* After a corporation officially adopted him as a baby, Truman Burbank's whole life has been documented and broadcasted for the whole world to see (all the while being unaware that he's being filmed). The show's production even had the ''wild'' idea of building a dome around him, with a fake town with lots of hiding cameras to capture Truman's authentic emotions. To prevent Truman from ever leaving the set or even desiring to leave his town, the show's creator and director Christof decided to scare young Truman making him witness his (in-show) father's "death" (developing a fear for the water in the process) as well as frequently broadcasting messages against travelling. Everything on the show would run smoothly for many decades until one day, Truman begins to notice several unusual things happening to him. A random spotlight falling from the sky, a random radio signal telling what he's doing at the moment, or his dead father seemingly appearing back into his life. Convinced that someone is watching him and questioning everything he has ever known, Truman tries to leave town to find his former crush Sylvia, who was taken away from him many years ago for trying to reveal the truth of his existence to him. Almost everyone else in the production tries to prevent him from escaping by putting increasingly elaborate ruses to block him. Truman, however, is determined to leave, even going so far as to face his fear of the water by crossing a bridge and later sailing his boat though the artificial lake and eventually reaching the end of the dome. Christof then reveals himself to Truman, tells him the truth about his life but tried to convince him to stay inside. But Truman faces his supposed audience, says his greetings one last time and leaves the dome; cancelling the show in the process.
* Due to the show's simple premise & relatability, the show was even popular with the gods at the Trope Pantheon, who were invested in Truman's life since the first airing of the show in Pantheonic TV. Although some deities (like the viewers in Truman's realm) got over the show after it ended, there are those who wanted to know what happened to the former star after his story ended. Unfortunately, there was no known official records of what happened to him after exiting the dome. The deities who feel sorry for him and those who think he deserved a title for his bravery decided to make an ascension request for the former star. After the request approved, there were several attempts to bring him into the Pantheon without much success, as Truman ignored all the invitation letters sent to him. It was only after several representatives from the Pantheon were able to get in contact with the "Free Truman" group [[note]] which aims to have Truman released from the dome and end the show) and has Sylvia as one of their members [[/note]] under the guise of wanting to help the former star have a better life, were they able to get in touch with Truman himself. It was tough convincing a skeptical former star to become a God representing those whose lives where secretly filmed for a RealityTV show, as he feared he would be held and setup for other show yet again. It was only after being told that he can bring his lover Sylvia as his herald and that he can return to the mortal realm and surrender his title anytime he pleased, did Truman reluctantly agreed to stay.
* Ever since his ascension, Truman is currently seeking therapy treatment in order to overcome his trauma brought upon from his experiences (namely his recent near-death experience, his difficulty to trust anyone who isn't Sylvia or the "Free Truman" movement members and adjusting to a "normal" unscripted lifestyle). It was somewhat difficult considered he is almost 30 by the time he discovered the truth about his life, but good-aligned therapist in the Pantheon promised to try their best. He recently learn of the real life mental condition named after him "Truman Show Delusion", in which the person believes they were being watched as part of a TV show or have cameras everywhere watching their every move. Truman doesn't exbibit those delusions himself (since most of his suspicions came from justified observations) but he pities those who are suffering from this mental anguish and hope they would get help they need like he does.
* To this day, Truman refuses to disclose what happened to him after he exited the dome. He even refuse to disclosed whether he has travelled to Fiji or not. Sometime after staying in the realm for a while, he became more comfortable discussing his life in Pantheon. When he's not feeling distrusting about the people he meets, Truman is a friendly guy who likes to do small chats to the people he knows and trusts. Still, as he only got out of the dome recently, it took him a bit of time to get used to the fanatical stuff in the Pantheon (on top of a new normal life like in the mortal realm). However, since reuniting with Sylvia, he seems to be back to his old cheery self again, provided that you don't pissed him off by randomly pestering him (like some fans and paparazzi would do).

** He quickly discovers he's not the only one who was secretly filmed for an television audience. Apparently, Homer Simpson did this happened to him about a handful of times (all of those time were not good for him). The 10 year old Timmy Turner was also a subject of a reality show, in which the whole audience of fairies would secretly watch his escapades. Truman certainly didn't approve his solution of getting out of his contact by [[spoiler:having [[Pantheon/{{Subjects}} Denzel Crocker]] replace him]] (he would prefer if the whole show was cancelled), but he's glad Timmy was clever enough to get out of that situation. Another boy, Greg Heffley, thinks he himself was on a TV show because he watched a movie similar to Truman's experiences, to the point that he thinks everyone he knows are all just actors and robots. Greg tried to prove this by spraying his dad with a hose but was grounded for it. Not wanting to leave it to chance if it was true, Truman promised to look into these claims further to help the boy out.

** While Truman was never forced to kill anyone during his time in the spotlight, he still feels shocked and pitiful for those who are forced to do so, especially if they were children. He approached Shuichi Saihara due to their similar bad experiences with Reality TV [[spoiler:and their attempts to escape from it]], and they have been good allies ever since. Katniss Everdeen sympathize with Truman for also being exploited for entertainment, saying that she is sorry that he was being unaware of his situation his entire life. Truman felt sorry for her for being forced to participate in The Hunger Game as a sacrifice. It helps that both of them eventually found the strength to take control of their life.

