** Steppenwolf from Film/JusticeLeague2017 is considered to be the most forgettable and least-liked villain of the franchise due to having a bare-bones personality and an uninteresting CGI design. It didn't help matters that he was the main villain of the film instead of the more popular Comicbook/Darkseid (or, really, any New God; Steppenwolf is pretty much the definition of C-list among the group) or actual Leaguer villains like Starro, Amazo, or the Crime Syndicate. His version from the Film/ZackSnydersJusticeLeague film is seen as better in most regards by comparison.

Vandal Savage. His version from the Film/ZackSnydersJusticeLeague film is seen as better in most regards by comparison.comparison, thanks to having a redesign that veers into UglyCute depending on his facial expressions and a fleshed out backstory that makes him more sympathetic.
** After a few films' worth of supervillains that managed to be more warmly received, Ishmael/SABBAC from Film/BlackAdam2022 revived the trend by having the flimsiest of motivations to the point where he's barely a character. Exacerbated in part due to the titular Black Adam already being an enemy of Captain Marvel and the Justice Society, so SABBAC's very presence only detracted from Adam's moral ambiguity.
** Dark Flash from Film/TheFlash2023 was immediately hated thanks to being an uninspired EvilKnockoff to a character that's known for having an incredibly diverse rogues' gallery. It's like if Batman or Spider-Man had to fight Man-Bat or Venom in their first film. His backstory of being born from a time paradox that he himself created showed the script had been through several writers with varying levels of enthusiasm and the reveal that he was actually an older version of an alternate Barry Allen - who was already hated thanks to his irritating personality and hijacking a role that could have gone to Wally West - meant he lacked neither the charisma nor the intimidation factor needed to carry a movie.

** Franklin from Film/JurassicWorldFallenKingdom gets a lot of hate for being a walking nerd stereotype who does nothing but complain, whine, and even scream during 90% of his screen time, as well as for being comic relief in a movie that honestly didn't need any. The fact that he does nothing of importance other than take out Wu, which could be just as easily accomplished if Zia had released Blue a few seconds earlier, doesn't do him any favors. Granted, Zia was handcuffed by Wu to Blue's cage at the moment, meaning any wrong movement could have resulted in her undoing.

* Film/TheKarateKid1984: You'll be hard pressed to find someone who likes Freddy Fernandez for being a FairWeatherFriend to Daniel. Especially when compared to the Cobra Kais who had Johnny's back when he lost, defying a violent ShellShockedVeteran then quitting in response for nearly killing Johnny. Even the subtle hint the two are still friends in Series/CobraKai isn't seen as enough to redeem him.

* Film/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2014:
** A lot of people didn't like this incarnation of April O'Neil, due to feeling she takes up too much time in the movie away from the Turtles (not helped due to their dynamic being considered one of the strongest points in the movie), has too bland a subplot, and leads to a lot of what's generally considered Padding. Being portrayed by Creator/MeganFox also added to the divisiveness, as her sexpot looks diverge from how April is typically drawn or played.
** When it comes down to it, Eric Sacks is just an unnecessary new character who steals the spotlight not only from Shredder but from Karai and Baxter Stockman as well. What earns him such a great amount of hatred is the fact that he was supposed to be this incarnation's Shredder through a RaceLift. Even with the inevitable fan backlash and acquisitions of whitewashing during the film's production forcing the writers to split the characters (thus diluting Sacks' importance in the overall plot), the negative response to his character is likely why he was completely dropped with no explanation from the sequel Film/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtlesOutOfTheShadows.

* Film/TheThingThatCouldntDie: Flavia. Consider:
** She openly uses Jessica's dowsing abilities for her own gain, even when Jessica objects (admittedly, Jessica doesn't usually object too strongly).
** She totally believes in Jessica's dowsing abilities, but not in Jessica's ability to recognize evil when she senses it.
** She cares about Greed money more than just about anything else, and isn't shy about admitting it.
** Again, she's willing to use Jessica's dowsing abilities, but when told she herself might have this talent, she objects, thinking she would just look foolish. As Linda pointed out, "You didn't mind when Jessica looked foolish."
** Hearing noises downstairs in the night and thinking there might be danger, she shouts out the window toward the cabin her young niece is staying in, imploring the girl to come investigate. Or, as Crow T. Robot puts it, "Yeah, you stand there in the window shrieking like a dental drill while I endanger myself." (To be completely fair, Flavia does go downstairs herself after calling Jessica.)

According to a discussion forum, he doesn't count. It's mainly the detractors of Project X that dislike him.

* Film/ProjectX: Costa is an arrogant, promiscuous, sociopathic bastard who bullies his friends, is casually misogynistic, racist, and homophobic, and is responsible for most of the problems that occur in the film, including stealing from a drug dealer he knows. He also brings a pair of psychopathic kids as "security" who assault a man whose only crime is being upset about the titular party. It doesn't help that he basically ends up a KarmaHoudini.

Removed Rachel from the sonic films since it will be retardant to have her despite being in the scrappy page of the sonic series

* Film/SonicTheHedgehog2020: Rachel was supposed to be disliked as an ObnoxiousInLaws disliking Tom for no apparent reason. But she was unintentionally disliked, as the worst aspects of the SassyBlackWoman trope--Rachel and her sister Maddie being black and Tom being white--suggest she may be racist and contribute nothing to the plot. Her reception greatly improved in the sequel as she took a level in kindness and badass , but she is still divisive due to her wedding subplot lasting way longer than it has any right to be as it has no relevance outside that moment.

** Lenny Luthor, for being annoying and obnoxious. Somehow Gus Gorman from the previous film seems like a good idea.Notably, when Jon Cryer was cast as Lex Luthor for the Supergirl TV series, he explicitly mentioned in interviews that he took the role as "an apology" for playing Lenny.
** Nuclear Man is also regarded as an absolutely awful character, thanks to his evil press-on nails, cheesy electric powers, and ridiculous weakness.

** There is 1998}} the first American Godzilla, nowadays officially called Zilla due to this trope. He is hated for being weak compared to the original, lacking the powerful breath vision and durability, as well as having a totally different backstory (he's a mutated marine iguana, not a dinosaur). He also runs away from the military, and looks very different from the original. Ironically, in some international markets, he's actually by far the most well known and popular monster of the franchise, and it's the Japanese one and the newer American one that's hated (primarily due to poor distribution of the Japanese films in these regions, leading to the 1998 film greatly overshadowing them in popularity). In more recent years, Zilla's status among the fandom has softened (in part due to his appearance in the comic Comicbook/GodzillaRulersOfEarth), and many have begun accepting him as a terrible Godzilla incarnation, but perfectly acceptable as a distinct kaiju on his own.

* Film/LadyInTheWater: Vick Ran. Unlike most of the examples listed here, it's not because he's annoying or unlikable. The real reason he's hated is because he's essentially destined to become the messiah of writers...who just so happens to be played by the film's writer/director: the one and only Creator/MNightShyamalan. Needless to say, many viewers didn't care for Shyamalan making a character who exists just to brag about how amazing his writing is. The fact that this movie was widely panned only makes the ego trip even worse for most. To top it off, he was even nominated for and won the UsefulNotes/GoldenRaspberryAwardForWorstSupportingActor at that year's ceremony.
