The pilot film and the first season were produced by Creator/{{Filmways}} ([[PlayingAgainstType yes, that Filmways]]); they were subsequently bought by the young Creator/OrionPictures, and they took over production of the rest of the show; the reunion telefilms were produced directly by creator Barney Rosenzweig, as by that point Orion had gone bankrupt. Creator/{{MGM}} owns the rights to the series now as a result of their buyout of Orion in 1998.