** Although Jonas and Jimmy's reasons for being sheltered are different, their stories are no less relatable for Truman. Having also been isolated within a Community with a dark secret, Jonas was glad for Truman was able to escape after learning the truth. Jimmy, on the other hand, was isolated and keep in a bubble due to being born without an immune system ([[spoiler:but kept being in the bubble despite gaining an immune system since he was 4 as a lie by his overprotectiveness mother]]). Truman personally finds Jimmy's efforts to reunite with his crush Chloe heartwarming, as someone who also tried ([[spoiler:and succeed]]) with reuniting with Sylvia.
** Deadpool felt oddly sympathetic to Truman due to how he recognized his status as the "main character" of a show. However, Truman is annoyed with Deadpool craziness and usually avoid him. For the most part, Truman doesn't like the idea that he himself is a fictional character, as he doesn't wants things to revolve around him and preventing him to do what he wants. Viola (from Cassette Beasts group) had a brief existential crisis when she learned she was a fictional character in some universes, specifically when she found out she was actually Viola of Messaline from [[Pantheon/TheatreAndSpectacle William Shakespeare]]'s ''Twelfth Night''. But that information did not deter her from defying her fate and forge her own path in her current universe. Due to their determination to be independent as well as knowing the pains of having to lose (and try to reunite) with their loved one, both Truman and Viola gained mutual respect for each other.
* Because of his experience, he ''really'' dislike the House of Theater due to how he recognizes the situation of the characters in the plays the House usually performed. Although he understand that they are only doing what they are told for their roles, Truman still finds it hard to trust many deified actors in general. He also harbors a distaste for TV producers as well due to the fact that the creatives behind the show put him into his situation in the first place. He also dislikes being seen on camera. This is why he doesn't like most reporters and paparazzies, especially the sleazy ones.
* There were several attempts to recreate The Truman Show's concept in the Pantheon (from a single person to planetary-wide surveillance), most to fill the void left by the original show's cancellation. However, all of them were rejected due to Truman and Sylvia's protest efforts. Disgusted by the idea of various groups trying to unknowingly using people for entertainment, they make sure that those kind of shows don't even make it into production once their allies let them know those were in the works. Truman and his various allies are also one of the reasons why various 'live' {{Deadly Game}}s like Literature/TheHungerGames, [[Franchise/{{Danganronpa}} The Killing Game]] or [[VideoGame/MadWorld Death Watch]] have not been recreate in the Pantheon. The Death Watch commentators [[Pantheon/{{Gaming}} Howard and Kreese]] are quick voice their frustrations about it in one of their broadcasts.

* To be told, Truman is not a particularly religious man. Sure, he did talked to a man in the sky that claims to be his creator (which some religious people and film analysists took it as a metaphor for seeing God). However, in hindsight, he was only talking to a mere old man that was speaking to him in an intercom above. He doesn't really know what to think about actual gods in the Pantheon other than express his displeasure about the gods who want to control over the lives of mortals. He certainly hated [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH]] for wanting to create a WorldOfSilence, not unlike how Truman's life was completely controlled by the media company filming it. He also hated the god who also goes by [[spoiler:Chuck Shurley]] for manipulating his world for his own entertainment.
* Truman used to have a job as a life insurance salesman and hasn't returned to that job since entering a private life in the mortal realm nor being a deity in the Pantheon. Not that it would suit him to return anyway since his job was never real and that people on this realm get to be revived anyway, making selling life insurance kinda worthless. With that free time, Truman decided to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming an explorer as there's noone preventing him for travelling anymore. In most recent days, Truman likes to travel a lot, sometimes with Sylvia, sometimes by himself. You can often see him travelling in the House of Pantheon/{{Travel}} and its subhouse of Pantheon/{{Touring}}, riding around to visit various destinations in the Pantheon. Of course, not all off the places in this realm are safe, and Truman learned the hard way to not ignore people's warnings sometimes, with him nearly getting himself killed again. But overall, he's glad of the freedom he has gained since exiting the dome.
** In the past, Truman's fear of the water was so bad that even standing in a port or looking at a submerged boat in the shore would make him really anxious. Ever since conquering his fear of the open water, Truman's also retaking boating lessons for fun and as exposure therapy. So far, he's met one other person who manages overcome their fear of the water. That being the heroic Finn the Human, who had done so to fulfil the dying wish of his idol as well as killing the physical manifestation of his fear. One deity jokingly suggest Truman should meet [[Pantheon/WaterAndMoisture The Nuckelavee]], a horse-like fairy creature that cannot stand freshwater (and only freshwater) and refuses to cross any rivers or streams. But given its evil nature, Finn warned him not to meet it. Thankfully, due to his recent travel experiences in the Pantheon, Truman listened to Finn's advise.
* About Sylvia & Meryl: She was just a background extra who goes by "Lauren" whom Truman had a crush on when he was in college. Because she was not Truman's intended love interest and also because she tried to tell him the truth about the show while together on the beach, she was taken away right in front of Truman by her 'father' (who was also an actor) who told him she was going away to Fiji. In the years since, he kept her memory alive by keeping her sweater, remember the real name she told him and making a picture of her face from collage of various face parts from magazines he ripped away, hoping that one day he would leave his town and go to Fiji to see her again. In the meantime, he married another college student Meryl (as a rebound, as one viewer speculated), although they don't have much in common interest wise. Due to Meryl only being concerned about her acting role and Truman's increasing paranoia, their relationship imploded due to Truman's violent outburst and her not being able to be address his emotional concerns.
** One of the few things Truman was willing to disclose about his mortal life was that he was now dating Sylvia. Being one of the few people he's met who didn't try to deceive him, she has been a big help to him in his transition to the outside world. During one of their travels, they often visited the House of Pantheon/LoveAndAffection. {Something about the couple wanting to hear other love stories from other deities similar to their love story}.

* Is worried that the entire Tropes Pantheon might be a fake created by a bunch of people on the internet for entertainment... No, it couldn't be. Some deified conspiracy theorists encouraged him to look into his suspicious further. He asked several deities (including those with MediumAwareness) for back up his claims but none of them had the heart to tell him the truth. He eventually learned the truth (he refuse to disclose how he knows) and he and Sylvia marched into The Court of the Gods angrily demanding answers. The Court said it was standard procedure to record the activities of any ascended deity, with interactions orchestrated by powers beyond their comprehension, and the reason why they didn't tell him sooner was because they are bound by the mechanics of the trope he was holding. That said, his allies and the friendships he made with them are genuine and unlike his show, there was never done of malice but to give him a better life in the Pantheon compared to his time in the mortal realm. They do understand should he would try to renounce his title after knowing the truth. After much thinking, Truman decided to still keep the title, deciding to use it to help those who are in a similar situation as him. However, he makes a request to ''never'' record his activities without his direct permission moving forward and exercise his right to only share what he is willing to share.

