** To specify, the entire game, Gabriel's goal was to bring back Marie and this single thing is what fueled him. But at the end of it all, he learns the God mask can't bring back the dead and only allows the user to see through God's eyes. Marie ascends to heaven and Gabriel pleads with her to stay. He reluctantly lets her go as she says it's her time. It's heartbreaking enough but then he sees Claudia's spirit and he offers her a weak smile that doesn't reach his eyes. She ascends to heaven as well and the last thing we see before the credits is Gabriel losing his composure, falling to his knees and letting out a silent skyward scream as he begins to breakdown and cry as he realizes his goal could never be accomplished and all his efforts and all his fights ended with him completely alone with no one to comfort him.
