* DoomedMoralVictor: Invoked by More, according to Cromwell at least. He is indeed planning to become a sacrifice for the Catholic Church to taint the image of Henry, the British Parliament, and all other supporters of the Church of England. Cromwell's not impressed, but he doesn't think much of his friend Tyndale's refusal to do the pragmatic thing and support Henry's marriage, referring to both as "mules who pose as men."

* MaliciousSlander: How Lady Rochford brings down Anne.Whether or not it was true is irrelevant: it worked because Cromwell needed to bring down Anne, and Lady Rochford gave him a plausible reason to. George Boleyn, her husband, was widely rumoured to be the type who'd hit on AnythingThatMoves, and historians speculate that one of the reasons Lady Rochford was so quick to accuse him of adultery was her disgust with his penchant for forcing her to have unnatural sex. This is alluded to in the series, when she comments to Cromwell "There is nothing natural in George" in a tone of uncharacteristic vehemence. In the book, she says that he'd mount a terrier if it wagged its tail at him.

** Catherine of Aragon as portrayed by Creator/JoanneWhalley looks remarkably waifish, even if she is made up to look tired and sickly. In her later years, Catherine is shown as having put on weight after all her pregnancies.