He doesn't really know what to think about actual gods in the Pantheon other than express his displeasure about gods who want to control over the lives of mortals. He certainly hated [[Pantheon/ReligionAndFaith YHVH]] for wanting to create a WorldOfSilence, not unlike how Truman's life was completely controlled by the media company filming it. He also hated the god who also goes by [[spoiler:Chuck Shurley]] for manipulating his world for his own entertainment.

Not that it would suit him to return anyway since his job was never real and that people on this realm get to be revived anyway, making selling life insurance kinda worthless. With that free time, Truman decided to fulfil his lifelong dream of becoming an explorer as there's noone preventing him for travelling anymore. In most recent days, Truman likes to travel a lot, sometimes with Sylvia, sometimes by himself. Of course, not all off the places in this realm are safe, and Truman learned the hard way to not ignore people's warnings sometimes. So after the place closed down, I set out on my own to try and become a trivia game show host. When that didn't pan out, I decided to kidnap to people and make them play my own game show called ''Trivia Murder Party'', a blend of my passions for Trivia and Murder. Next thing you know, I found myself surrounded by several dark hooded figures, kinda scary even for myself. They told wanted me that I was chosen as a God, more specifically of being a '''FairPlayVillain''' because although I put my victims in my deadly minigames, they always have a chance to survive as long as they play along and win. Even in minigames where it's more likely to kill them and it's pure RNG (like my Loser Wheel), my victims can also survive that somehow too. Even thought I'm very annoyed when that happens, I do admit to sticking to my rules most of the time, it's in the sprit of a party game after all, even if it involves murder.

* I tried to pitch a TV adaptation of my game to several game show hosts, who were fine with their contestants getting hurt. They were interested in doing a collaboration with me at first, but we later split due to "CreativeDifferences". Killian wanted to make not only my mini-games unwinnable but also rigged the trivia to make all the choices wrong (which rubs me the wrong way). Vox wanted to axed the trivia aspects of my game as he thinks the viewers would find it boring (and he didn't like to give away any prize money). Chris, the ''Total Drama'' guy, was fine with my game, but only requested to remove the murder-y aspects (not because he cared about his contestants but because his network said they won't allow it). I did managed to make pitch to Professor Genki, who liked my idea and said that he's interested in working with me. He has this idea for a potential spin-off that includes trivia to his "Ethical" trap course. I think adding a course where you get money by shooting people would be fun and I'm starting to warm up to idea of dressing you up in animal suits.

* Michael Newman is a normal but very busy architect. Having to please his overbearing boss, he often chose work over spending time with his family despite his efforts to still be in their lives. One day, when he gets frustrated with having too many remotes in his house, he goes to a retail store to buy a new universal remote. After he falls in a bed and then goes inside a room marked "Beyond", he meets a mysterious man named Morty and explains his dilemma to him. Morty then gives him a free remote and gives some tips on its usage, but warns that it can never be returned. After playing with the remote, Michael realizes it has the power to control reality much like a TV (like slowing down or fast forwarding time) and starts to use it for selfish reasons. He then uses it to skip/fast forward the boring and dull parts of his life. However during these fast forwards, he has no control over his body, going through "auto-pilot" and defaulting to his most prominent parts of his personality without any of his compassion, and being unable to remember events that he skipped.
** Despite this knowledge and a warning from Morty about using the remote this way, he continues to use it to get ahead of his job and later skipping to his promotion a year later. However, during that one year period, his relations with his wife got increasingly strained, his kids are growing older and distant, and his dog had died. Because he used the remote a lot, it starts auto-skip by itself based on his preferences. He regrets having to use the remote and tried to get rid or destroy it, but can't do so no matter how hard he tries. Years worth of skips later and Michael had become the CEO of his firm, but at the cost of his declining health, his now-divorced wife, his children now having grown-up into adulthood, and his father dying with Michael having missing his funeral. At Michael's father's grave, Morty apologized to Michael as he didn't intent to take his father's soul and reveals to him that he's [[TheGrimReaper the Angel of Death]]. Michael was enraged and frightened by this revelation; making him fast-forward to a happier time, at his son's wedding.
** Michael is relived to have not missed his son's wedding and he later shares a dance with his ex-wife. When overhears his daughter refer to her step-dad as "Dad", the thought of being replaced stressed him out, causing him to have another heart attack. When Michael awakens at the hospital, a visiting Morty tells him that Michael is responsible for his own actions by having to skip out on his own personal life, long before he had met him. After he leaves, his kids visited him; her daughter clarifies that she views both Michael and her step-dad as her fathers, and his son tells him that he skipped his honeymoon to help fix issues with the firm. Fearing that his son will make the same mistakes and despite his weakened state, Michael tries to chase him down as he leaves the hospital. He suddenly collapse and dies, not before telling his son to put family first and reassuring that he still loves his ex-wife and kids. Michael reawakens to the bed at the retail store, but despite thinking it was all a dream, he took his dream to heart and chooses to spend time with his family more. When the remote suddenly reappears in his kitchen (with a note from Morty saying he's given him a second chance 'cause he knows he's going to do the right thing), without a second thought, Michael throws the remote in the trash, which doesn't reappear in his hand.
* Sometime after his crazy dream, Michael went to "Bed Bath and Beyond" again to shop for items for an upcoming family trip. As he lay on a bed out of exhaustion, when he noticed that the sign above the door where it used to read "Beyond" now reads as "Trope Pantheon". Curiously peaked him once again as he enters the door; he walked a very long hallway and at the end, as greeted to a fancy-looking brightly-lit courtroom with people he didn't recognized. Michael was in-awe until he caught the glimpse of a familiar face; it was Morty and Michael's face suddenly frowned in annoyance.

