* TransatlanticEquivalent: The format made its premiere in the United Kingdom before it did in America, so of course there was some EarlyInstallmentWeirdness that was cause for concern when the U.S. version was announced, due to its lower budget (as with the BBC's version of ''Wipeout'', it was filmed in Argentina; the champion only won £10,000, or about US$16,000), the game moving slower due to the number of contestants playing at once, and a perceived lack of variety in the eliminations (with many of them involving a pool). The U.S. version would streamline the game by grouping the contestants up, and had a higher budget for more varied scenarios.
