# WMG.DragonBallSuperUniverseSurvivalArc: Universe 11's team so far are superhero themed. This could be somewhat ironic given Vermoud, though that could also be intentional; if the clown's evil like we suspect he may want to come off as less likely to cheat or otherwise be evil with them. Alternatively half the team will be super-villains. The Pride Force isn't going to like this, but upon hearing what happens if they lose even the evil half will Enemy Mine with them. Would serve as major tension in the team.Confirmed, but jossed on the Enemy Mine thing. All the fighters of Universe 11 are Pride Troopers.

Including attacking the heroes for trying to stop Shirah from perfroming an ApocalypseHow on earth.
# Fanfic.TheWorldIsFilledWithMonsters: The threat of a Class 2 — the eventual destruction of all civilization and its loss to chaos and the wilderness — if nothing is done to stop the monsters is what spurs Vermillion to set out on his own despite orders to the contrary.
# Recap.StarTrekDiscoveryS1E15WillYouTakeMyHand: Mirror Georgiou places a hydro-bomb in the volcanic vents covering Qo'noS. If detonated, it would create a chain reaction that would destroy whatever continent it was detonated on and render the planet uninhabitable within a few weeks.
# TearJerker.TheyMightBeGiants: The music video for "By the Time You Get This." While the hammy performance of the actors might be funny, the story behind it is that of a husband trying to comfort his wife by covering up the windows so she doesn't have to watch the earth's imminent destruction via a fiery asteroid collision.

# Characters.FridayNightFunkinLogic: In her own "The Life of" song, Taki was sent out of her home planet via a small spaceship by her parents so she could escape a Class X apocalypse (a la Superman). # YMMV.SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration: SequelEscalation: The first game deals with Civil War and an extraterrestrial invasion; Original Generation 2 throws in what the first had, but adds in an Alternate Universe faction who engages in War for Fun and Profit and an Eldritch Abomination bent on committing a "Class-X" ApocalypseHow. The Second Original Generation takes the notch even further.
# Film.Sharknado5GlobalSwarming: Pretty much the messing with the artifact and going to Egypt lead to the entire world being wiped out.

# Characters.TheBridgeEnemyKaiju: They caused a Class 2, almost Class 3 event called the Toba Catastrophe over 77,000 years ago on Earth. The effects were so devastating that they wiped out all of Earth's ancient civilizations and brought humans to the brink of extinction.
# Fanfic.TheKingNobodyWanted: The Dothraki are undergoing a Class 0 as a result of whatever happened at Vaes Dothrak, as the loss of the one bit of neutral ground the Dothraki had is (alongside other mysterious happenings) destroying many of the things that underpin Dothraki society.
# VideoGame.EarthDefenseForce: Class 3a to Class X should be expected if EDF were to fail, depending on what exactly the Ravagers intend to do with Earth.
# VisualNovel.LuckyDog1: The CR-5 capos make it very clear they will literally destroy the earth itself to save Gian in the spin-off, If It's for Gian, We Would Destroy the World.

And it's implied that the cause of this was the Pandora Box opening fully. At full power, Evolt has the ability to pull off Class X apocalypses at will by creating black holes that he uses to suck up planets; in one episode he forces Sento to watch while he wipes out an alien planet in an attempt to demoralize the hero. He almost pulls a Class X on Earth in the final arc, but the heroes find a way to turn it around on him.
# VideoGame.DarkestDungeon: The opening of the portal seems to be a Regional Disruption. # Characters.FridayNightFunkinLogic: In CodexEquusSecondAgeHeroes: Her very first Drabble depicts her own "The Life of" song, Taki annihilating an entire interstellar empire which had repeatedly attacked the sector of space she was sent out supervising, levelling civilization, devastating planetary surfaces, shattering celestial bodies and killing trillions of her home planet via sapient beings (who admittedly had it coming) in a small spaceship by her parents so she could escape a Class X apocalypse (a la Superman). # YMMV.SuperRobotWarsOriginalGeneration: SequelEscalation: The first game deals with Civil War TheBlueballsIncident: NarmCharm: Even despite its silly origin, the mod is still unsettling at its best and an extraterrestrial invasion; Original Generation 2 throws in what downright horrifying at its worst, especially once you read the first had, logs after the credits and watch [=MaliciousBunny's=] connected videos. The Second Original Generation takes the notch even further.