** Although still confused, Michael decided to take the court's offer upon Morty's advice. After the court gave Michael a brief overview on the perks of being a god, including being able to return to his home dimension with little time passing since he entered it, Michael decided to give being a god a shot. Before leaving the court, he also check out the "mortifications" in the menu and settings; it included the ability to go to and fro his home and The Pantheon, the ability to disable the auto-forward feature (so that it doesn't fast-forward without his permission), enable offscreen replay (so replay scenes he was not present for), and disable "return to owner" function (so that the remote doesn't always return to him). Despite these added quality of life features, Michael is still a bit hesitant about using the remote and decides to use the remote for emergencies only. He still wonders why Morty and The Court thinks he's a good fit for being a god.
* One of the first things Morty advised to Michael after gaining his godhood was if he is going to survive the Pantheon, he's going to need some allies. The architect was lucky enough to be invited by a wealthy moneylender named Ebenezer Scrooge, to a fancy dinner with his associates at his home in the Hall of Pantheon/XmasAndYule, of all places. Michael assumed he was being invited to go some architect-related business meeting, especially when he met the one who invited him, an old no-nonsense curmudgeon. When Michael and Scrooge went to the dinner room, dropped his cranky attitude and his demeanor changed into a happier more welcoming one.
** {Meeting other people who got their lessons via supernatural means}
* After learning that he wasn't the first person to have ever used a reality-warping remote, Michael became curious and seek other remote users to know some tips on how to responsibly use the remote from their experience. To his surprise, he learned that some of them are children, a little older than his son Ben. One child he met was the fairy godchild Timmy, [[WesternAnimation/ChannelChasers who wished to have a remote for himself]] to escape to [[TrappedInTVLand TVLand]], all because he wanted to escape his terrible home-life and prevent himself from growing up (as he would lose his beloved fairies after he turned 18). His two remotes were able to control the realities of both [=TVLand=] and the Real World (although he doesn't have it anymore as he wished it away). His advise to Michael is to never let a certain babysitter named Vicky get a hold of his remote as she could use it for her own evil needs (and don't never let her babysit his kids either). Michael noted the advise; in addition, hearing Timmy's story makes him feel more motivated to not be a neglectful parent like Timmy's parents were.
** Another child he met was a Japanese boy named Nobita and his robotic cat buddy Doraemon; the latter gave his futuristic remote to the former to help him out in his homework, but the kid ended up using the remote to play pranks to his bullies and [[PowerPerversionPotential taking a peak of his crush]]. Doraemon's remote works similarily to Michael's, except that it can only target a few people (rather than everyone) and its beams can be reflected by Doraemon's mirror. Given that Nobita used the remote irresponsibly and he did't want the kid to make the same mistakes he did, Michael told Nobita about his story as cautionary tale about abusing the remote's power. Nobita, after imagining using Michael's remote in the future and how it would affect his childhood crush (and future wife) Shizuka, starts to worry about ever using any reality-warping remotes and takes Michael's advice.
** He's also heard the remote stories from other deities. For [[Pantheon/{{Personalities}} The Pink Panther]], he got his Universal Remote delivered to him after he broke his normal TV remote. His new remote doesn't work on TV but works on everything else; but the Panther couldn't figure out what his remote button does as it keeps controlling random things, so he just ended up using it to refill his glass of water. The Panther still has his remote and once requested Michael do something about the Panther's remote to be slightly useful again, to which the architect said that he can't. For [[Pantheon/ChildBehavior Dennis the Menace]], his friend [=PeeBee=] invented a Time Tuner, which also acts similarity to Nobita's limited target remote but it broke down after overuse. Given Dennis's reputation as a trickster, he would not allow the little twerp to have his remote to pull some tricks again.
** For [[Pantheon/MediaAndConnectivity Gumball Watterson]], his first reaction to seeing Michael and the remote while the two are visiting the Great Treasury, was to smack the remote out of his hands and trying to stomp it on the ground. The remote doesn't break fortunately and Gumball, once realizing his actions, apologized to a confused Michael as the blue cat didn't understand why he instinctively did that. The architect learned earlier (while looking into remote-related stories) that [[Recap/TheAmazingWorldOfGumballS4E40TheDisaster someone with a universal remote once tried to ruin Gumball's life]] (as retribution for perceiving that Gumball ruined his life first). [[Recap/TheAmazingWorldOfGumballS5E1TheRerun Gumball put a stop to his plan]] and his nemesis undid all the changes (and made Gumball and his family forget) after his enemy had a change of heart. Michael tried to tell the cat what happened to help ease his mind, but Gumball tells him to ignore the whole incident, as [[StatusQuoIsGod he has a feeling he is not supposed to know that information at all]].

While Michael realizes that Morty was only looking out of his wellbeing and the other Death Gods are pretty chill as well (provided he didn't use the remote to cheap dying), the architect still feels uneasy about the whole thing given his previous experiences.
* After hearing news about a newly ascended remote, the heroic [[Pantheon/DCComics Teen Titans]] visited Michael to make sure he isn't like their old enemy Control Freak, another reality-warping remote user. Their meeting went well as Michael expressed has no intentions to use the remote for crime or to other selfish reasons. The Titans warning the architect about Control Freak's crimes and Michael promised them he would not make him his high priest. Speaking of superheroes, Michael recently got acquainted with John Stewart, one of the Green Lanterns from Earth and a fellow architect. Michael reach out to John as he interested in seeing an architect who became a superhero and John obliged meeting him after learning about him from the Titans. Despite Michael's slight jealousy of John's ring (which allows him to do complex light constructs), he doesn't have any intentions to join him and become a superhero using the remote. John understands his decision as the Green Lantern mentions that being a hero is also time-consuming commitment and he advice Michael should just stick with being more committed to his family.

