** Doubly gut-wrenching if you recalled that in "Babel", Doctor's decision to sacrifice Theresa in exchange to keep Tower of Babel intact almost went AllForNothing. While Theresis kept his promise not to harm Tower of Babel, the organization itself went through a series of infighting immediately after Theresa's death, with defectors wish to avenge Theresa death and upholding Amiya as Theresa's successor to continue the civil war. By the time Rhode Island left the border of Kazdel, only a sixth of the crew remained, while others either dead, defected, or left in disappointment. In addition, some of the Babel members who defected to the Military Commission after learning that Theresa is revived decided to mutilate their body just like the assassins, as they feel guilty of unable to protect her in the first place, and hope to become her personal bodyguards to redeem themselves.

** That being said, Priestess revealed that the originium is a creation out of desperation, as the Precursor Civilization tried and failed to save themselves from the cataclysm for numerous time. In fact, the reason why only Doctor and Priestess are abroad Rhode Island is that the ship had suffered tremendous damage that everyone else left the ship in hope of getting the last comfort before the doom fell upon them. As for Priestess herself, she also lost hope of saving themselves from the disaster, and all she want now is to stay with Doctor, even if their mind still wander off into the universe in search for salvation and comfort.

[[AC:Episode 14: Absolved Will Be the Seekers]]
* The Doctor was finally shown the AwfulTruth of what happened in ''Babel'' event: that they're responsible for Theresa's death. To make matters worse, Kal'tsit, W and Amiya also saw the memory, and while Kal'tsit and W had long known the truth - and thus managed to keep their calm and not divide themselves in the middle of enemy territory - Amiya was crying from the revelation. She then confessed that while she didn't know, she had long suspected the truth because of how reluctant Kal'tsit and the elite operators were to rescue the Doctor from Chernobog, and it's ''heartbreaking'' to see Amiya feeling so torn and conflicted on the Doctor, because her mother figure was practically murdered by her other ParentalSubstitute.

* When Civilight Eterna - a program left by Theresa that takes her form - asks Amiya to ask her any question, the only question Amiya asks her is...what the ending was to the fairy tale Theresa told her. However, as Theresa never intended to end the fairy tale and wanted Amiya to write the ending, Civilight Eterna cannot give her an answer.

** Theresa's final moment with Amiya as she passed down the crown to her was ''painful''. Amiya was only in the room when the assault began because she wanted Theresa to read her a story, and after the arts Theresa used to protect her sight and hearing dissipates, Amiya found a bloodied, wounded Theresa apologizing to her as she gives her a hug; Theresa wished that she could watch Amiya grow up, could see her make her own choices and decisions instead of thrusting the responsibility of the crown to her like this, and yet she has no other choice but to asks for her help, to believe that Amiya would be able to accomplish what she couldn't. And Amiya, not fully understanding what is happening except that Theresa is hurting, nods and accepts the offer, hoping that she could save her mother figure by doing so, and as Theresa stabbed the sword into her, Amiya didn't feel any pain, only warmth; and when the Doctor finally came into the room, Theresa kissed Amiya's face and made sure she fell asleep so she doesn't see the betrayal of the person who saved her.
--->'''Theresa''': Amiya...I'm sorry that I put the weight of this crown on you. I thought... I would be able to accompany you for a long, long time, to accompany you as you grow up, to accompany you to the point where you can bravely face the death of your parents, to accompany you to the point where you can give your own answers-- Answer whether you are willing to continue walking for me... But there's never enough time left for us, Amiya. I now selfishly place my burden on you... I'm sorry, my child--

** Why did the assassins mutilate their own horns? They, too, loved and respected Theresa, and felt like by turning on her they were breaking some taboo, and thus self-mutilated out of shame.

* The animation [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=La3W4GjGTyo "The Dagger's Inheritors"]], created as part of the 5th anniversary celebrations and tied to the main plot of chapter 14, covers how W reacted to the collapse of Babel when Theresa was assassinated - she went on a madness-fueled RoaringRampageOfRevenge as she hunted down the Sarkaz directly linked to the assassination, represented by their self-mutilated horns and their damaged dogtags. It is shown that she constantly hallucinated about her past and Theresa, showing that she genuinely desired the future that Theresa promised, and part of how she grieved was that she scrawled the picture of a white flower on a rock wall so hard that ''her hands bled'', the flower that Theresa's loyalists took up as her symbol. In the final part of the animation, when she confronts one of the last still-living assassins and kills him, the guy's terrified daughter picks up his fallen dagger in self-defense, leading W to understand that she has just made another girl step onto the path of revenge bearing her father's legacy, in a similar position to what she had when she took up the original W's dagger and Hoederer took her in. It can be seen that she visibly hesitates at this.

* With Logos's release, players finally get the story to how the "Elite Operators Stool racing tournament" happened. While hilarious, the incident is also sombering in hindsight as a good portion of the participants (Ace, Scout, and Outcast) are dead by the time we get the full story. It's a reminder how the Elite Operators do get along well with each other long before some of their cohorts are killed in action, and how those days may never fully come back.

** As Theresa wiped out Doctor's memory, she found a PRTS record that did not show up in the system. It is Doctor's last words to Priestess before going through the assassination plan, before deleted for retake. Doctor apologize to her that they will not be there when she finally woke up, and that they have become too attached to Terra to leave them alone in face of the cataclysm. It is then Theresa realized that Doctor was presented in the room not to lead the assassins, but to offer themselves to be killed by Theresa for their action, knowing she is able to do so, even when mortally wounded.

The goal of Originium was never to erase intelligent lifeform on Terra. In fact, Originium is the reason why Terra has intelligent lifeforms and civilization in the first place. Furthermore, the plan of using Originium had gone awry after 13000 years, as no one in Precursor Civilzation expected Oripathy, since they are immune to it.

* The event's story hits you with an utterly ''massive'' bomb of a reveal: the spread of Originium, and the existence of Oripathy, is '''''entirely the Doctor's fault.''''' Their plan alongside Priestess was to kill all intelligent life on Terra by turning them into Originium, so they could use it to try and save their own race. While the Doctor was on board with this at first, seeing the horrific pain and suffering that Oripathy inflicted on many innocent lives, including Amiya, caused them to have [[MyGodWhatHaveIDone serious doubts about their goals]], and started desperately trying to find a cure, even attempting to infect themselves to no avail. In the end, they chose to go through with their original plan, rationalizing that it would be a [[MercyKill mercy]] to Terra at this point.

** To twist the knife further is just how ''beloved'' Theresa was. Her assassins severed their horns and covered their entire bodies, because they could not bear to consider themselves as Sarkaz due to the grave sin they were about to commit, and they fully intended to die alongside her.
