Bramley Holiday had a rerun on Christmas Day

* Despite a small hiatus, ''WesternAnimation/ItsPony'' (once ranked as the fourth best-performing show on Nickelodeon, right behind ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'', ''WesternAnimation/TheCasagrandes'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'') was one of Nickelodeon's favorite shows during 2020, but that all changed when "Bramley Holiday" aired on December 5th that year: The show disappeared from the network, and reruns only aired on the less popular Nicktoons Network. When it was finally about to come back in March 2021, Nickelodeon decided at the last minute to replace the premieres with more reruns of ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants''. New episodes eventually moved to the Nicktoons channel in October 2021, practically killing the show.

To link to the two-year long season

* ''WesternAnimation/PlanetSheen'' only had one season that took no less than ''two years'' to air before it was pulled without any notice. Once the abysmal ratings and reviews for the first three episodes came in, Nickelodeon proceeded to air the episodes OutOfOrder after it was clear to them the series wasn't performing the way they hoped it would. By the time the final 13 episodes aired (in an erratic manner so that not many people knew the show was still on), the show had been banished to Nicktoons. Like ''Fanboy'', it's speculated Nick killed the show not just because of low ratings, but due to a poor response from its viewers (''WesternAnimation/{{Jimmy Neutron|BoyGenius}}'' fans, in particular).

"Sleep in early"?

* ''WesternAnimation/AllGrownUp'' is an interesting example that, while wasn't as mistreated as the others, was still pretty mistreated. Episodes would air out of order for some reason, and only one episode aired in 2006 (most likely for the second ''Tales from the Crib'' movie). Although the show made a comeback a year later, to add insult to injury, premieres would only air at 6:30 AM, which pretty much meant that people who either didn't have a working DVR or weren't willing enough to sleep in early were out of luck. The show then went on another half-year-long hiatus and then aired the final three episodes out of the blue. Reruns continued to air, but only at 7:00 am on the weekends, which wasn't as early when ''WesternAnimation/ChalkZone'' aired, but was still kinda unfair. The show occasionally popped up on Creator/NickRewind every now and then.

I'm pretty surprised at how you guys completely looked over the Making Fiends situation when it's infamously regarded to be one of the biggest disasters in Nickelodeon history.

* ''WesternAnimation/MakingFiends'': Nickelodeon told creator Creator/AmyWinfrey that it'd air on their main channel, but at the last moment they put it on sister network Nicktoons, which isn't carried by most cable packages compared to its parent network. While it was Nicktoons' most successful original show, it only lasted for six episodes. Amy Winfrey said that scripts for seven more episodes were made, but nothing came out of them. Despite being canceled, Nicktoons still occasionally aired and marathoned the six episodes that were released.

Added DiffLines:

* Despite being a network fan-favorite, very good critical acclaim, and being utterly adored by the network for some time, ''WesternAnimation/TheBackyardigans'' got this treatment as well since Nick Jr held off the last couple of episodes for three years, and dumped them in 2011, 2012 and 2013 respectively.

* ''WesternAnimation/{{Catscratch}}'', despite getting decent ratings, received only one season, which was inexplicably stretched out for two years. During the early stages of it's run, new episodes would usually air on Friday nights consistently with reruns on late mornings to early afternoons on weekends. From November 2006 to June 2007, its reruns were relegated to Saturday and Sunday mornings at 6:30 AM (with an exception being February 10, 2007, where they aired a 2-hour marathon before the final episode). After that time, the show wouldn't air a single rerun until November of the same year, where the network showed the first episode of every Nicktoon ever, and ever since, that was the last time the show ran on the main network. (It was later moved to and rerun on Nicktoons under a similarly-brief timeframe before that network discarded the show completely. The show then randomly returned 6 years later as part of a Christmas marathon (at a great time too) although just for 2 time slots.

gotta love how none of the morons who contributed to this page even bothered adding barnyard until someone else had to do it for them

* ''WesternAnimation/BackAtTheBarnyard'', despite having a fairly decent run throughout the entirety of the first season and the first half of season 2, got screwed over pretty quickly after September 2010, whereas episodes stopped premiering. Even reruns would stop for a while too, as it would air more often on its sister channel, Nicktoons, even though the show was airing pretty consistently beforehand. Eventually, this led to being kicked straight to Nicktoons an entire year later in 2011, which of course also led to the remainder of the second season being burned off in one go in just 2 months during a dead zone night. Another thing to add is that the show made a comeback to the main channel shortly after its cancellation around late 2011-early 2012, only to air at 6:30 am in the morning (which meant that people who either didn't have a working DVR or weren't willing enough to stay up late or sleep early were screwed) up until November 2012 where it was completely abandoned from the channel altogether. However, reruns still occasionally pop up on Nicktoons, a rarity for pre-2010 Nickelodeon shows not named ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' or ''WesternAnimation/TheFairlyOddparents'' (''Jimmy Neutron'' and ''Avatar'' being the only other ones that regularly gets this treatment), and the series even got to air on Creator/TeenNick as part of Creator/NickRewind for a brief time in 2019.