largely self-sufficient, retains anything close to modernity.
# VideoGame.StarCraftIILegacyOfTheVoid: Planetary-scale Physical Annihilation: Done KingdomHeartsBirthBySleep: DisappointedByTheMotive: Master Eraqus is upset that Master Xehanort is trying to Shakuras, with cause a massive imbalance in light and darkness, obtain the energies χ-Blade, and throw Kingdom Hearts itself into complete chaos. Any one of those goals coming to fruition would be catastrophic, but all of them at once would potentially [[ApocalypseHow jeopardize the existence of every world]]. However, Eraqus is even more upset when he finds out that Xehanort is planning to do all of this because he just wants to know what would happen. Eraqus sums up his disappointment by saying "You would risk an apocalypse out of sheer curiosity?!"
# Fanfic.AJumpToTheLeft: The Mad Max world results from a Societal Collapse that was so devasting that industrial civilization was destroyed, and knowledge
of the Xel'Naga Temple. Your mission 21st century is only remembered as a myth. Though unlike Fury Road, there's no mention of the Water Wars just prior to hold until enough Zerg the Great War, just the Oil Wars.

Keep in mind, these aren't some mindless beasts who simply feed off of death and destruction, they're purely evil beings who relish in the deaths of innocents for their deaths own entertainment. When Dana and Marty finally put an end to be worth it. Planetary-scale Total Extinction: Done by the Purifiers. Seems like even bloody ritual, they end up [[ApocalypseHow sacrificing all of Earth]], and the angry gods finally emerge from the ground to obliterate the world. In the final shot of the film, we see an Ancient One's colossal arm reach out from the surface, destroying the titular cabin and killing our remaining heroes. Whatever happens after millennia of stasis, the screen cuts to black is up to your imagination.
# Roleplay.FifteenStrangers: Class Z. The Thalmor's entire reason for existing is to initiate this on a borderline Original Negation scale, bar none. And
they realize quickly that Zerg are bad news. If Amon gets his way, a Universal-scale bordering on Multiversal-scale Physical Annihilation would take place have succeeded if it weren't for those pesky Strangers! Thankfully it ends up just as an Omniversal 404.

# Characters.TheBridgeEnemyKaiju: They SongOfMemories: Class 0 if the Pandemic breaks out. Confirmed to escalate to at least a Class 3 in the Bad endings.
# Characters.JurassicParkNonDinosaurs: Caused a destructive plague on a regional scale, since they were only able to affect a few regions before they were ultimately stopped, but it's made very clear that if they weren't they could have very easily

