Thanks to Chris [=McLean=]'s habit of ScrewTheRulesIMakeThem in ''WesternAnimation/TotalDrama'', some eliminations tend to be shocking. The contestant(s) in '''bold''' indicate the ones who have been eliminated in that episode.

* '''Nichelle''' finds a mysterious stack of paper on her bed right before the elimination ceremony. At the ceremony, she announces she's quitting (in spite of the previous season stating that contestants now own a million dollars if they were to quit, no less) because she got a contract for another movie, which is revealed after the elimination to have been merely forged by Julia. Even more shocking as the season was a redemption arc for Nichelle.

* As pointed out by Raj and Wayne, the choice who to vote out was difficult, as everyone performed well and no one was truly to blame for their loss. Similarly to Ezekiel from the first season, '''Scary Girl'''s last-minute confession about how she's trying to become normal, which only painted her as a StalkerWithoutACrush, cemented her fate. Not as shocking if you were spoiled by the ContentLeak, though.

* '''Caleb'''. He didn't do anything particularly bad, was popular with other contestants for appearance similarly to Justin, and was barely given any focus at all, but ended up being voted out for being a threat. Unless you've been [[TrailersAlwaysSpoil/TotalDrama spoiled by the trailers]].
* '''MK'''. She seemed to have an interesting villain arc forming and seemed to have successfully framed Julia for stealing everyone's stuff. Everyone actually believes Julia, eliminating her.

* '''Zee'''. He's a NiceGuy liked by about everyone and at the time of the [[spoiler:final 7]] both remaining alliances need him as the deciding vote. However, after revealing his plan to unify both sides by joining forces together to vote out ''Chris'', Bowie asks the host for a re-vote, and everyone changes their mind, getting rid of Zee instead.

* ''MK''. She seemed to have an interesting villain arc forming and seemed to have successfully framed Julia for stealing everyone's stuff. Everyone actually believes Julia, eliminating her.

* '''Duncan''' quits the show, refusing to sing a reprisal of this episode's song. The fact that such a major character leaves in the very first episode (though it doesn't last) makes it all the more surprising.

* Leonard's idea for a wizard's tower as a shelter costs his team the challenge. However, '''Beardo''' is voted out instead, for making noises instead of helping.

* How Camp Wawanakwa had been restored in spite of sinking in "[[Recap/TotalDramaTheFinalWreckening The Final Wreck-ening]]" is never adressed.

[[AC:Mediterranean Homesick Blues]]
* '''The Geniuses (Ellody and Mary)''' get eliminated partially because a wave washes away their formula, causing them to wing it. That, in combination with the long time it took for them to make the formula, is what seals their fate.

* The episode seems to build up Courtney as the one whom Killer Bass will vote out. However, a last minute offensive remark from '''Ezekiel''' when the team discusses who to eliminate is what spares her in favor of him.

[[AC:Three Zones and a Baby]]
* Topher was more concerned in becoming the new host for ''Total Drama''. When he gets a call from "[[PaperThinDisguise the producer]]" (actually Chris), he cheers in excitement. Team Kinosewak lose. At the campfire ceremony, Topher was ecstatic that he is now the host. To his surprise, it turns out that this was ruse by Chris and that '''Topher''' is hereby eliminated.

* One would expect Courtney to be voted off for wasting a chance to triple her team's points and thus allow them to win, especially after being rude to other contestants about their fears earlier. Bridgette, Courtney, DJ, Duncan, and Geoff's group has also not been shown to be that close yet. However, in spite of all this, '''Tyler''' gets the boot instead. While his fear was embarrassing, he did make an ''attempt'' to face it by crawling into the chicken coop, though he still didn't get the point, presumably for cowering the whole time.

* While it's not shocking that '''Izzy''' was eliminated, as her advice for the Killer Bass cost her team the challenge (though it did happen last-minute), the way in which she left the show definitely is.

* One would expect Courtney to be voted off for wasting a chance to triple her team's points and thus allow them to win, especially after being rude to other contestants about their fears earlier. Bridgette, Courtney, DJ, Duncan, and Geoff's group has also not been shown to be that close yet. However, in spite of all this, '''Tyler''' gets the boot instead.

* Duncan has been tormenting Harold nonstop in this episode. Who gets eliminated? '''Courtney'''. It was also argued that had Harold not rigged the votes, then he would've been the one eliminated.

* The guys form an alliance to vote off one of the girls after being outnumbered. Bridgette, Leshawna, and Gwen want to vote off Duncan, while Heather and Lindsay vote for Owen and suggest Izzy to do the same, though she's not convinced. The guys agree to vote off '''Bridgette'''. If Bridgette got booted, given that Geoff didn't vote for her, Izzy must have voted for Bridgette for some reason (perhaps because of the stink), despite having a chance to team up with the other girls' alliance to vote for Duncan.

* '''Geoff''' gets eliminated because he is the nicest guy. What gives Owen, who is nicer than Geoff, a free pass?

* Let's face it, you didn't expect '''Mr. Coconut''' to be "eliminated."

* Team Chris is Really, Really, Really, Really Hot found Jack the Ripper. However, Chris was glad to have Duncan back. As a result, Team Amazon wins. Due to Chris' horrible rules changes, '''Noah''' ends up getting another early elimination.
