** ''Film/IndianaJonesAndTheDialOfDestiny'' again has the villain succeed in gaining and using the MacGuffin, but it doesn't work like he thinks it does: while it does allow him to travel through time, it only goes to one specific point in history, which isn't anywhen near when he wants to go. The adventure does allow Indy to reconnect with his goddaughter and reconcile with his wife, so again the adventure helps Indy's personal life.

* ''Film/TheMummy1999''[=/=]''Film/TheMummyReturns'': Imhotep's entire (un)life turns out to be one. Imhotep sacrifices ''everything'' -- his position as High Priest, his mortality and his very ''soul'' for Anck-su-namun, believing that they are a bona fide example of eternal TrueLove that triumphs over death itself. But when he brings her back and the temple starts collapsing, when the chips are down and Imhotep needs her help, [[ScrewThisImOuttaHere she ignores his pleas to save him and tries to save her own sorry hide instead]], calling into question whether Anck-su-namun ever really loved him at all. He looks completely devastated when she abandons him. What's worse, he watches his mortal enemy Rick (who is dangling on the ledge with him) pleading to Evey to leave and save herself... [[YouAreWorthHell only for her to come running through the falling debris, risking her life to save him]]. Seeing this and realizing that his quest was AllforNothing, he gives Rick and Evey a [[GoOutWithASmile look that suggests a mixture of jealousy and genuine admiration, and then lets go of the ledge and descends into hell]]. [[AlasPoorVillain Alas, Poor Imhotep]].

* ''The Doberman Gang'' is about a gang that decides to use trained dobermans to rob a bank. They succeed; one of the dobermans runs off to mate with a dog in heat, and one is killed by a car returning to the hideout, but four return with five bags. Then the gang leader's girlfriend uses the dog whistles to kill two of the gang and leave the leader alive, but with none of the goods. ''Then'', because the trainer ran off and the dogs were never trained to recognize her, said girlfriend can't get any of the loot off of them... and ''then'' her bulldog runs off with the dog whistles, all of the dobermans chasing after it with the loot still attached, so no one gets anything. The closing theme song even calls it "a shaggy story".