This is not Attack of the The Eye Creatures.

* As noted above at the top of this page, Nickelodeon would go on to favor their highest-rated shows at the expense of everything else. In recent years, this has applied less to their live-action programming and more to their animation slate. While Nick still has many live-action shows in production, every Nicktoon not named ''[=SpongeBob=]'' and (eventually) the ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'' would get screwed over without mercy.

** ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'' got a surprising case of this despite being adored by the network for 3 years. By late 2012, its premiere schedule would get slower and slower. Eventually reruns stopped on the main Nick channel and an entire year later, the poor cartoon got moved to Nicktoons. ** In 2017, the show stopped airing on the main Nickelodeon channel and was moved to Nicktoons, which is usually ''never'' a good sign for a cartoon. It didn't help that the show had its animation budget slashed during production, resulting in a visual downgrade during the back-half of the tenth and final season. The show ended casually in July with no news of an 11th season, followed up with series creator Creator/ButchHartman leaving Nickelodeon seven months later in 2018. Given the show had already reached SeasonalRot at this point, many long-time fans see its cancellation was for the better.

** Thankfully, after years of heavy vocal fan support, ''WesternAnimation/HeyArnoldTheJungleMovie'' was finally greenlit for production in 2016, airing in November of the following year. * Despite a small hiatus, ''WesternAnimation/ItsPony'' (ranking as the fourth best-performing show on Nickelodeon, right behind ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'', ''WesternAnimation/TheCasagrandes'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheLoudHouse'') was one of Nickelodeon's favorite shows during 2020, but that all changed when "Bramley Holiday" aired: The show disappeared from the network, and reruns only aired on the less popular Nicktoons Network. When it was finally about to come back in March 2021, Nickelodeon decided at the last minute to replace the premieres with more reruns of ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants''. New episodes eventually moved to the Nicktoons channel in October 2021, practically killing the show.
* Nickelodeon barely acknowledged ''WesternAnimation/KaBlam''. Its time slot was inconsistent, it received very little promotion throughout all four seasons it aired (with the exception of Henry and June hosting various blocks of Nickelodeon shows), and after its cancellation from low ratings in 2000 Nickelodeon did its best to make viewers forget this show existed. It reran on Nicktoons from 2002 (when the network was launched) to 2005, but with half of the episodes missing due to unknown reasons [[note]]though the episode "I Just Don't Get It" had an ''Action League Now'' short that was considered in bad taste following the 9/11 attacks[[/note]]. Even when Creator/TeenNick created [[Creator/NickRewind their '90s block]], they didn't air this show. To add insult to injury, the show is one of the ''only'' Nicktoons without any official releases on home video or DVD, with the series never getting an official release ''period'' until it was eventually added to Creator/ParamountPlus.
** Contrary to popular belief, this was not due to Nickelodeon having to pay royalties for the individual shorts--one of the creators of one short on a now-defunct fansite said that Nickelodeon owns all the rights to the individual shorts (even ''WesternAnimation/AngelaAnaconda'', which got a SpinOff on [[Creator/FoxKids a different, non-affiliated network]]).

* At first, ''WesternAnimation/MiddlemostPost'' was a decent success, earned a second season renewal, and got good ratings, even making it onto several top 150 cable shows lists. Reruns continued to air on Nicktoons (often in graveyard time slots) until February 14, 2016, but made a surprising return to television when the series gained a semi-regular spot on Creator/NickRewind on March 1, 2021 (which was not actually the first time the show aired on Creator/TeenNick, as it had a brief syndication run on the channel during its final months as The N in 2008), with the series even getting a special marathon taking up the entire block on June 26, 2021.

At least ''Sanjay and Craig'' returned to Nick to burn off the remaining episodes.

** Another infamous example of the show being neglected is that certain episodes have had a year-long wait apart from their sister episodes. For example, "Gary Takes A Bath" took 2 years to air on Nickelodeon, while its sister episode, "Shanghaied", premiered two years earlier.