# MeaningfulName.{{Literature}}: In The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny one of princes is
called Brand - which in German means "fire" or "flames". He is a highly dangerous (and more than a bit crazy) Evil Redhead. What is more, he likes literally playing with fire (has this cigarette-lighting trick) and would love to [[ApocalypseHow see the Toba Catastrophe over 77,000 years ago world burn]].
# Literature.InterstellarGunRunner: Kruthara is spreading across the galaxy, consuming everything with the even slightest bit of human DNA.
# NightmareFuel.{{Megamind}}: A quick one that's often glossed over, but at the beginning of the movie, we get the wonderful sight of not one, but [[ApocalypseHow TWO ENTIRE INHABITED PLANETS BEING DESTROYED BY A BLACK HOLE]]. The inhabitants don't even have a chance to escape. Only one infant from each planet is able to make it off.
# Characters.ASongOfIceAndFireValyrians: Class 0—Regional, Societal Collapse. The Doom, a cataclysm of an unspecified nature, which destroyed Valyria and formed the Smoking Sea. Valyrian magic, knowledge and recorded history was lost. Now the area is said to be haunted by demons. The few brave enough to venture to Valyria's ruins don't come home.
# Film.{{Reminiscence}}: Class 1, Most of the earth is massively flooded due to a global disaster, society is still intact but is forced to live by night due to the extreme temperatures in the day, could slide into Class 2 or 3b.
# Manga.{{Remina}}: Physical Annihilation of the Solar System by Planet Eater, to be exact. Given that stars go out in Planet Remina's wake, it presumably dishes out Stellar-class apocalypses casually. Remina seems to play with its food in the case of the Earth, leading to devastation from deflected missiles and then extremely-accelerated rotation.
# Characters.WarriorsOrochi: SoleSurvivor: He is said to be the only Norse god to survive [[ApocalypseHow Ragnarok]]. It turns out that he's not alone.
# WesternAnimation.CaptainPlanetAndThePlaneteers: MixAndMatchCritters: The animals in "Planeteers Under Glass" were all hybrids. And did we mention that there is also a flying cyber-demon during the time that the Apocalypse Class is spiked up to [[ApocalypseHow Class 6]]?
# Film.TheLastManOnEarth: AfterTheEnd: As in the original story, the movie is set after [[ApocalypseHow a terrible plague]] has unleashed undead hordes
on the Earth. The effects were so devastating that they Vincent Price spends all his free time researching for a cure and killing the undead.
# Recap.BlackMirrorDemon79: On a planetary level. As the clock strikes midnight and Nida misses her task, life on Earth gets
wiped out all by nuclear hellfire.
# ComicBook.{{Echo}}: Class-X at a minimum. The full properties
of Earth's ancient civilizations the Phi-project are still being explored, but we know that if a single test-bomb is detonated, or the Arctic collider is activated, there goes the Earth. What we do not know is if the "there goes" part will stop with Earth.
# Anime.DigimonAdventure: X-5. Apocalymon attempted to destroy both the digital
and brought humans real worlds with an explosion which was contained by the Digivices.
# WorldOfWarcraft.TropesMToR: MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Earthbreaker Haromm, one of the Kor'kron Dark Shaman who force the elements to obey their command, says "The elements... What have we done..." as he dies. Algalon the Observer in Ulduar is a herald of the Titans, whose job is to determine if planets were developing according
to the brink of extinction.
# Fanfic.TheKingNobodyWanted: The Dothraki are undergoing a Class 0
Titans' plans, or if they were deviating too much, such as a result of whatever happened at Vaes Dothrak, as being corrupted by an Old God, in which case the loss of whole planet was to be "[[ApocalypseHow re-originated]]". When players fight and stop him, he comments on their resolve to save Azeroth, and regrets that in the eons he had been doing this, he never considered the countless lives he wiped out. Garrosh attempts to inflict one bit of neutral ground the Dothraki these unsuccesfully on Warlord Krom'gar. He quickly realizes that Krom'gar felt no guilt or remorse for what he had is (alongside other mysterious happenings) done and quickly gets rid of him. Garrosh: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE?
# Characters.StarOfProvidenceBosses: Its Monster Compendium entry indicates that a certain being, similarly to Null, obtained Power Eternal and spent their last moments
destroying many the facility and most living society around it (likely akin to the mirror practice boss portrait).
# Literature.StielaugeDerUrkrebs:
# Characters.TheOrderOfTheStickDivineBeings: Class "Universal/Physical Annihilation", it is capable of tearing the world apart in minutes once it is unleashed.
# YMMV.TheInvitation2015: NightmareFuel: The ending. Will, Kira, and Tommy survive the party's devolution into an outright massacre, which is definitely awesome. But then they stop outside and find the red lantern David lit earlier. Looking out in the distance, they see other red lanterns lighting up and start hearing dogs barking, people screaming, and police sirens blaring. Which means only one thing: they weren't the only ones put through the horrors
of the things Invitation that underpin Dothraki society.

