*** Grodd sarcastically claiming to be Creator/CharltonHeston in the same episode is this as well as a Film/PlanetOfTheApes1986 reference. Grodd's voice actor, Creator/PowersBoothe, had previously worked with Heston in the western Film/Tombstone.

* OutOfOrder:
** During the first season, the producers held back the airing of "Injustice For All" eight months, so that it would coincide with the VideoGame with the same name. But since it did air elsewhere during that period, it didn't take long for spoilers and pirated copies to appear online. However, both "Fury" and "Legends" have have elements that didn't appear until "Injustice for All"."Fury" has its main villain gather the Injustice Gang sans Luthor, Joker, and Cheetah, with Shade and Copperhead commenting that she's a better boss than Luthor and "Legends" opens with Luthor in the PoweredArmor designed to save his life controlling a mecha against the League.
** Season 2, Everything between "A Better World" and "Starcrossed" has their airing order rearranged from their production order. "The Terror Beyond" and "Eclipsed" had their airing order swapped from their production order, as did "Hereafter" and "Secret Society", and "Comfort and Joy" and "Wild Cards". However, this doesn't really affect anything, even with Green Lantern and Hawkgirl's RelationshipUpgrade in "Wild Cards" despite "Comfort and Joy" being the episode before it in production order, but airing after.

* ThrowItIn: It was implied that Cheetah was killed by Solomon Grundy in "Injustice For All", but when the animators mistakenly drew her being arrested at the end of the episode, it was simply easier to say she was alive.

** The budding relationship between Diana and Bruce was due to the surprise fan reaction to "The Brave and the Bold" where Woman gives Batman an affectionate kiss on the cheek (he believed she was crushed by a missile and desperately tried digging her out, when she turned up fine she noticed his dirty gloves and could tell he really does care). This came back around with a FakeOutMakeOut in "Starcrossed" and EveryoneCanSeeIt in the JLU phase.
** The reveal in "Epilogue" that came from a discussion on how unlikely it was to have a dark hair son with two red-headed parents.

** Vigilante's voice Nathan Fillion plays a cowboy who lives in space. It's highlighted in at least one episode when he teams with Vixen, who's played by Gina Torres.

** The show had been pitched as far back in the '90s, a number of concept pieces showing up online. One early idea would've had no Batman (as his solo series was still airing at the time), and included varied characters like Supergirl, Vixen, Lightray, Comicbook/BlackLightning, Nightshade (who would've sported a Comicbook/Psylocke-inspired redesign), Mister Miracle and Doctor Fate.

Hawkgirl was apparently planned as well.

* PostScriptSeason: The second season of Justice League was written as a potential GrandFinale, making JLU something of a post script SequelSeries. The second season of JLU was also intended to be the wrap up, hence the BookEnds with "Epilogue." After wrapping up so many storylines, the only place left to go was the LegionOfDoom. They also took the opportunity to tap into the deepest pools of the DCU, including ComicBook/Hawkman, ComicBook/TheWarlord and DeadMan.