* One day, when a man named Michael Newman gets frustrated with having too many remotes in his house; so he goes to a "Bed Bath and Beyond" store to buy a new universal remote. After he falls in a bed and then goes inside a room marked "Beyond", he meets a mysterious man named Morty (who is secretly the Angel of Death). Michael explains his personal dilemma to him; wanting a device that can do all things for him, making his life easier, quicker and not complicated. Morty then introduces him to the Universal Remote and gives some tips on its usage; just point and click and the remote would program itself. Morty then gives the remote for free but warns that it can never be returned. After playing with the remote, Michael realizes it has the power to control reality much like a TV (like slowing down, pausing, controls sounds, or fast forwarding time) and starts to use it for selfish reasons. He then uses it to skip/fast forward the boring and dull parts of his life. However during these fast forwards, he has no control over his body and going through "auto-pilot".
** Despite this knowledge and a warning from Morty about using the remote this way, he continues to use it to get ahead of his job but at the cost of his life spiraling downward. Because he used the remote a lot, it starts auto-skip by itself based on his preferences, missing more valuable time with his family and later fast-forwarding to his death. Michael reawakens to the bed at the retail store, but despite thinking it was all a dream, he took his dream to heart and chooses to spend time with his family more. When the remote suddenly reappears in his kitchen (with a note from Morty saying he's given him a second chance 'cause he knows he's going to do the right thing). Without a second thought, Michael throws the remote in the trash, which doesn't reappear in his hand.
* Right after Michael had thrown the remote in the trash bin, a random portal was briefly created, sending the remote falling from the sky and into the Pantheonic landfill. Somehow, a random quasideity had found the remote while digging through trash, played with it, discovered its abilities and used the remote for various petty crimes. This lead to a wide-scale crime wave that officers struggled to understand. Several months later, the same deity went to the House of Pantheon/TimeAndTemporality as they had claims that the remote is causing them to fast-forward themselves in time uncontrollability, forcing them to confess to their crimes and seek help. The Time Enforcers had never seen such a device, and had to call the tech experts at the House of Pantheon/MachineryAndTechnology to help study it. From there, the user can select a variety of options to review their past experiences. During '''Rewind''', the mindscape turns into a recreation of the chosen memory but it does not affect the actual past. It can view any memory (in a third-person perspective) from the user's date of conception to the present, as long as the user is present or is there to witness it. It also has a '''Commentary''' mode, where a narrator, voiced by Creator/JamesEarlJones, makes observations on what's happening around the user and what other people around him are thinking of.
** '''Time Manipulation''': Pointing and click the remote to someone can cause them to either freeze in place (Pause), slow down their movements (Slow-Mo) or speed them up. It not only affects the target but also literally everyone and everything else. The user, in Pause mode, remains unaffected and can move objects and people. You can also hurt people while in this state, with the damage inflicted by the user being felt by the target after the pausing has ended. Based on testing in the Pantheon, besides the user, Classical Gods, Omnipotent-level Reality Warpers, and Death Deities are the few beings to not be affected by the remote's effects.
** '''Sound and Appearance''': It can increase the volume of the target's voice/sound (even from far way) or remove them entirely (like a Mute button). The Language function can either change the language of everyone in the vicinity, including the user, as well as, make the user understand the foreign language of their choosing. In the Pantheon, the Language function isn't that useful where people of all nationalities can understand each other, but can change a person's default language they mainly speak. The remote can also change the size and width of a target as well as their color. Interestingly, only the user can notice these aesthetic changes and that the remote can also make changes to the user as well.
** '''Fast-Forward''': This allow the user to skip to a certain point in the future. Between the present and the point they decide to skip to, their mind jumps ahead into the future while their body goes through "auto-pilot". During this, the user has no control over their body and its actions would default to their most prominent parts of their personality without any of their compassion. They are also unable to remember events that they have skipped. Use it enough times and it will eventually be programmed to skip by itself based on how the user uses it (i.e. if a user frequently uses it to skip cold showers, it would eventually skip every time they take a cold shower). If given a set goal with a time period (like skipping to the time they get a promotion), the auto-piloted body would driven to achieve said goal until their mind returns to their body in the future. The only proved way to stop the remote from skipping itself is if the user ''dies''.

Starting as a fan of other online reviewers in the late 00's, he became a music reviewer since he didn't see anyone doing music reviews in a video format at the time. His main [[TheGimmick gimmick]] is that he is always backlit, so he projects a dark silhouette of himself and his face is never publicly revealed to his audience[[note]]except in a few vlogs from other content creators[[/note]]. It was done mostly for privacy reasons, but later kept the look to stand out against his other reviewers (and 'cause he liked that look in general). When he's "out of the shadows", he covers the upper half of his face with a black cloth. The 3 main series on his channel are: ''Todd's Pop Song Reviews'', which reviews/commentates the current hit songs on the Billboard Hot 100; ''One Hit Wonderland'', which gives a retrospective on One-Hit Wonders before and after their famous hit and if they deserve a more lasting career, and ''Trainwreckords'', which analyses [[CreatorKiller not-so well received album]] that ended their artist's mainstream relevancy. He also does the occasional movie musical related reviews and co-host the podcast ''Song vs Song'' where they compare two similar songs.
* Todd first learn of the Trope Pantheon from other online reviewers, since fellow reviewer Linkara already had a position as a deity of hat-related stuff. After Todd got kicked out of his apartment yet again due to noise complaints (and having trouble finding a new place to stay), Todd reluctantly called Linkara if he can crash in on his "fancy god-place". The comic reviewer entertained Todd's request and joking suggested to apply for a position as a god to get a new temple himself. Todd took that advise seriously (as he was kinda desperate) and decided to get himself acquainted in this new realm, while staying in Linkara's temple for a while. During his stay (and as he tried to figure out which trope to apply for), he realized that while there are a ton of musical deities and a few reviewer deities of different fields, no music reviewers have ascended yet. Seeing an opportunity, he decided fully apply for godhood to fill that empty niche and hope to gain an additional audience in the Pantheon (since [=YouTube=] is still accessible in this strange realm). Luckily, he got an offer to represent '''Unseen Faces''' after its former holder vacated the temple to become a herald for someone else.
* His temple looks like a normal apartment and has a video set set-up where he does his reviews. By design (and by his request) it is very difficult to locate, even within his own hall. Although he no longer has roommates in his new place, he still gets noise complaints from neighboring temples. He rarely goes out of his temple and little is known about what he does when not doing his reviews and side-projects (besides maybe watching movies and TV shows). He does go out to the Houses of Pantheon/{{Knowledge}} or Pantheon/MediaAndConnectivity for research purposes or when he's looking for rare concert or music clips for his videos. Due to his frequent trips to the House of Pantheon/MediaAndConnectivity, it caught the attention of the lewd artist ZONE-tan. Being an avatar for her reclusive creator and interested in his mysterious reclusiveness, she once offered to make some "art" with Todd as the subject. Unfazed by the offer, he respectfully declines as [[Main/RuleThirtyFourCreatorReactions he's already gotten a lot of those from his fans]]. She also reminds him that his acronym spells out "TITS", wordplay Todd didn't intend to make when he made his reviewer name and is stills feels embarrassed about it in hindsight.
* Back they used to work [[Website/ChannelAwesome on the same site]], Todd would help Linkara out if the comic reviewer needs music related exposition. Linkara once requested to review ''Music/{{Kiss}}'' comics with Todd, only for the music reviewer to laugh at him for such a ridiculous offer [[spoiler:before accepting the request anyway when the review is done]]. Linkara has also seen what Todd looks like (and Todd has threated the former if he shared that information to others). Overall, besides butting-heads from time to time, they are in good terms with each other.