# Awesome.QuantumBreak: The fact that Monarch has prepared for the [[ApocalypseHow End of Time]] for 22 years is a CMOA in its entirety, developing Chronon Harnesses that allows Monarch soldiers to move during stutters, cutting edge weaponry that is able to fire in a zero-state environment, Chronon Dampeners to nullify Shifters, whose powers allow them to plow through soldiers during a stutter with ease, and the Lifeboat Protocol that shelters Monarch from being destroyed during the [[ApocalypseHow End of Time]]. Hell, the Lifeboat Protocol could've worked if it weren't for Hatch's machinations and Jack's intervention as he found out that the centerpiece of the Lifeboat Protocol is the Countermeasure.
# VideoGame.EarthDefenseForce: Postal4NoRegerts: Of the Local Area variety. Halfway through Friday, due to a doomsday cult poisoning the water supply, the entire populus of Edensin has gone postal.
# Characters.InvaderZimMembraneFamily: BeingGoodSucks: Doesn't matter how many times he saves the day (or at least tries to), he'll almost never get credit for it and often will end up having something bad happen to him for his efforts. Though to be fair, bad things happen to him even when he's being selfish.Gets played to the extreme in the comics: Dib still is not able to garner respect even after successfully defeating and capturing Zim, leading to the creation of the Half-Human Hybrid, ApocalypseHow bringing abomination known as Zib.
# Recap.MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagicS5E26TheCutieRemarkPart2: Chrysalis, Discord, and Tirek's timelines seem to result in at least Regional/Societal Collapse, although Tirek's may end up as far as Regional/Species Extinction. The last timeline appears to be Regional/Total Extinction, provided it only affects Equestria.
# Music.{{Suffocation}}: Somewhere between
Class 3a to 2 and Class X should be expected if EDF were to fail, depending on what exactly in "Mass Obliteration".note the Ravagers intend lyrics at various points imply small pockets of humans left living on a wretched husk, or simply a "World Explosion" Predictably, it's all humanity's fault.Nuke 'em / World War III: How they got there. The lyrics of "Cataclysmic Purification" drop a reference to do the supposed Mayan Doomsday Calendar, and the music video depicts at least a Multi-cellular level extinction event, with Earth.
# VisualNovel.LuckyDog1: The CR-5 capos make it very clear they will literally destroy
the earth itself being wreathed in flames.
# ComicBook.DeathsHeadII: Catspur suffers planetary extinction due
to save Gian explosions ravaging the surface of the planet - there are only two known humanoid survivors, Noon and Heron, and both are killed shortly thereafter. # SoYouWantTo.WriteAScienceFictionStory: Apocalyptic and Post-Apocalyptic: fiction set After the End. The ApocalypseHow can vary — disease, war, ecological disaster, astronomic impact, zombie plague — transhumans run amok — but this brand of fiction typically involves itself with Action Survivors struggling to rebuild, or at least survive, as everything comes crashing down around their ears.
# Pantheon.LoveOther: Like his fellow half-bloods, Jason hates Kratos for killing both his father and his patron saint, along with [[ApocalypseHow subsequently destroying the world in the process]]. And like the other half-bloods, Kratos is unconcerned regarding Jason, simply stating that if Jason wishes to die just like his old man, Kratos will be more than happy to fulfill his request. Piper also hated Kratos for seemingly killing her mother... until Piper was informed as to what Kratos had actually done to her mother. Nowadays, the subject of Kratos is usually a sore spot for Piper, who usually retreats to her temple whilst muttering "nope" to herself whenever Kratos is brought up in a conversation.
# Characters.PokemonTheSeriesXYVillains: VileVillainSaccharineShow: He wants to outright [[ApocalypseHow destroy the world]], and tortures Ash and Greninja onscreen, so yeah, he qualifies.
# Webcomic.OldSchoolMelonpool: AbortedArc: More than once in the later stages

# Literature.SpiderManSinisterSixTrilogy: The Gentleman's plan turns out
to be a Regional Disruption. While Class 1. By detonating a memory-wiping EMP and an ink-destroying airborne Catalyst over New York, all paper and electronic records (including money marking) will be destroyed. Since New York is a world financial capital, this will have devastating effects on American currency and the spreading world economy, and definitively turn New York into hell on earth.
# Fridge.HeroicMyth: When first summoned, Caster remarks that if he were incarnated, he would do something about how the world works. Later, after Behemoth Alter is defeated, he tells the executives
of Loki Familia that if he were integrate himself with the world, he would destroy Babel so that [[ApocalypseHow monsters would roam the world once more]]. This is so that only the worthy, the real heroes, would survive.
# AlasPoorVillain.WesternAnimation: The death of Spider-Carnage in Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He was a demented, Ax-Crazy loon who was trying to set of an [[ApocalypseHow Omniversal Metaphysical Annihilationapocalypse]], but when he has a Heel Realisation and kills himself it's all but impossible not to feel bad. There's just something about seeing someone with the face of the show's hero brought so low that not only does suicide seem like a good idea, it's the best option that there is.
# StoryBreakerPower.AnimeAndManga: Alastor is the God of Atonement. Manifesting physically is his "I Win" card. In the novels (and movie), he plays this to incinerate the first villain. The anime saves this for the climax of the first season, in which he blows up everything, sends the Big Bads fleeing, and saves the city from an impending overload of energy all by just showing up. He doesn't even have to fight at all—he's just that powerful. However it's supposed to kill the Flame Haze that does it (Shana thankfully is capable of surviving it) and the manifestation requires a truly MASSIVE amount of Power of Existence. Unless there's an external source nearby, his mere presence in the human world would create a [[ApocalypseHow reality-killing distortion.]]
# Manga.AliceAndZoroku: ArtStyleDissonance: This manga is drawn in simplistic and plushy style but its theme is somewhat dark, dealing with reality-warping, child abuse and potential [[ApocalypseHow existential threat]].
# VideoGame.RemnantFromTheAshes: BotanicalAbomination: The Root itself, a demonic tree-like Alien Kudzu that caused a ApocalypseHow. Some beings, such as the Ent, are examples themselves, with the Ent in particular being a wooden Cthulhu. They're also an extradimensional Eldritch Abomination that has absorbed countless other worlds.
# AllForNothing.VideoGames: Darkest Dungeon, fitting its incredibly dark and hopeless tone, ends with one of these. The Heart, the source of the
corruption is wreaking havoc on the area surrounding the manor, there's no evidence to suggest a transcendent being that is truly immortal, "killing" it has spread out beyond that. However, only stalls its inevitable growth. One day when efforts fail and it grows fully, it will erupt from the planet's crust in what's likely to be a Class 6 or Class X ApocalypseHow. The player character is broken by this truth and seeks solace in the same way as the ancestor speaks about it, did, with a new descendant arriving to repeat the same cycle until the world inevitably ends with the alignment of the stars. Worse, the Thing From the Stars, assuming it's not the egg form of the Heart, means that even if humanity somehow manages to truly neutralize the Heart, there will always be another Eldritch Abomination out there ready to prey on humanity.
# RobotChicken.TropesSToZ: StoryboardingTheApocalypse: If you give a mouse a cookie, the world ends in nuclear holocaust. And that's why Mommy had to stab Daddy.
# WebVideo.DoorMonster: AccidentalPun: Future Kyle wears glasses because the future

