* The chorus of the song "Cendrillon" from by Kagamine Ren sounds an awful lot like the chorus of the ''TransformersAnimated'' Japanese opening theme. Or is it the other way around?

** Kenji Yamamoto's portfolio in general was just terrible about this trope. So much of it was blatantly plagiarized that it wound up getting him fired and all his music for ''Dragon Ball Kai'' and the ''Budokai Tenkaichi'' games was replaced with tracks from Shunsuke Kikuchi's original score for ''Dragon Ball'' and ''Dragon Ball Z''.

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ugnDt9SD9rQ Merry Go Round of Life]] from ''Anime/HowlsMovingCastle'' is quite similar to the opening phrases of [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_FeLLZ7eIU Memories of Fanelia]] from ''Anime/{{Escaflowne}}''. Joe Hisaishi (composer for ''Howl''), the composer for Studio Ghibli, was the one to discover Yoko Kanno and lead her into anime music composition. However, ''Escaflowne'' actually came first, meaning the teacher referenced the student.

* The opening of "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHk1cJWp9cM Welcome to the World]]", Joseph's theme from the AnimatedAdaptation of ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventureBattleTendency'', sounds like the iconic pickup from "[[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WcSLb2phjDk Owner of a Lonely Heart]]" by Music/{{Yes}}. Since ''[=JoJo=]'' is well known for referencing Western music and musicians, this may well have been an intentional homage.
