* {{Fridge Horror}}: Normally Aidan strongly opposes vampires feeding on people, but he does nothing to prevent the a woman pregnant with twins from being bitten.[[spoiler:(Heck, he even throws the table she's tied to.)]] However Bishop says earlier that she was [[Jedi Mind Trick compelled,]] referring to a vaguely explained mind power of vampires that can be used to make people obey them. Usually this is fairly harmless, but can cause grivous mental damage. Aidan's disregard for their lives could mean that if the woman was mentally conditioned to the point that she wouldn't resist someone chewing on her radial artery, she and her children were, to all intents and purposes, already dead.

* SlidingScaleOfComedyAndHorror: While most charecter fantasies involving bodily harm to their enemies are inherintly funny, it is simultaniously sad, and appalling that [[spoiler:Danny made some level of his fiance's conciseness]] want to see Aiden tearing at the guy's throat.

* BuriedAlive: Apparently what happened to Izumi. [[HighOctaneNightmareFuel For decades]].

** Turns out it wasn't a big deal, as the werewolf frees itself easily. [[Spoiler: And kills Hegemon.]]

* ForcedPrizedFight: Josh is forced to participate in a cage match against an older werewolf as "entertainment" for a group of visiting vampire elders.

* Squick: Josh finds out that the wolf part of him eats its own poop (among other things humans don't normally eat) when he vomits up the poop (and other things)... as a man.

* LesYay: Sally tends to come off as this on occasion. For instance while talking at Emily, Josh's sister, she says she could make her feel happy. And when Nora comes over, Sally's promptly quips that she's hot and had nice boobs.

* OneBadMother: In Season 2, we are introduced to an elder vampire referred to as "Mother" who exhibits speed and strength far beyond other vampires.

* CruelAndUnusualPunishment: Aiden [[spoiler: knocks the fangs out of the vampire priest in order to prevent the priest from turning anyone in 'his' hospital. It's probably a side benefit that this also means the priest is going to have a much harder time feeding.]]

The news of the remake wasn't met with much [[TheyChangedItNowItSucks applause]], as most American remakes of British works seem to be somewhat lacking. But it's early days yet. Response to the first few episodes is that on the scale of North American remakes, it's much closer to ''TheOffice'' than ''{{Coupling}}''. The show has been successful enough to be renewed for a second season.

*** He's still willing to compel a pregnant women into serving as a meal for the visiting vampire elders, and has no problem with taking a bite out of her himself. Bishop's standards are motivated by practicality, not morality.

''Being Human'' is a North American remake of TheBBC's ''Series/BeingHuman'', created by Toby Whithouse. As with the original British show, it centres around a pair of friends: Aidan, a FriendlyNeighborhoodVampire, and Josh, a geeky and uptight {{Wolfman}}. They decide to get a place together, thinking that it will help them set up the routine and structure each of them needs to [[StagesOfMonsterGrief live as normally as possible]]. However, on moving to a new house, they discover that it is haunted-—by the ghost of a young woman called Sally, who is unclear on the circumstances of her death.
