* BlackSheepHit: The band was known for poppy HairMetal with clever lyrics and remarkably intricate and speedy guitar work by Nuno Bettencourt (the Beethoven guitar riff from ''Film/BillAndTedsExcellentAdventure'' came from their song "Play With Me" and a regular feature in their concerts was Nuno's rendition of "Flight of the Bumblebee"... take THAT, Music/DragonForce!). Out of all of their most famous songs, only "Get the Funk Out" is indicative of their style. Nowhere is this more apparent than in their biggest hit "More Than Words", but their other hits "Hole Hearted" and "Play With Me" are also different to the way they usually sound ("Play with Me" was however similar to the sound of the rest of the album it was on, so it was more of a case of EarlyInstallmentWeirdness).

* ChartDisplacement: Their only #1 on the Mainstream Rock chart was the relatively forgotten "Rest in Peace". It may also surprise people that "Hole Hearted" was a much bigger hit than "More Than Words" on rock despite the latter being their only #1 pop hit.

*CreatorBacklash: The band came to resent "More Than Words" for awhile due to its massive popularity despite not really representing what the band sounds like, and reportedly at one point tried to cut it from their set. However, this didn't last and ultimately they have come to embrace it and now play it generally during the encore of their sets.
