* CreatorDrivenSuccessor: To ''VideoGame/TheKingOfDragons'', a similar game made before Capcom actually got the D&D license. The latter was a SpiritualLicensee of D&D, or else simply a D&D game with the SerialNumbersFiledOff.
* WhatCouldHaveBeen: A UsefulNotes/PlayStation port of ''Tower of Doom'' was planned at one point, but it ended up cancelled for unknown reasons. A 30% complete prototype was shown and released to the public by The Hidden Palace as part of "Project Deluge".

* OneOfUs: Alex Jimenez, a game designer who also created the "Darkstalkers" characters, translated the "Tower of Doom" scenario into an actual ''Dungeons & Dragons'' scenario for his San Jose gamers group to play with him as "Dungeon Master" ("Tower of Doom" also credits him as this too). Based on the players' reactions, Capcom of Japan then revised the scenario (from a straight dungeon crawl as originally planned). For "Shadow over Mystara" he is credited for "Original Script."

Alex Jiminez helped make the story of "Tower of Doom" into a D&D campaign, and this helps develop what would be "Tower of Doom".