The more of his reviews get posted online and gets recommended in Pantheonic social media, the more his Pantheonic audience grows. Todd noticed one day that he had a sudden spike in viewership and and subs. As it turns out music lovers Jack Malik (the [[spoiler:former]] Beatles "cover" artist), Kayla Day (the [[spoiler:former]] motivational vlogger), and Neku Sakuraba (the [[spoiler:formerly]] loner teen), who have been watching and sharing his videos to their friends and followers. In turn, his videos have been grown over various deified music and non-music fans/lovers alike. Todd is grateful for the free exposure; he's even met each of them in different occasions.

In addition to the two talking about their various music tastes and another non-music related media, Jack told Todd about how tiring it was to be the music industry and gives some advise if Todd decides to be a recording artist. Speaking of which, as a former content creator, Kayla sometimes admires Todd's success but wonders if things would have been different had she continued making videos and become successful one day. He briefly talked about how this was one of the first songs written for the show. He then talks about what happened in the band's own universe, how its founders, [[Pantheon/TechnologicalExperts Phineas and Ferb]], had a simple goal of creating a song, going big, and never making another hit ever again. But like his retrospective video with Hanson, he understands why the non-sense lyrics make it so relatable to many listeners, the song is about being speechless and babbling like an idiot around your crush. Plus, the production, the vocals and the instruments sound really nice too, despite his complains on the lyrics.

* Depending on who you asked, the presence of an actual music critic has either rocked the House of Pantheon/{{Musicality}} or barely affected it. After all, a music critic can affect the public perception of your music, help gauze general reception of your music and point out its flaws and strengths. But most musicians, especially the more famous ones in the Pantheon, tend to not acknowledge Todd. Perhaps, it's because they see him as another random person online among so many or they would rather just focus on improving their music in general than acknowledge their "haters". Todd doesn't seem surprised or undeterred by the indifference as he does view himself as some guy on the internet who talks about music a lot. Their respective fans in the Pantheon, who tend to be protective of their favorite artist, sometimes tend to react negatively when Todd gives out one of his unusual unpopular opinions, which is not really different from what Todd experiences back in his world. It's not all bad though; sometimes when Todd does a positive review or a whole OHW retrospective, most musicians react positively to it. John "Scatman" Larkin, who passed away before seeing his retrospective on him, has thanked Todd for covering his career on Pantheonic social media. He was contemplating that he was gonna skip reviewing their music, but then said screw it and just give his honest opinion because people would judge him for his opinions anyway. For example, while Todd is horrified upon learning the backstory of Ernesto's famous hit song "Remember Me", [[https://twitter.com/ShadowTodd/status/1502766870541180930 he admits the song kinda rules]]. He still acknowledges the original writer of the song Héctor and admits his version being the better one of the two writers/version, a compliment very much appreciated by the Riveras. Still, Todd trends careful on evil musicians that would kick his ass if he ever gives them a bad review (he cites the pop divas Courtney Gears & Kimmy Love and the punk rock witch I-No as examples). The only reason why they don't seem to attack him at the moment is because they see Todd as beneath them to reward him with an acknowledgment.
* [[Pantheon/{{Reclusiveness}} Hitori Gotoh]], guitarist and lyricist of Kessoku Band who also has immense social anxiety and low self-esteem issues, has recently discovered Todd's videos and wishes that their music would be reviewed by him for the mass exposure. However, she grew to be more nervous of that prospect, fearing that if Todd criticizes their music, it would cause the band to be shunned and disliked. Upon hearing their music online, Todd (on social media) personally thinks that her band's music is "okay" and thinks it's not really that different from other J-Pop bands he's heard before. Hitori should have felt fine, but now she was just nervous that their music wasn't good enough for the music critic. Her heralds tried to help calm her nerves by helping her take the criticism and feedback with stride.
* Some malicious deities have tried to unmask Todd out of their own sick curiosity, only for them to run for the hills upon seeing his face. [[AllThereInTheManual According to a trusted source]], it's because when one looks at Todd's actual face, they are actually looking into their own souls. [[Main/KarmaMeter The uglier your soul is, the more horrified you would be]] when looking at his face; [[BeautyEqualsGoodness the kinder souls just get to be fascinated with his face with no problems]]. Todd's face is also capable of breaking someone of their mind control if an unkind soul saw his horrifying face. He's also not interested in taking up being walking Karma Meter as a profession, despite some deities seeing a potential in his odd powers. For these reasons, he doesn't like yanderes (as it would remind him of his and [=NChick=]'s previous actions). He has sought the temple of Yuno Gasai, who represents Yanderes (and [[spoiler:holds the memories of]] a former Yandere herself), to prevent any fangirls and creeps from stalking online an IRL. They later became good acquaintances as Yuno approves of Todd getting over his former stalker-y tendencies.