# YMMV.BlackLightning2018S3E9EarthCrisis: LikeYouWouldReallyDoIt: Black Lightning's third season was scheduled to end in March, meaning the Class X-4 [[ApocalypseHow apocalypse]] that ends the episode would never have stuck no matter the long-term consequences for the status quo.

# Literature.{{Rollerskater}}: This happens multiple times.Arc I ends with
a peace conference Class X-4 event in which there was everything is destroyed and overwritten. Arc II undoes this, but not without consequences. Arc III describes this happening to be a truce with Geb's society in the Cylons, Baltar sold out the 12 Colonies, and distant past as a result of running out of penumbric, resulting in a Class 2, and the Colonies were mostly destroyed along all subsequent birth of modern civilisation. Arc IV ends with a Class 1, which could have gone further if the heroes hadn't stopped it. The lasting impact is felt throughout the world, and the old order collapses as a result, bringing it down to a Class 0. Nobody is that bothered by it.
# Literature.TheEnd2018: The comet impact is a world-ender, a.k.a Class 5.
# Literature.HomecomingSaga: {{Expy}}: For the Book of Mormon. In order to get around the serious problems stemming from Joseph Smith's stream of consciousness 19th century narration (stupid names, stupid plots, being really boring, being incredibly racist, wanting to get laid), Card changes most
of the other Battlestarsnote except characters names (and Nephi [knee-fi] is now Nafai [nyeh-fi]) and definitely changes their culture. Instead of being a random colony of Jews that traveled to the Western Hemisphere in wooden submarines and dealt with the evil brown people living there (turning some white, genociding others), they're space Russians whose ancestors fled Earth after a [[ApocalypseHow nuclear war rendered it largely uninhabitable]], and are now returning to The Promised Land and dealing with the Angels (giant singing bats) and Diggers (giant rats that smear themselves with mud).

# Film.TheseFinalHours: Class 6 — the asteroid impact is implied to destroy all life on Earth (Rose mentions her dad describing the Earth being "peeled like an orange" and later on in Freddy's panic room James tells Vicky
that the Pegasus had also survived..room is pointless since it's not buried deep enough for anyone to survive).
# ComicBook.Gambit1999: It's revealed that New Sun's initial power overload, when channeling the energies of the Old Kingdom's long-dead king, killed everyone on his Alternate Universe's Earth and caused massive worldwide destruction. At the end of Gambit and New Sun's final duel, which takes place on a dead Earth in an Alternate Universe, Gambit overloads New Sun by feeding him all of his own power as well. When New Sun's Impaled with Extreme Prejudice shortly afterwards, the energy released is enough to "evaporate" the planet.

