** TheLeader: Mikey Simon, the in-universe hero of the ShowWithinAShow as well as the main protagonist of the real show; excitable but egotistical.
** TheLancer: Lily, temperamental diva who used to be the star until Mikey showed up, culminating in her distaste for Mikey.
** TheSmartGuy: Guano, the paranoid ButtMonkey who nonetheless acts an actor, writer, producer ''and'' director for the in-universe show
** TheBigGuy: Gonrad, who plays the towering villain in-universe and is a friendly and dimwitted, if still gigantic and powerful, guy in "real life".
** TheChick: Mitsuki, who is shy, modest, sweet and has a crush on Mikey.

** TheBigGuy: Launchpad McQuack, the tallest and strongest member of the team who is nonetheless a NiceGuy.

** TheLeader: Nigel Uno / Numbuh One, who is not only the literal leader of Sector V but also tactically gifted and dedicated to his job.

* ''WesternAnimation/PhineasAndFerb'':
** TheLeader: Phineas, who acts as the creative force behind most of the group's daily plans and typically acts as the front-man, host, and general, unofficial leader during said plans.
** TheLancer: Ferb, Phineas' brother and closest companion who contrasts his energy with a quiet work-ethic.
** TheSmartGuy: Baljeet, whose obsession with good grades and schooling makes him consistently shown as the smartest and nerdiest of the group; during the TimeSkip episode "Act Your Age", he'd become a professor while his friends were all still high-schoolers. He is also consistently paired with Buford, below.
** TheBigGuy: Buford, the BookDumb bully who relies on muscle and brute strength over intellect, despite having some HiddenDepths. Forms a BigGuyLittleGuy pair with Baljeet.
** TheChick: Isabella, the only female member of the group and the leader of the Fireside Girls scout troupe; she's girly and compassionate, and has a crush on Phineas.

** The Chick: Black Widow. The only BadassNormal, already a part of SHIELD. She's levelheaded, encourages thee others to work together, and typically plays backup to Cap or Iron Man. She can even manage The Hulk's emotions.

* Franchise/StarWars: [[Characters/StarWarsRebelHeroes The Rebel Heroes of the Original Trilogy.]] Aside from R2 and 3PO being The Dividual, they are one of the most recognizable Five Man Bands, and the Trope Image for most of them. Lando also becomes this team's SixthRanger, after [[HeelFaceTurn breaking ties with the Empire]] at the end of the second movie.

** TheLeader: Luke, a [[HeroesPreferSwords sword wielding]] idealistic farmboy. '''TheHero.'''
** TheLancer: Han, a cynical, pragmatic, gun toting AcePilot.

** TheSmartGuy: C-3PO, a [[GeekPhsyiques tall and skinny]] walking encyclopedia, and his counterpart R2-D2, a [[ShorterMeansSmarter stubby]] GadgeteerGenius. When separated, they also play the {{sidekick}} to other heroes, 3PO to Leia and R2 to Luke.

** The Leader: Captain American. Commands the team out in the field, formulating plans and strategies, as a veteran in the military and HopeBringer he's the one they rally around.
** The Lancer: Iron Man. Serves as a direct foil to IdealHero Captain America, and an obnoxious [[TheAce Ace]] that always has a plan different to Steve's. He's also listed as the official NumberTwo (to Cap) of the team. In Civil War he becomes at odds with Cap and leads his own rival faction.
** The Big Guy: Thor. A PhysicalGod and a BoisterousBruiser who is a contender for the strongest Avenger and tends to use his brawn over his brains.
** The Smart Guy: Bruce Banner. His scientific expertise is the main reason why he was recruited onto the team. The Hulk for the most part serves as his combat SuperMode and isn't treated as a separate character until well into Phase 3.
** The Chick: Black Widow. The only BadassNormal, already a part of SHIELD. She's generally she's the most levelheaded and put together of the team and is constantly trying to encourage them to work together. She becomes this further in Age of Ultron, using empathy and love to manage The Hulk.

** Luke is the archetypal Hero, who later becomes The Leader after learning the ways of the Force. A Sword weilding idealistic farmboy.
** Han is The Lancer as his foil and the cynical, pragmatic, gun toting ace pilot.
** Leia is The Chick as the balance between her LoveInterest Han where she's very tough and twin brother Luke where she's also very mindful and caring towards others.
** Chewy is The Big Guy, a GeniusBruiser mechanic, and towering furry beast. His bowcaster is also shown to be much stronger than a typically blaster.
** C-3PO is a tall and skinny walking encyclopedia, and his counterpart R2-D2 is a short and stubby Gadgeteer Genius, making for a pair of RobotBuddy Smart Guys. When separated from each other, they also play the sidekick role to other heroes, 3PO to Leia and R2 to Luke.

* Film/TheBraveLittleToaster

** The Chick: Blankie, the innocent {{heart}}.

** TheBig Guy: Andy, good looking "athlete" of the group.

* Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse: [[MCUAvengersAndAllies The original members of the Avengers Initiative]]. At the end of the first film they are officially joined by SixthRanger Hawkeye [[HeelFaceTurn after getting over being mind-controlled.]] While there are many other SimilarSquads, they're one of the few in the franchise where roles and ranks match up properly.

** The Leader: Dunk, a tough guy who did the most talking, led the adventures, and set up the first half of the catch-phrase "If you know what's good for you."
** The Lancer: Brian, a simple PluckyComicRelief breakout character that finishes the catchphrase with "OK."
** The Big Guy: Crunch, the largest member, sometimes DumbMuscle, often carrying smaller members like Brains and Bixie.
** The Smart Guy: Brains, wore NerdGlasses, and analyzed the titchy cereals.
** The Chick: Bixie, the only girl, often cheering on the other guys.
