* To western audiences, Tsuruya's obsession with cranes must be a little strange because she doesn't really show it in the actual series. Her obsession with cranes is actually from her name. Her name comes from a popular chain of hotels that utilize the crane as their symbol, due to "tsuru" being the Japanese word for "crane".