# Literature.TheGenocides: Class 6. Though, in the end the aliens start growing new plant life that humans can't eat or harvest, indicating a possible takeover of the planet once we go extinct.
# Literature.{{Vampirates}}: The setting for the story is that global warming and melting ice caps have caused much of the world to be covered with water, hence the age of anachronistic piracy.

A hypothetical near-future extinction event with a chicxulub-sized asteroid hitting New York City is also presented, and humanity faces major societal disruption or even societal collapse in this scenario.Apocalypse Wow

# HalfTheManHeUsedToBe.VideoGames: Played with in Xenoblade Chronicles 1, during the fight with Egil, piloting Yaldabaoth. Halfway through the fight, you receive a vision; Egil is planning to use a technique called 'Bionis Slash X', which, if it succeeds, will cut the Bionis in two, dealing infinite damage. The player then receives a quest mid-battle to destroy the three devices around Egil to prevent this from happening.
# SevenDeadlySins.VideoGames: Luxu is named for luxuria (lust). In this case, the name is likely not meant to be seen in the sexual sense, as it usually is, but rather a "lust for life", fitting his role of being tasked with surviving the Keyblade War.
# NightmareFuel.TalesFromTheDarkside: "Hush". A child creates an odd-looking mechanism that was programmed to stop all the noise annoying those he loves. It works too well; namely, it takes the life out of the thing that's making the noise. Seeing the machines being robbed of their noise is okay, but what's not okay is that horrible nozzle and noise of the machine itself. Also, a parrot and the boy's mother fall before it! Painfully. The world is certainly a better place when the babysitter makes the machine suck out its own life. And that's how the TV version ended. In the original short story by Zenna Henderson, everyone dies, and the story ends with the implication that the machine is going to make everything quiet.
# NightmareFuel.{{Megamind}}: A quick one that's often glossed over, but at the beginning of the movie, we get the wonderful sight of not one, but TWO ENTIRE INHABITED PLANETS BEING DESTROYED BY A BLACK HOLE. The inhabitants don't even have a chance to escape. Only one infant from each planet is able to make it off.
# Literature.{{Kronk}}: Headed toward a Class 2. P939 removes aggression, but also removes much of human drive and recipients often commit suicide after contemplating just how much pain they've caused in their life. And, in a few generations, the remaining bits of humanity are likely to tear each other apart.
# Film.TheLastManOnEarth: As in the original story, the movie is set after a terrible plague has unleashed undead hordes on the Earth. Vincent Price spends all his free time researching for a cure and killing the undead.
# Literature.NorbyFindsAVillain: Ing's Evil Plan this time is to go into hyperspace with a bomb so that he can blow up the entire universe at once. Fortunately, it doesn't work. Unfortunately, it does rip a hole and sends him into an Alternate Universe, causing a Bad Future where tree-like aliens conquer the galaxy.
# TearJerker.KamenRiderGaim: All of the Inves were people and animals at one point. All of them.
# VideoGame.DemonsSouls: Class 0. The last time the Old One was released, Boletaria went from a united utopia to a collection of small regions, each given an Archstone to be ready in case it ever woke up again. The rest of the kingdom was destroyed, though the separate regions still seemed to do well enough in rebuilding. The regions players travel to throughout the game are all that's left from the last time the Old One woke up, and even among the six Archstones, something happened to the northern giants that prevents their land from being visited, as their Archstone is destroyed in the Nexus. When King Allant awakens the Old One again, he hopes to achieve a Class 2 by having the deep fog spread across the whole world, and it’s the players goal to stop that from happening… or to simply take his place.
# WebVideo.TierZoo: Every time humans are mentioned, their nature as a invokedGame-Breaker is also brought up, but he doesn't talk about how humans need to be nerfed that much— whereas someone analyzing an actual game in this manner would be pestering the devs to no end to do such a thing— likely due to the real life implications such a thing would have.
# YMMV.KingpriestTrilogy: Beldinas, when he does realize, though too late, what he has done, and what his actions will lead to, when Paladine himself comes to punish him, and begs him for forgiveness, but is rejected.
# Literature.ChristCloneTrilogy: Beautifully done, particularly in the second book, where a series of asteroid strikes manage to provide an almost-to-the-letter-literal interpretation of various Biblical prophecies while still being one hundred per cent grounded in scientific fact.
