** Creator/MikaelaKrantz, Creator/ColleenClinkenbeard, Creator/EricaMendez, and Creator/JadSaxton were fans of the series long before the 2019 anime cast them as Momiji, Akito, Satsuki and Hanajima respectively.

* AllStarCast: Both the 2001 and 2019 anime adaptations have featured a cast of well-known voice actors, including Creator/YuiHorie and Creator/ManakaIwami.

* HostilityOnTheSet: The 2001 anime's production turned out to be an unpleasant experience for Natsuki Takaya, who frequently clashed with Akitaroh Daichi's vision. It got to the point where Takaya and Daichi refused to work with each other.

* CrossdressingVoices: Yuki, Ritsu, and Hiro in Japanese (but not English); and Momiji in both English and Japanese. Technically, [[spoiler:Akito]] counts too, in both English and Japanese... but this could not even be anticipated, as the anime was made years before the revelation that he is a she. Averted with Yuki and Ritsu in the 2019 anime, where they're voiced by male voice actors.

Because of Natsuki Takaya's hand injury necessitating a leave of absence from the series, the 2001 anime would have done this had it continued any longer than it did. Even without overtaking the manga, the anime added an improvised ending that would later [[DisContinuity be contradicted by revelations in the manga]] (namely almost ''everything'' about Akito).

*** Meredith [=McCoy=], the original voice of Kagura Sohma, moved away to Thomasville, Georgia, in August 2018. As such, Creator/TiaBallard replaced her as the voice of Kagura.