The two villainous musicians saw Todd as a threat for their careers (as they fear their music would be given a bad review by him) and their powers (due to his mind-control breaking face). The best that they can do is to ignore Todd as attacking him directly might cause him to team up with their respective enemies for protection.
** Other people in Todd's shit list include Eric Raymond, for being a shitty music executive and a shadier human being for his effort to sabotage another band to make the band he manages look good. Another is Terence Fletcher, while being a talented teacher, his teaching methods (which are clearly emotional abusive) make Todd really uncomfortable. On a side note, Todd also gets a lot of questions about his opinions of influential glee cover group, [[Pantheon/MusicalCompositions The New Directions Glee Club]]. He doesn't really like that their music tends to greatly influence the charts despite their mediocrity and he doesn't care about their personal drama either.
* One of Linkara's allies, the nasally pop-culture loving Nerd, was visiting the comic reviewer's temple one when he happened to meet Todd, who was also waiting for Linkara to ask him some crossover-related favors from him. The two awkwardly just wait around in one the rooms until Todd casually asks if The Nerd listens to any music. The Nerd admits he doesn't listen to music much except for he's listening to soundtracks of his favorite movies or TV Shows. They ended up discussing about good and bad movie soundtracks to later just discussing about various movies and TV Shows. Todd reminds The Nerd of his reviewing peers, who they themselves are just as nerdy and knowledgeable (if not more so) as The Nerd. The nasally teen maybe a bit annoying with his fanboying but he seems like a good kid once you get to know him better.
* Despite being known as a music-related content creator, Todd is always surprised that his videos are taken too seriously (in spite of his videos being informative on various music and real-world topics). He views himself as an online entertainer rather than a "real" critic. In his view, he's just commentating on the absurdities and wonders of modern pop music in a comedic fashion. After all, he was influenced by video reviewers like the Nostalgia Critic and Angry Video Game Nerd, who commentate on absurd and bad movies and old games respectively. He also cites Jon Stewart and the crew of The Satellite of Love as a comedic influence. The former for the way the jokes and quips were put together; the latter for being the forebears of commentating over filmed media. That said, he also respects serious critics such as Siskel and Ebert for their influence in film criticism and analysis for both himself and his content reviewing peeps. The only reason why Todd hasn't visited the Hall of Pantheon/CritiqueAndParody to meet them is because he doesn't personally think he's that important or influential of a critic to join/enter the Big Boys Club.
* Someone had informed Todd that he wasn't the first deity to be sitting around analyzing music; there are three deities people point to. The first one was Beavis and Butt-Head, who preceded him as the dit-witted duo would often watch and [[Main/{{MST}} giving their opinions]] on random music videos (but they don't get payed for it). The duo and Todd don't have a lot of common ground with each other. Todd thinks they are both idiots while the heavy-metal loving duo (mostly Beavis) thinks he's a nerd and hasn't forgiven Todd for (what they perceive to be) insulting Metallica and Mötley Crüe. Bateman's tried in inviting Todd to his temple for a bit of a "chitchat" but Todd knows better than to accept an invitation from a possible serial killer. However, Todd likely wouldn't mind talk to him about music though if Patrick was less murder-y.

Being an avatar for her reclusive creator and interested in his mysterious reclusiveness, she once offered to make some "art" with Todd as the subject. Unfazed by the offer, he respectfully declines as [[Main/RuleThirtyFourCreatorReactions he's already gotten a lot of those from his fans]]. She also reminds him that his acronym spells out "TITS", wordplay Todd didn't intend to make when he made his reviewer name and is stills feels embarrassed about it in hindsight.

** Todd was already aware about Jack's pop star past and was glad he stopped copying the Beatles. In addition to the two talking about their various music tastes and another non-music related media, Jack told Todd about how tiring it was to be the music industry and gives some advise if Todd decides to be a recording artist. Todd doesn't intended to anyway, being an online personality is quite stressful enough. Speaking of which, as a former content creator, Kayla sometimes admires Todd's success but wonders if things would have been different had she continued making videos and become successful one day. But then she figures it would be better for her not to seek success online anyway and would be working on her self-confidence in the real world first.
* To appeal and acknowledge his new deified audience, he decided to do a special ''One Hit Wonderland'' episode, especially after finding that the pop music scene in the Pantheon is more weird and interesting that the ones currently on the charts back in his mortal world. He considered doing a OneHitWonder episode on ''Lonely Nights'' by [[Pantheon/{{Continuities}} Space☆Dandy]] and his band Dropkix (whose one song they played on a loop for two hours before breaking up). He briefly talked about how this was one of the first songs written for the show. But like his retrospective video with Hanson, he understand why the non-sense lyrics make it so relatable to many listeners, the song is about being speechless and babbling like an idiot around your crush. Plus, the production, the vocals and the instruments sounds really nice too, despite his complains on the lyrics.

** {People in the Pantheon Todd would despise}

* Todd Nathanson (also known as his online persona, Todd In The Shadows) is an online music reviewer who specialized in the pop music of the past and present, often giving snarking observations and sincere retrospectives on why a song or album is good, bad and/or popular in the first place. Starting as a fan of other online reviewers in the late 00's, he became a music reviewer since he didn't see anyone doing music reviews in a video format at the time. His main [[TheGimmick gimmick]] is that he is always backlit, so he projects a dark silhouette of himself and his face is never publicly revealed to his audience[[note]]except in a few vlogs from other people[[/note]]. It was done mostly for privacy reasons, but he later kept the look to stand out against his other reviewer peers (and 'cause he liked that look in general). When he's "out of the shadows", he covers the upper half of his face with a black cloth.

