We only see three categories of people; Elsevarians, Outworlders, and Ragusniks. Mikhail Ragusnik was one of the founding members of Elsevere, and they handle the sanitation machines, which turn the world's waste into fertilizer and water. The current Ragusnik, Igor, tries to go on strike, but an Outworlder volunteers to learn the job, breaking the strike. Upon leaving the Ragusnik estate, the Outworlder learns they've been exiled; they're now a permanent member of the Ragusnik caste. "Each individual Elseverian fits into a comfortable niche. The appearance of a stranger without fixed caste is unsettling."

However, when Stanley breaks the ice, he doesn't fall straight to the bottom, he slowly descends as if he was in water, and can float where he is without hitting the bottom. No water surface is visible, either, showing that birds fly and fish swim in the same substance.

"Green Patches": The organisms of Saybrook's Planet have green patches that grants Psychic Powers. Their Telepathy is used to facilitate a Genius Loci where life has formed a global organism that lives in blissful cooperation with everything else.
# Film.LifeGamble: The titular Life Gamble finally happens in the hour-mark of the film, when Yun-Xiang and Mo Jun-feng decides to engage in one last life-or-death gamble.
