* The HappyEnding can be considered sort of one when you consider how [[SurprisinglyHappyEnding stories like this don’t typically end well]], and the fact that ''[[DownerEnding the ending wasn’t even going to be happy]]'’. If it wasn’t for stuff like the players [[OffTheRails getting a tranquilizer via smashing a locked medicine cabinet]] which lead to the NonLethalKO of Stitches and giving him the group photo, which in turn [[DeusExMachina caused him to]] [[AndroclesLion save Tom from]] a HeroicSacrifice, sparing Jay, who the creator expected to be [[MercyKill mercy killed]], and other choices by the players ultimately led up to [[EarnYourHappyEnding the ending changing for the better]], even though these choices were often so specific and unexpected that they could of very easily not happened, and if they didn’t, the ending would of been [[BittersweetEnding less happy at best]] and a flat out downer ending at worst.

* #6 (aka Tom Nook) has been shown to fear Ace ''so'' bad--even just the mere though of him--to the point of him breaking down, cowering in a corner, and ''crying for his mother!'' Remember. This is the insane EldritchAbomination we're talking about! It even got to the point of him completely forgetting about Lucy: his one, only, and last reason for living; and he would not even respond when she apparently tried calming him down.
* Subject 6/ Tom Nook is probably the saddest example of the patients. Along with being left alone for who-knows-how-long in his filthy room and also being the most physically deformed and mutated; he seems to have almost completely either lost feeling of the unimaginable pain of his mutations and his own, indescribable smell or does not care in his desperation over his missing love "Lucy", which seems to be stronger than his own horrific state-of-being.
