* Lucia's confrontation with Zophar. She takes the power of Althena and plans to use to kill Zophar. When everyone is expecting her to kill Zophar however, he gloats about how using the power of Althena to kill him will burn the world to ash just like it did when Althena stopped him on the Blue Star. Everyone else [[ThatLiarLies accusing Zophar of making it up]], though the player has likely realized the foreshadowing to it over the course of the game. Zophar [[ShutUpKirk responds that they only wish he was lying]] and Lucia admits that Zophar is telling the truth. While she is able to summon the power to defend the others from an attack by Zophar, having gotten so attached to humanity from her time with them she can't bring herself to defeat Zophar if it means destroying the world, leading him capturing her and taking Althena's power.

While she is able to summon the power to defend the others from an attack by Zophar, having gotten so attached to humanity from her time with them she can't bring herself to defeat Zophar if it means destroying the world, leading him capturing her and taking Althena's power.power.
* In a scene unique to the Sega CD original, the party are approaching Pentagulia, having obtained the power of the four dragons, and Lucia is lost in thought regarding the possible consequences of what she hasn't told the others she's planning to do with Althena's power.
** Lucia's reverie is interrupted when Ghaleon shows up with the express intent of delaying them while Zophar's restoration is still under way:
--->'''Ghaleon:''' ''[materialises on the deck of the Dragonship Destiny; chuckles as Ronfar, Jean, and Lemina rush to join Hiro, Lucia, and Ruby]'' My, my, my, you've been ''busy'' little beavers, ''haven't'' you?\\
'''Hiro:''' Ghaleon!\\
'''Lucia:''' What are you doing here?\\
'''Ghaleon:''' Ah, but you see, Zophar's restoration is not ''quite'' complete, and you've been making faster progress than we expected. Therefore... it's my job to create a little... crisis. ''[EvilLaugh; cut to battle scene]''[[note]] The rest of the dialogue is rendered as text only in the game; the punctuation is as in the original.[[/note]]\\
'''Lucia:''' I know your plan, Ghaleon. You have joined with Zophar to destroy this world!\\
'''Ghaleon:''' Me? Destroy the world? Oh dear, that sounds so, so,...barbaric. Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmmm... I love it. But, don't confuse my intentions, sweet child. I fully intend to recreate the world with Zophar once the impurities are removed. And I've decided to start my impurity abatement program with you, Lucia. Wave bye-bye to your little boyfriend, dear. I sense a coming....chill in your relationship... Ha ha ha ha ha!\\
''[Ghaleon fires off a spell, but as it moves toward Lucia, [[HeroicSacrifice Hiro rushes into its path and takes the full force of it;]] he is lifted into the air, and when the spell clears, he has been encased in crystal and falls to the deck, inert. Even the soundtrack cuts off]''\\
'''Ghaleon:''' Hrmph! What a seriously confused little boy. If he had minded his own business, he'd still be alive. But, now that he's out of the way, Lucia is all mine!\\
'''Lucia:''' Hiro!?...Hiro!!! [[BigNo Nooooooo!]]\\
'''Ghaleon:''' .... .....\\
'''Lucia:''' Hiro! Why did you...\\
'''Ghaleon:''' Ha ha ha! Poor, lost, little Lucia. You care for Hiro more than yourself. That's so touching. You know, there is a way you can save your true love... If you were to give me the secret of the Blue Tower's power, I could...\\
'''Lucia:''' Ghaleon! How do you know about the Blue Tower's secret power?!\\
'''Ghaleon:''' Ha ha ha. I know many things, my dear. I also know that you now control the destiny of your little Hiro. Go to Pentagulia to finish your mission, or return to the Blue Tower to save Hiro. It's up to you...hm hm hm hm hm hm... ''[he vanishes; cut to the "overworld" view of the deck]''\\
'''Ruby:''' Oh no! Hiro! Hiro! Lucia, you have to save Hiro! Please???\\
'''Ronfar:''' Looks like our luck's taken a turn for the worse... Damn that Ghaleon!\\
'''Lemina:''' If Ghaleon can change a human into crystal, who can stop him?\\
'''Jean:''' Lucia has the power to save Hiro and stop Ghaleon...he said it himself...\\
'''Lucia:''' If I use the secret power of the Blue Tower, I can save Hiro... ....but that would...
