It was implied that Cheetah was killed by Solomon Grundy in "Injustice For All", but when the animators mistakenly drew her being arrested at the end of the episode, it was simply easier to say she was alive.alive.
** The budding relationship between Diana and Bruce was due to the surprise fan reaction to "The Brave and the Bold" where Woman gives Batman an affectionate kiss on the cheek (he believed she was crushed by a missile and desperately tried digging her out, when she turned up fine she noticed his dirty gloves and could tell he really does care). This came back around with a FakeOutMakeOut in "Starcrossed" and EveryoneCanSeeIt in the JLU phase.
** The reveal in "Epilogue" that came from a discussion on how unlikely it was to have a dark hair son with two red-headed parents.

** The show had been pitched as far back in the '90s, a number of concept pieces showing up online. One early idea would've had no Batman (as his solo series was still airing at the time), and included varied characters like Supergirl, Vixen, Lightray, Comicbook/BlackLightning, Nightshade (who would've sported a Comicbook/Psylocke-inspired redesign), Mister Miracle and Doctor Fate.

** Another early concept piece showed a line-up consisting of Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Lantern (who would've worn a mask), Aquaman (who would've sported his classic design instead of his hook-handed one from the '90s), Hawkman, Green Arrow and Black Canary. Hawkgirl was apparently planned as well.

* PostScriptSeason: The second season of Justice League was written as a potential GrandFinale, making JLU something of a post script SequelSeries. The second season of JLU was also intended to be the wrap up, hence the BookEnds with "Epilogue." After wrapping up so many storylines, the only place left to go was the LegionOfDoom. They also took the opportunity to tap into the deepest pools of the DCU, including ComicBook/Hawkman, ComicBook/TheWarlord and DeadMan.

* HeyItsThatVoice: Well, there's Creator/Newbern, Creator/Conroy, Creator/Eisenberg, Creator/Rosenbaum, Creator/LaMarr, Creator/Lumbly, and Creator/CanalsBarrera. But additionally, they reused a variety of voice actors. Considering how massive the cast got in Unlimited, many of the regulars voiced side characters or background chatter.
** John C. McGinley voicing The Atom
** Creator/MichaelIronside returns as ComicBook/Darkseid.
** Creator/MichaelDorn returns as Kalibak (reprising the role and he had voiced ComicBook/Steel on WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries).
** Creator/EdwardAsner is and returns as Granny Goodness
** Robert Picardo as [=AMAZO=].
** Keith David as Despero.
** Creator/RobertEnglund as Felix Faust, Creator/JeffreyCombs as ComicBook/TheQuestion.
** Pretty much the entire cast of Series/Firefly.
** And, well, just see the pages for WesternAnimation/SupermanTheAnimatedSeries and WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries, as most of their voices ended up here too, plus so many more mainstream celebs that a full list would fill half this page.
** Skeets, Comicbook/BoosterGold's robot sidekick, is voiced by Creator/BillyWest, in pretty much the exact same voice the actor uses for Fry.
** A bit of an homage too, but Creator/MarkHamill reprised his role as The Trickster from the short-lived live action Series/TheFlash TV series. In addition to reprising the roles of the Trickster and SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker, he's also Solomon Grundy.
** SelfDemonstrating/TheJoker's new gang in "Wild Cards" are all voiced by the WesternAnimation/TeenTitans actors. It is really kind of weird.
** Creator/JenniferHale voiced Black Siren, Giganta, Killer Frost, Zatanna, and Inza.
** Hale's VideoGame/KnightsOfTheOldRepublic and Franchise/MassEffect co-star, Creator/RaphaelSbarge, voiced Deadman.
** Peri Gilpin as Volcana.
** Creator/AmyAcker, best known as Fred and Illyria, was the Huntress.
** Giselle Loren, who voiced Buffy in the video game of Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer was Stargirl.
** Alexis "Wesley" Denisof was Mirror Master.
** Creator/JulietLandau was Tala, it's like the writers watched both series and picked and chose their favorites for the roles.
** Gary Cole is Senator J. Allen Carter in "Secret Origins".
** In "In Blackest Night", the prosecutor is Creator/KurtwoodSmith, Kanjar-Ro is Rene "Odo" Auberjonois taking a turn at breaking the law rather than enforcing it, and the head Manhunter is James Remar.
*** And later, James Remar would voice Hawkman and Shadow Thief and--though TheOtherDarrin as far as the DCAU is concerned--Rene Auberjonois would reprise his role on WesternAnimation/SuperFriends as Dessad.
** In "Starcrossed" (and then "Hunter's Moon", and Reincarnation after a fashion "Ancient History"), Lt. Kragger is Ioz--much less Rogue, though.
** In "Metamorphosis" the CorruptCorporateExecutive villain is voiced by Earl Boen, who sound a lot like [[VideoGame/MonkeyIsland [=LeChuck=]]] when he's being scheming, or even Mr. Bleakman.
** Hawk and Dove are voiced by Fred Savage and Jason Hervey, previously known as Kevin and Wayne Arnold on Series/TheWonderYears. Except Wayne's playing the pacifist now; originally, their roles were supposed to reflect their roles on Series/TheWonderYears, but the actors decided to switch.
** Creator/DakotaFanning plays young Wonder Woman in "Kid's Stuff".
** "The Once and Future Thing, Part 1: Weird Western Tales" was filled with this. Creator/Baldwin "Jayne / Casey" Baldwin was ComicBook/JonahHex, Ben "John Crichton / Cameron Mitchell" Browder was Bat Lash, Jonathan "John Redcorn" Joss was Ohiyesa Smith, Creator/Carbonell "Richard Alpert / Batmanuel / Mayor Anothny Garica" Carbonell was El Diablo, and Ed "Kay" O'Ross was Tobias Manningstrike:/Terra-Man.
** Creator/LexLang was Heat Wave, Captain Cold, and Atomic Skull.
** Creator/KristenBauer was Mera.
** You can hear Zoe alongside Mal in "Hunter's Moon" and alongside Inara in "Grudge Match".
** Creator/WilliamAtherton is Dr. Destiny.
** Ari Gold is Ralph Dibny, ComicBook/ElongatedMan.
** Creator/JasonMarsden is Snapper Carr.
** Mirage is Paran Dul.
** Creator/JKSimmons is General Eiling.
** Creator/RobertEnglund is Felix Faust.
** Creator/IoanGruffudd, a.k.a. Reed Richards is Scott Free, a.k.a. Mister Miracle.
** Very brief, but a thug Hawkgirl and Green Lantern rough up in the "Warworld" 2-parter is voiced by Creator/IanJamesCorlett. His voice even sounds very close to Goku.
** Kin Shriner (Scotty Baldwin) is Green Arrow.
** Creator/KimMaiGuest is Katma Tui, Silver Banshee, and Linda Park.
** Creator/CCHPounder is Amanda Waller.
** Creator/PowersBoothe is Gorilla Grodd and ComicBook/RedTornado.
** Creator/DanielDaeKim is Metron.
** Creator/PhilMorris is Vandal Savage.

** When Franchise/TheFlash and SelfDemonstrating/LexLuthor swapped minds in "The Great Brain Robbery" the bodies kept their voice actors, so now Lex Luthor is being voiced by Creator/MichaelRosenbaum. Michael Rosenbaum played the role of Lex Luthor on Series/Smallville.
