She's tried making friends in the past, but she always ends up pushing them away by being too clingy. Seeing Rentaro's family, a group that gets along so well, she asks if she can join them. However, Rentaro actually seems to ''rejects her'' at first. Not because they aren't soulmates, but because he doesn't feel right dating someone who doesn't really love him. Shiina, however, runs away in tears, feeling like she's going to die from the heartbreak.
** Even after she joins the family, she still worries about being a nuisance and maintains some distance from the rest of the girls.
