* Perdita, who has been helping to feed the puppies, after a while finds that she has no more milk to give them, and falls into despair because now that she's no longer useful she won't be wanted anymore. Luckily, Mrs. Dearly guesses why Perdita is troubled and (though she doesn't think the dog understands her actual words), assures her that they ''do'' still want her around -- but Perdita's initial despair really drives home how damaged she is by living with a neglectful owner for much of her early life.

* The old man who woke wakes up to find Pongo and Missis lying by his fire and mistook mistakes them for the ghosts of his childhood pets of dogs. He muses that it must be a sign that his time is short, but he's still vastly assured by the same name. The two thought that dogs play along have an afterlife too. When he drifts off again and comfort him. they take their leave, his dog thanks them for the wonderful gift they gave his "pet."