* ''WesternAnimation/TakAndThePowerOfJuju'' suffered from this in a similar way that ''El Tigre'' did. It got canned after a season, due to horrific ratings. But if that wasn't bad enough, it was treated very poorly on Nicktoons Network. Reruns were handled decently until late 2009, where the show would often be seen hanging out in a graveyard time slot. The show would sometimes air outside of that time slot, however. But to make matters weirder, it is the only 2000 Nicktoon that didn't make it to the 2014 rebrand. But it at least got a somewhat proper dvd release that includes 10 episodes and a variety of bonus features.
* ''WesternAnimation/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles2012'' (the first Nick-produced ''Turtles'' series since Viacom acquired the franchise) was a weird example. Fans assumed this was to make room for the years-away ''WesternAnimation/RiseOfTheTeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'' (which would ''also'' be moved to Nicktoons, but within its ''first season'').
* ''WesternAnimation/TUFFPuppy'' was unceremoniously dropped not long into its second season. New episodes were either aired or promoted sporadically, and, if they were, often got preempted with ''[=SpongeBob=]'' reruns. It was banished to Nicktoons where it aired its final episode on April 4th, 2015 and after that was usually only seen in the same early morning slots as ''Fanboy & Chum Chum'', until it was taken off the air in July 2016, but made a surprising comeback to Nicktoons on November 1, 2020, when it would gain a semi-regular spot along with ''WesternAnimation/BackAtTheBarnyard” until February 5 of 2021.
* After only nine episodes, ''WesternAnimation/WelcomeToTheWayne'' went on hiatus. It did get renewed for a second season, but the announcement was made half a year later, with the rest of the first season still not slated to return. Meanwhile, the rest of the first season premiered internationally, ahead of the U.S. broadcast. The second season premiered in fall 2018 in countries such as Turkey, and eventually in the U.S. during spring 2019 on Nicktoons. Since then, the series has disappeared without a trace.

** Nickelodeon messed up a lot with the show during Season 3. ** When Viacom shifted around some key executives at Nickelodeon, it did more than separate the friendly relationship of Viacom and CBS--it eventually resulted in several "Rewind" DVD releases being postponed and eventually cancelled, which included the DVD release for this show's third and final season. * ''Hollywood Heights'', an attempt to create a telenovela-esque daily series, was supposed to be the big attraction of Nickelodeon's summer 2012 season. However, a confusing strategy which resulted it being branded as a [=Nick@Nite=] program by the time it started, along with an inexplicable looping of the first episode through the first week, which instead of attracting viewers, fatigued them from watching the series further, [[NetworkDecay and the usual complaints of why a teen soap opera was under the Nick@Nite label]] soured those plans. By the time it ended in August, it had been reduced to being stuck on [=TeenNick=] and only watched by diehards. Compare this to January 2014's ''Every Witch Way'', which received Nickelodeon's branding, a guaranteed weeknight timeslot, got a second season, and never changed its time slot in each of its month-long runs on Nickelodeon.
* ''Series/HouseOfAnubis'' got this pretty bad, possibly because it was made by the British version of the network. In the months leading up to the premier of the second season, they decided to re-show all the episodes of the first season. Fans were excited, as many episodes weren't on the Nick site, and so they haven't seen much of the show in a year. Well, after the first half of the season, they used up one of the episode slots to air the premier of ''Fred'' instead- and stopped showing episodes since. The third season got it bad as well. About six episodes in, they used the time slot to, instead, air yet another new show. It wasn't shown for two weeks until it was finally moved to [=TeenNick=]- a channel a portion of the fans didn't have, which caused ratings to drop.
* When explaining the cancellation of ''Series/HowToRock'', its [[WordOfGod executive producer]] talked about how Nickelodeon was "going through a transition right now". Said transition is also blamed for ''Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures'' and ''WebVideo/{{Fred}}: the Show'' also being cancelled after just one season each, as well as ''Victorious'' being axed during season 3. Nickelodeon wanted to stay in business with Lucas Cruikshank (the star of ''Fred''), but the poorly-received ''Series/MarvinMarvin'' was also canceled after one season too. While it was natural for Nickelodeon to cancel these shows due to low ratings (and mixed-to-negative reception), ''every show'' that premiered after ''How To Rock'''s cancellation got, in fact, worse ratings (such as ''Series/TheThundermans'').
** As for the "transition" referred to earlier, the network revealed in early 2013 that it was to air programming only for the ages 2-11 more, ignoring & alienating the 12-17 age group for now on. That response would lead to the tweens moving to arch-rival Disney Channel. By 2015, Disney was the #1 cable network in ratings while Nickelodeon's ratings were at an all time low.

* One very noticeable thing that the channel tends to do is that once a show gets removed from the schedule, it doesn't come back (unlike Nicktoons, which has been recently bringing back a bunch of old shows as reruns, like ''El Tigre'', ''Barnyard'', ''Rugrats'', etc.). Shows such as ''WesternAnimation/NiHaoKaiLan'', ''Series/TheFreshBeatBand'' and ''WesternAnimation/LittleBill'' unfortunately suffered from this, with the latter having to leave the earliest. And if you're wondering, ''WesternAnimation/GoDiegoGo'' wasn't saved from this either. Fortunately, all mentioned shows ([[OvershadowedByControversy with the exception of]] Little Bill) have been added on Paramount+.

