* DawsonCasting: Originally averted with Creator/MilaKunis; when cast, she was as old as Meg. However, [[ComicBookTime Meg remained a teenager while she grew up]].

* NonSingingVoice: Creator/MilaKunis claims she's unable to sing, so the majority of the time Meg's singing is done by Creator/TaraStrong. However, this is averted when she sang her part for "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS9E7RoadToTheNorthPole All I Really Want for Christmas]]".

** Originally, Creator/LauraPrepon (Donna from ''Series/That70sShow'') was supposed to voice Hayley Smith, but was replaced by SethMacFarlane's sister, Rachel. Had Prepon stayed, the show would have gotten a lot more unfavorable comparisons to ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy'' as the latter show also has someone from ''That '70s Show'' as a cast member (Creator/MilaKunis replaced an uncredited Creator/LaceyChabert on ''Family Guy'' and played Jackie on ''That '70s Show'').

** In one episode, Steve sings Scott Grimes' hit song, Sunset Blvd. He also says that two movies Scott Grimes was in, Critters and Critters 2, are crappy.