** And so Lucia is forced into a FriendOrIdolDecision, and her initial choice stuns the other party members - and probably the player as well:
--->''[at this point, the player gets control of Lucia and can talk to Lemina, Jean, and Ronfar, or look at Hiro's crystalline form]''\\
'''Lucia:''' ''[if she looks at the crystal containing Hiro]'' Oh, Hiro. You sacrificed your life, so that I could live. I owe you everything.\\
'''Ruby:''' Lucia, we have to hurry and get to the Blue Spire to restore Hiro.\\
'''Lucia:''' But, there's no time. Zophar is...\\
'''Lemina:''' ''[if Lucia talks to her]'' With money, practically anything is possible... but, I'm pretty sure that there's no way we can buy Hiro back from the dead. You've got to save him, Lucia!\\
'''Lucia:''' But Lemina...I....\\
'''Jean:''' ''[if Lucia talks to her]'' Lucia...why do you hesitate? You aren't thinking of letting Hiro die, are you? I know that you're not that cold-hearted! You simply can't be...\\
'''Lucia:''' .... .....\\
'''Ronfar:''' ''[if Lucia talks to him]'' Are you going to save Hiro by using the power of the Blue Spire?\\
'''Lucia:''' .... ..... Ronfar, continue the course to Pentagulia.\\
'''Ronfar:''' But that's the opposite direction of the Blue Spire! If you don't go there and restore Hiro, that will be the....end...of.....him...\\
'''Ruby:''' [[WhatTheHellHero He was stricken trying to save your life! How can you turn your back on him now?]]\\
'''Lucia:''' Ruby, please understand. I must accomplish my task, or all will be...\\
'''Ruby:''' I'M NOT LISTENING! LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA LA.....\\
'''Ronfar:''' Listen, I know how important it is not to let Zophar revive, but I will not let Hiro die like this! I'm going to the port at Dalton. I can take him to the Blue Spire from there. Maybe I can figure out how to revive him. You can do what you want.\\
'''Lucia:''' Ronfar, you don't understand anything! If Zophar revives before Althena, he will seize Althena's power, and become the most powerful being in the universe, with the absolute power of creation and destruction. Once his evil is infused with this power, it will be the end of everything! This is our only chance to stop him.\\
'''Ruby:''' But, Lucia...\\
'''Lucia:''' I am Lucia, guardian of the Blue Star. I came here to save the world. I must continue my mission, regardless of the cost. Do what you must, Ronfar. ''[she takes the wheel of the Destiny]''\\
'''Ronfar:''' But, Lucia...wait! This is the last chance to save Hiro!\\
'''Lucia:''' .... .....
** The scene does, however, end on a more heartwarming note as Lucia realises the depths of her feelings for Hiro:
--->''[cut to an overworld view of the ship on the waters below Pentagulia]''\\
'''Ruby:''' What are you waiting for, Lucia? Pentagulia awaits. Now you can finish the mission that cost you your only true friend.\\
'''Lucia:''' Yes, my mission nears its end. But, instead of joy, all I feel is pain... as if a burning knife twists within my heart, scraping away my soul, my life... .... .....\\
'''Ruby:''' Well, duh! Your pain is caused by the fact that you've abandoned Hiro. It's your choice: antacids and guilt forever, or turn around now and rescue Hiro.\\
'''Lucia:''' But, if I don't go to Pentagulia now, Zophar will take control, and the world will\\
'''Ruby:''' Will what? Explode? Implode? Turn into a giant tin of sardines? C'mon Lucia! You're putting true love on the altar of trust and spitting on it! Show a little respect! You know what's right, so just do it!\\
'''Lucia:''' You don't understand... The danger is...\\
'''Ruby:''' ...still gonna be there when we get back, so let's go revive Hiro now!\\
'''Lucia:''' Oh Ruby, I hope Hiro knows what a true friend you are. All right, let's go back to the Blue Spire so I can resurrect Hiro.

-->'''Leo:''' Hiro, the time is now at hand for us to part ways, but this time, we do so as friends. I shall wander this land in search of my true destiny, while you seek yours with Lucia on the Blue Star. ''[smiles]'' Well, good luck.\\
'''Ronfar:''' Until now, I thought I was the biggest gambler on Lunar, but... it's you! I don't know what lies ahead of you on this journey, but I'm sure you'll win it all in the end. ''[grins]'' So, I'm betting it all on you! Welp... ''[sigh]'' That's my pep talk. See ya, chief.\\
'''Ruby:''' Hiro, this is so very dangerous! I wish you could stay here with me, but I guess that wouldn't really be fair to Lucia ''or'' you. But, but then... your leaving really isn't fair to me either! ''[she starts bawling, continuing over the first part of the next line]''\\
'''Jean:''' Some of what Ruby says is really true, you know, Hiro. ''[sighs]'' But then, I... I'm sure you'll make it back to Lucia just fine! I have faith that you can do what you dream. ''[forces a smile]'' So, get out of here before I cry. Go! I mean it!\\
'''Lemina:''' ''[hand to her forehead]'' Oh, I'm really mega-bad at saying goodbye like this! ''[tries to smile]'' But this isn't like a final forever goodbye, is it? You're just going out to pick up a friend. ''[her smile fades]'' Oh... who am I kidding? ''[sniffs]'' Hurry back, Hiro...
