* ''[[VideoGame/AdvanceWars Advance Wars: Reboot Camp]]'' leaned into this heavily with Adder, taking his [[TheNarcissist narcissistic ego]] from the original and exaggerating it into full-on desperation to be seen as [[BigBadWannabe the biggest and baddest villain of them all]]. Naturally, as he has the average, not bad but ''certainly'' not great, ability to quickly and repeatedly use his CO Power but otherwise has ''no'' strengths or weaknesses, the only CO in the game he is objectively better than is the StarterVillain [[DumbMuscle Flak]].

Removed the example regarding Fawful from Mario And Luigi Bowsers Inside Story: he became a legitimate threat comparable to Cackletta during said game and subverted his Big Bad Wannabe status.

** Fawful in general in the ''VideoGame/MarioAndLuigi'' series. The guy quite literally seems to think he's the best person in every possible field, is some sort of EvilOverlord despite being TheDragon to another BigBad for [[VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiSuperstarSaga the first game]] and is listed on both ItsAllAboutMe and {{Narcissist}} for very good reason. The entire setup for most of ''[[VideoGame/MarioAndLuigiBowsersInsideStory Bowser's Inside Story]]'' is that he makes the whole kingdom think of himself as he does through mind control.

General clarification on work content

** ''VideoGame/Persona4'' has Teddie, who despite being an empty bear suit, thinks that he's the world's most suave ladies man. [[spoiler: He gets a {{Bishonen}} human form later on, and sadly for the other characters, his charms ''work'' on most non-story-related ladies.]]

To the point the ugly school bully stalks him when she's not worshipping the ground the protagonist walks on.]]

Bonus Boss is a disambiguation

*** Though the possibility of a subversion is creeping in with evidence her boast aren't ''quite'' as disproportionate as they seem. In ''VideoGame/TouhouKaeidzukaPhantasmagoriaOfFlowerView'', Eiki Shiki says she has "too much" power for a fairy, and in ''VideoGame/YouseiDaisensouTouhouSangetsusei'' [[spoiler:she forces BonusBoss Marisa to go all-out with her "fairy extermination spells" to beat her, though she apparently comes off second-best despite technically winning the danmaku brawl.]]

* [[SmugSnake Zote]] from ''VideoGame/HollowKnight'' genuinely believes that he's a mighty knight, but he's anything but. [[PlayerCharacter The Knight]] encounters him twice in Hallownest, tied up by some beast. If they cut him loose, Zote treats them as a nuisance, saying that he could have easily saved himself. [[spoiler:Which isn't true at all. [[VideoGameCrueltyPotential If the player decides to just leave him there without saving him]], all that will be left of Zote upon returning is his broken mask]]. [[spoiler:If you do save him, Zote winds up being the [[BonusBoss boss]] of the first trial at the Colosseum of Fools, where he finally shows off his great fighting skills he's so proud of: Wildly swinging his wooden sword like a child and occasionally falling flat on his face. Even if he manages to land a hit on you, he does no damage, making Zote ''the weakest enemy in the entire game'']]. To hammer home just how harmless he really is, even [[BloodKnight the Hunter]] regards Zote as too weak and pathetic to bother killing.
