The series follows teenagers Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Creator/KitConnor) who meet and become friends on the first day of term at Truham Grammar School for Boys. Charlie, having been outed as gay the previous year, soon develops a crush on Nick. Charlie's friends Tao (William Gao), Elle (Yasmin Finney) and Isaac (Tobie Donovan) are worried this crush will lead to him getting hurt but are nonetheless supportive. But things might not be as black-and-white as that, because Nick starts to question whether he likes Charlie as just a friend, or something much more...
