* CrimeAfterCrime: [[spoiler: Paired with RevealingCoverUp. The motivations for Hollis Braun's constant interference with the MPU's investigation into the car bombing mystery of season 2: a year before, Hollis's younger brother Emerson, founder of a big charter school network and aspiring politician, made the choice to drive drunk and subsequently caused an accident that killed an entire family, including two young children. Emerson called his brother instead of 9-1-1 for help, and Hollis, despite being angry and obligated to report it, instead used fixer and career criminal John Moritz to cover-up Emerson's involvement in the crash to protect his little brother's freedom and bright future. Things stay silent for about a year, but when the Brauns learn that Mortiz has been arrested on unrelated charges, they decide they have to silence him before he can play the one card he has for a good deal: the truth behind the fatal accident. So they arrange for Mortiz to be released from prison via the bus hijacking from the season premiere, then kill him and his lawyer with a car bomb, then pay a terminally ill and already imprisoned bomber to take the fall to close the case. But when the MPU detectives, spurred on by Jason, continue to investigate the case's inconsistencies against's Hollis's orders, Emerson orders the kidnapping of their hacker ally Wayne Pascal to try and figure out how badly they're compromised. This proves to be their final mistake, and at the end of the season finale, Emerson is not only arrested for Wayne's kidnapping, but for the murders of the family he killed, Moritz and his lawyer, and Hollis is arrested for at the very least, being an accessory before and after the fact in all of his attempts to cover-up his brother's crimes.]]