* His temple looks like a normal apartment and has a video set set-up where he does his reviews. By design (and by his request) it is very difficult to locate, even within his own hall. Although he no longer has roommates in his new place, he still gets noise complains from neighboring temples. He rarely goes out of his temple and little is known about what he does when not doing his reviews and side-projects (besides maybe watching movies and TV shows). He does going out to the Houses of Pantheon/{{Knowledge}} or Pantheon/MediaAndConnectivity for research purposes or when he's looking for rare concert or music clips for his videos.

* Todd's channel has three main series: ''Todd's Pop Song Reviews'', which reviews/commentates the current hit songs on the Billboard Hot 100; ''One Hit Wonderland'', which gives a retrospective on One-Hit Wonders before and after their famous hit and if they deserve a more promising career, and ''Trainwreckords'', which analyses [[CreatorKiller not-so well received album]] that ended their artist's mainstream relevancy. As [=YouTube=] is accessible in the Pantheon, deities can watch his videos as long as copyright doesn't take them down. As Todd put out more of his reviews online and gets recommended in Pantheonic social media, his Pantheonic audience grows. It has grown over some music and non-music fans/lovers alike. Being an avatar for her reclusive creator and interested in his mysterious reclusiveness, she once offered to make some "art" with Todd as the subject. Patrick, on the other hand, having seen Todd's reviews, thinks of the music critic as a fellow music connoisseur and is oddly interested in him. Bateman's tried in inviting Todd to his temple for a bit of a "chitchat" but Todd knows better than to accept an invitation from a possible serial killer. However, Todd likely wouldn't mind talk to him about music thought if Patrick was less murder-y.

* Todd has a [[RunningGag reoccurring thing]] of being confident and later being wrong about [[HilariousInHindsight/ToddInTheShadows predicting future trends in pop music in hilarious fashion]]. Still, Todd remains hopeful that his "faux pas" won't devalue his music reviews and opinions to his new audience, being confident at the ''only'' active music critic in the whole Pantheon (at least ascended before until [[WebVideo/TheNeedleDrop a certain bald-headed music critic]] shows up). As Todd thought to himself: Surely, he's not going to ascended in the future, right? [[TemptingFate Right?]]

** Another child he met was a Japanese boy named Nobita and his robotic cat buddy Doraemon; the latter gave his futuristic remote to the former to help him out in his homework, but the kid ended up using the remote to play pranks to his bullies and [[PowerPerversionPotential taking a peak of his crush]]. Doraemon's remote works similarily to Michael's, except that it can only target a few people (rather than everyone) and its beams can be reflected by Doraemon's mirror. Given that Nobita used the remote irresponsibly like he used to do, Michael told Nobita about his story as cautionary tale about abusing the remote's power. Nobita, after imagining using Michael's remote in the future and how it would affect his childhood crush (and future wife) Shizuka, starts to worry about ever using any reality-warping remotes and takes Michael's advice.

For example, while Todd is horrified upon learning the backstory of Ernesto's famous hit song "Remember Me", [[https://twitter.com/ShadowTodd/status/1502766870541180930 he admits the song kinda rules]]. He still acknowledges the original writer of the song Héctor and admits his version being the better one of the two writers/version, a complicated very much appreciated by the Riveras.

* In the past, there was the [[RunningGag re-occurring love triangle]] between himself, and fellow reviewers WebVideo/ObscurusLupa, and WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick. Todd had a massive crush on Lupa and tried to flirt/ask her out with little success, which [[Main/{{Flanderization}} later turned into]] full-blown [[StalkerWithACrush stalking behavior (like getting lock of her hair)]]. Meanwhile, Todd himself get his own stalker-y admirer with [=NChick=], who had one point kidnapped him to get his attention. This all came ahead when Todd was assimilate into a cyborg during a space mission ([[WebVideo/ToBoldlyFlee long story]]), and Lupa tried to snap Todd out of his programming by offering that she goes on a date with him. It works, and they eventually went on a date after everything blows over. Although their relationship didn't go any further as the two found out they have nothing in common (and Todd never bring up his [[Main/RunningGagged former crush since then]]). For these reasons, he doesn't like yanderes (as it would remind him of his and [=NChick=]'s previous actions) as well as people who turn people into cyborgs. He has seek the temple of Yuno Gasai, who represents Yanderes (and [[spoiler:holds the memories of]] a former Yandere herself), to prevent any fangirls and creeps from stalking online an IRL. They later became good acquaintances as Yuno approves of Todd getting over his former stalker-y tendencies.

* To elaborate on the cyborg incident, he was assimilate into a "mindless automaton" and brainwashed into helping the villains [[Main/ExactEavesdropping after he happened walked into their room and hearing their evil plans]]. He has since been turned back into normal after Lupa snapped him out and is currently no longer as cyborg (as far as we know). Still, due to a Pantheon quirk where some deities randomly shift into their various form, he is been in his [=RoboTodd=] form quite frequently and recently much to the music critic's annoyance. [=RoboTodd=] at least retains his free will but Linkara still has put some tech measures in place so that noone can hijack Todd for their schemes. Plus, Linkara was able to convince Todd that his cyborg form could be useful for self-defense. Todd's also currently training with [=RoboCop=] (whom his cyborg form bears resemblance to) in order work with his aim, as [[Main/ImperialStormtrooperMarksmanshipAcademy he still unable to shoot (besides a single spot)]] without moving around.

* Todd first learn of the Trope Pantheon from fellow reviewer Linkara, who already has a position as a deity of hat-related stuff. After Todd got kicked out of his apartment yet again due to noise complaints (and having trouble finding a new place to stay), the comic reviewer suggested to apply for a position as a god to get a new temple. After taking his advise (but still unsure), he decided to get himself acquainted in this new realm, while staying in Linkara's temple for a while. During his stay (and as he tried to figure out which trope to apply for), he realized that there are a ton of musicians and a few reviewers of different fields but no music reviewers have ascended yet. He decided fully apply for godhood to fill that empty niche and hope to gain an additional audience in the Pantheon (since [=YouTube=] is still accessible in this strange realm). Luckily, he got an offer to represent '''Unseen Faces''' after its former holder vacated the temple for bigger prospects.