* ''WesternAnimation/OggyAndTheCockroaches'' is an unfortunate case. Despite getting little promotion on Nickelodeon, it did well on the 3:30 PM slot on weekdays before most kids got home from school, and was primed to push from the original "airing only because we have to" status (Viacom picked up the worldwide broadcast rights but had to air the season at least once in the US despite the show not doing well on Fox Family in 1999) to "airing because it's getting good ratings" and into a post-afterschool spot. However, that all came to an end with the broadcast of the episode "(Un)Happy Camper," which featured a particular scene containing a background picture of a topless, large-breasted woman at the beach (complete with cartoonishly oversized nipples). Once TMZ [[http://www.tmz.com/2015/03/14/nickelodeon-topless-cartoon-boobs-nip-slip-oggy-and-the-cockroaches/ caught it]] creeping through the censors, parents (about 99% who hadn't even watched the only airing and mainly sent a copy-and-paste boilerplate complaint letter from a parent's group; remember, this all happened '''after''' it aired and TMZ posted about it) barraged the network with complaints and angry letters, and the episode wouldn't air again and was removed from the website. Nick quickly capitulated, and the show was pulled from Nick the moment the season's last episode was aired, being quickly forgotten in favor of other shows (often the usual afternoon wallpaper that was ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' reruns). After only one month, Nicktoons pulled reruns of ''Oggy'' to wash their hands of it completely. The producers (who faced no backlash in France at all for the scene) quickly replaced the image in future airings worldwide with a beach scene (and probably had a stern meeting with the background artist), which would have likely been a more appropriate way for Nickelodeon to react.
** In Asia, the case was different. See, thanks to meddling from Malaysian satellite provider Astro, ''Oggy'' was already airing on Cartoon Network years before. Astro then somehow meddled with ''Disney Channel'' to air the show as well, resulting in two different networks carrying the show and backlash forming among the channels' older demographics, who see the show as lowbrow entertainment for simpletons (for some reason, Astro's meddling not only applied to the Malaysian feed but Southeast Asia-wide). When it was announced that Nick will become the third network to air the show (alongside CN and Disney to boot), backlash reached critical mass. Many Asian viewers, especially the aforementioned fans who don't like Oggy, would rather that Nick not air the show. Nick wisely stopped promoting it and started promoting ''WesternAnimation/ALVINNNAndTheChipmunks'' instead.
* While ''WesternAnimation/OlliesPack'' got a decent start with new episodes airing on weekday afternoons at 4:00pm for a few months, reruns were sparse, only airing when there was a week of new episodes. After airing most of the series in a bomb format throughout the summer months, Nick eventually started to give up on it. The show had a Halloween episode air on a Saturday afternoon in October and a planned week of premieres in December was pulled halfway through due to abysmal ratings. In May 2021, the show eventually got shifted to Nicktoons to air its final episodes. The kicker? They all aired at 3:30am, when no kids were watching, and were placed in the middle of the channel's all-night ''WesternAnimation/SpongeBobSquarePants'' marathons.

* Nickelodeon has been erasing ''WesternAnimation/{{Pelswick}}'' and his show out of their history. They don't even want to talk about Pelswick anymore. This could be due to the show getting ScrewedByTheLawyers: as soon as Nickelodeon lost the syndication rights to the show, everything went back to Creator/{{Nelvana}} and Nick couldn't do anything with the show anymore.

After the Season 1 finale aired in December 2014, no new episodes aired until six months later. When the show was first announced [[TheyCopiedItSoItSucks many Unikitty! fans quickly called the show a rip-off]]. After the sneak peek premiere aired on Nickelodeon, the show would automatically be passed down to Nicktoons, with new episodes premiering at 9 PM, causing its ratings to plummet hard. Nick gave it another chance as it was actually added back to the main channel and was somewhat [[AdoredBytheNetwork adored]] for a couple of months. This didn't last long; it was shafted to Nicktoons once again after the 15th episode (giving RBUK the honor of being one of the few shows to be shafted to Nicktoons twice). Back there, it was only mentioned by its initials, the show's theme song was cut from airings and its segments now aired separately (excluding the last two episodes). By the time the season finale had aired, it disappeared from the network completely a week or two later; its time slots were preempted with reruns of ''WesternAnimation/SanjayAndCraig'' (and later ''WesternAnimation/ItsPony''), with no announcement of a second season. However, Nick still airs it internationally (except in the UK, Spain, and Portugal).

* ''Series/JacksBigMusicShow'', while wasn't as mistreated as its fellow puppet shows that came before and after it, had very few DVD releases (in total, 7 of its episodes were released on DVD), didn't air as much as other shows, would air once a month during Nick Jr.’s 2012 rebrand if you were lucky, was pulled from the Noggin channel after 2 seasons, and finally had its very last rerun buried under an early morning timeslot. ** Nickelodeon messed up a lot with the show during Season 3.
