were especially popular with kids, who not only make up a significant portion of the ''Minecraft'' player base but are understandably drawn to axolotls for their cute and colourful appearances; some parents were persuaded to get their kids axolotls due to them being perceived as relatively easy and safe pets. Unfortunately, this fad also resulted in many axolotls ending up in animal shelters due to people not doing thorough research or underestimating the amount of care axolotls need; they have complex care requirements and require a lot of work to keep them healthy and happy (to the point they're not usually considered suitable pets for young kids).

** C418's departure as the game's composer (as well as the lack of his music in ''VideoGame/SuperSmashBrosUltimate'') is heavily implied to be a result of his refusal to sign over the publishing rights to his music to Microsoft.
