* Another Disney Channel example would be AlleyCatsStrike. however, despite first guess, the SeriousBusiness isn't so much bowling itself, but rather the rivalry between the city's two schools. Though in this case the {{Nakama}} are as bewildered by their schools behavior as anyone else would be.

* ''{{King of Kong}}'' is about all the drama behind ''DonkeyKong'' world records. "''DonkeyKong'' kill screen coming up..." There was even more serious business behind the scenes. Careful editing played up the rivalry and made a more obvious villain out of one of the players. The fandom went apeshit at the CharacterDerailment. The film's director claimed that he actually tried to downplay Mitchell's general assholery, because it would have made the documentary too dark and depressing.

Everyone knows it, everyone plays, and everyone's plugged in, to the point where "Video Armageddon" is greater than the Super Bowl. Interestingly, actual videogame tournaments would not become the absolute orgies of skill and entertainment as depicted in this movie until the rise of Major League Gaming and the FightingGame based Evolution Championships about ten years later.

** Very flagrantly TruthInTelevision: dares are absolutely serious business for children. It has a lot to do with the fact that if you follow through on a dare, in a week you'll just be that nutjob who kissed crazy Mrs. Tinkwaller's cat on the butt, but if you ''don't'', you'll be that guy who was too much of a pussy to lick a worm ''for the rest of your public school career'', during a period of your life when you're not even old enough to seriously believe it will ever end. It says something about children that Hollywood can't accurately portray their behavior except when they're being assholes to one another.
