* ''VideoGame/SkylandersTrapTeam'': Wolfgang is a member of the Doom Raiders led by the Golden Queen, but he is highly disapproval of how she's willing to let their comrades fall in the process of achieving their goals, which is a goal he finds to be somewhat idiotic. So when [[spoiler:the Doom Raiders need to travel to the future of Skylands in order to overcome their final obstacle, Wolfgang takes this chance to stay in the future and conquer Skylands there, leaving the Queen to rule it in the present.]]

** While Shang Tsung is loyal to Shao Kahn in the first three canonical installments, in ''[[VideoGame/MortalKombatDeadlyAlliance Deadly Alliance]]'' he teams up with Quan Chi to take the realms for themselves. There's also the matter of his endings in ''VideoGame/MortalKombatII'' and ''[[VideoGame/MortalKombat3 3]]'', where he kills his former master and conquers both Earthrealm and Outworld. Sort of justified by the fact that you actually need to defeat Shao Kahn with Shang Tsung to get said ending.

This reaches a peak in ''VideoGame/MortalKombat1'', when the reboot timeline reveals there to be ''multiple instances'' of Shang Tsung. They collaborate with each other and to no one's surprise, betray one another at the climax, because you could look up "untrustworthy" in the Mortal Kombat dictionary and find a picture of Shang Tsung.
