** It had been mentioned on ''Series/{{Cheers}}'' that Frasier's father was not only a scientist, but also dead. When Sam shows up for a guest-appearance and naturally questions Martin about this, Frasier clarifies that he and Martin had just had an argument where Martin called him a stuffed shirt and hung up on him, leading to him bitterly telling the rest of Cheers he was dead.
--->'''Sam:''' You're a cop? ''(to Frasier)'' You told me he was a research scientist.\\
''(Martin gives Frasier a DeathGlare)''\\
'''Frasier:''' You were ''dead'', what did it matter?!
** The season three finale "You Can Go Home Again" flashed back to Frasier arriving in Seattle in 1993, and there was no effort made to make the characters look like they did back in season one (Frasier lacking the skullet he had in the first two seasons is especially jarring). In later episodes that flashed back to that period, such as "The Return of Martin Crane" and "Crock Tales", the cast were given wardrobe changes and hairpieces/wigs to more closely resemble their younger selves. The quality of the efforts, however, is an entirely different subject.
** Season 10 is meant to build up to a love triangle between Fras, Roz and Julia, which concludes with a mixture of the IdiotBall and a KickTheDog moment where Roz quits KACL because she apparently has feelings for Frasier, then essentially throws a tantrum, demanding Frasier choose between her or Julia, and Frasier coldly chooses Julia. Not helping is that the apparent romantic tension between Frasier and Roz is so low it might as well be non-existent. The very first episode of season 11, with different writers, undoes all of this, and Roz's quitting KACL, and shoots down any notion she's attracted to Frasier.

The inspiration for the character came after the producers saw a headshot of David Hyde Pierce and noted his brotherly resemblance to Kelsey Grammer. According to Christopher Lloyd, prior to discovering Pierce, they’d considered giving Frasier a sister instead.

* DeletedScene: In "The 1000th Episode", when Martin and Daphne enter Cafe Nervosa, you can very briefly see Martin wearing a bright blue hat[[note]]when they are still in the doorway, at around 1:03[[/note]], but he's not wearing it anymore at any point in the cafe or afterwards. In various Frasier blooper reels aired on TV - that are not included on the DVD sets, and tend to get removed from YouTube by the copyright holders - it's shown that Martin was wearing a bright blue Space Needle hat, but as soon as he entered the cafe with the hat on, the audience and actors couldn't stop laughing at it, which might partially explain why the scenes with the hat were removed from the episode.

** The writers toyed back and forth as to whether Daphne would be Hispanic or English. Had they made her Hispanic, Rosie Perez was their top choice for the part, as she had been for their rejected series concept. They ultimately wrote the role as English in the pilot’s first draft, but Kelsey Grammer wasn’t happy about this. He feared Daphne being English would make the show too reminiscent of ''Series/NannyAndTheProfessor'', a series he didn’t care for at all. He changed his mind after reading with Jane Leeves, so Daphne remained English.
