* [[KnightTemplar General Dru-Zod]] is the charismatic head of the House of Zod who sought to "save" Krypton by conquering it, only to be banished to the Phantom Zone. Upon being freed on parole in the 31st century, General Zod planned to assert his dominion over the cosmos, smuggling his followers and Daxamite supporters to a world under a yellow sun so they could gain ultimate power. Despite being foiled by the Legion of Super-Heroes, Zod's son traveled to the past to free his father again, subsequently banishing Superboy to the Phantom Zone. Finding Superboy suffering from mental instability, General Zod brings him into his confidence and slowly conditions him into an undyingly loyal soldier, a process he has implicitly conducted many times before. Zod uses Superboy as bait for heroes seeking to rescue him, with his House's superior understanding of the abilities granted to them by the Zone allowing them to easily defeat Nightwing's team and steal his Kryptonite. Upon being freed once more, General Zod uses the Kryptonite and Ma'alefa'ak's telekinesis to incapacitate Superman without harming his family, before attempting to have Superboy publicly execute the Man of Steel as a demonstration of his might.

* [[FakeDefector Cassandra Savage]], the fanatically loyal daughter of Vandal himself, proves to be just as brilliant as her father, faithfully serving him in tasks ranging from personally piloting the massive Warworld against Starro to staging terrorist attacks on behalf of Lex Luthor. In collaboration with Lady Shiva and the League of Shadows, Cassandra sought to exploit the wavering loyalty of the assassin Onyx to steal intelligence from the Justice League, allowing her to eavesdrop on a plan for Cassandra to pretend to defect and infiltrate the heroes. When Onyx subsequently attempted to warn the Justice League, Cassandra followed after her and claimed Onyx was a double-agent sent to sabotage her own defection; the ensuing confusion, helped along by frequent attacks by the Shadows, allows Cassandra to subtly release a swarm of nanotech infiltrators to hack into the Justice League's computers in the chaos. Cassandra further uses the Shadows' attacks to give Lady Shiva the chance to kidnap her daughter, Orphan, and hold her hostage, allowing Cassandra to go after her in a "rescue" mission--bringing the stolen intelligence, Artemis, and Onyx into the Shadows' clutches in one fell swoop.

*** Jason Todd, once a cruel child full of rage against the villains of Gotham, matures into the stoic yet brilliant AntiHero known as the Red Hood. Adopted by Batman after almost singlehandedly defeating the gang that got his brother killed, Jason took advantage of his teachings to become a brutal vigilante in his own right, splitting from his mentor when his violent tendencies drove them apart. Presumed dead after being captured and tortured by the Joker, Jason truthfully managed to fake his death and left the city to find himself, returning years later resolved to finish his ruthless mission. Jason begins his plot by surveilling the various heroes and villains of Gotham, sabotaging Deathstroke's plan to kill Bruce in the process, before moving on to expertly capture Tim, Bruce, and the Joker. Jason holds Tim hostage in an effort to force Bruce to finally kill the mad clown, and though ultimately failing, meets his fate with reserved acceptance and acknowledgement of his flaws, before throwing himself to his apparent death so Bruce can move on and "Save the Robin who needs [him]."