# Characters.XMenRoguesGalleryJToR: Hellions implies that Orphan-Maker's mutant powers would turn him into a Walking Wasteland of apocalyptic proportions if allowed to fully manifest. In Sabretooth & the Exiles #2, Nanny explicitly says that if Orphan-maker ever lost control of his powers, it would be an Extinction Level Event.
# Funny.{{Brawlhalla}}: The simple fact that the evil MegaCorp that governed the Cyberpunk future of Ada and Val and caused the apocalypse that led to Barraza's Mad Max-esque world was a baby food company.
# Roleplay.SuperRobotWarsUnlimitedGenerationAlpha: Second Impact was a particularly harsh Class 1. ASCENT ended with the crew averting a Class 5.
# Pantheon.GUAEFallenStars: EXTREME. He can materialize anywhere as long as there is hatred. And he has the capability to cause the destruction of EVERYTHING in case he felt like a Sore Loser.
# Magazine.StirringScienceStories: Elton V. Andrews's "Worlds in Exile" is a sonnet about how entropy will lead to universal total extinction. [...]Other forms knew life than men On their broad bosoms; other forms that scorned Man's puny will . . . . And e'en their Titan spark Of years is through, nor may we comprehend The Cyclopean meaning of the end.
# Fanfic.StarTrekGenesis: Played with Class X Doppelganger was constructed from a pre-existing planet with its own civilization, which would effectively be the destruction of the previous planet.
# Recap.BigFinishDoctorWho044CreaturesOfBeauty: MikeNelsonDestroyerOfWorlds: Poor, poor Five inadvertently caused the ApocalypseHow that formed the setting of the story by flying through an anomaly with his TARDIS, lands on the planet, and never finds out that he himself caused all the suffering he encounters.
# Recap.DoctorWhoS31E12ThePandoricaOpens: If the Alliance's predictions are to be believed, the history-erasing cracks in time will cause not just a Class X-4 but a Class Z by deleting the main universe and every other universe. At the episode's very end, a severe Class X-3 destroys every last star in the universe at every moment in history (essentially, every one of those stars are not only gone but retroactively never shone), leaving Earth floating alone in the void.
# Characters.MegaManStarForcePegasusLeoAndDragon: Its job is to cause a Class X.
# YMMV.FinalFantasyVI: The entire existence of the World of Ruin was spoiled by the game packaging. The Floating Continent has all the hallmarks of a Disc-One Final Dungeon, so you know this can't be the final battle when you prepare to confront Gestahl, but you're probably not expecting Kefka to unleash an ApocalypseHow that reshapes the continents. But one of Kefka's major claims to fame is that he "won", at least for a little while, so his destruction of the World of Balance is fairly common knowledge. Even then, it's impossible to look at walkthroughs and game guides without accidentally catching a sight of the second world map and/or its title.
# Film.ReignOfFire: A Class 2 for humanity, with the possibility of it growing into a Class 3a if the dragons outlast the humans. For the biosphere it's a Class 4 due to the dragons scorching all the lands to ashes for them to consume, and humans' Nuke 'em actions before society collapsed likely helped.
# WebOriginal.TheArknverse: Universe A undergoes the Class X-4 variety, courtesy of the Arkn-Dekn War and Voidweb. (However, it takes a rather long time to reach anihilation stage.)
# Recap.StargateAtlantisS02E19Inferno: Class 5
# ComicBook.TheGreatPowerOfChninkel: Planetary. O'ne threatens a Class 5 or possibly a Class 6. A Class 4 happens, though a handful of tawals do survive... to become the ancestors of modern man.
# Characters.VampireCheerleaders: The climax of the fourth and final volume had the members of PMS (and Suki) battling the Reptilians, who were hellbent on wiping the Mothmen out of existence... and nearly succeeded, when they destroyed Mothworld.
# Toys.{{Slizer}}: A less severe case of Class X, in that half of the planet stays intact.
# BreakTheCutie.TheDCU: The Brave and the Bold there's the episode "Emperor Joker" where the Reality Warping Batmite tries to help Batman without breaking an earlier promise he made about not using his powers. He resolves to lend Batman his powers but misses, hitting Joker instead and giving the villain the power to bend reality to his will. As a result of this the Joker destroys the universe. Now powerless Batmite is tormented by an Imp version of the Joker, Jokermite; Forced to Watch his hero be killed mercilessly over and over again in different painful methods and be humiliated and demoted to Court Jester all the while plagued by the knowledge that this is all his fault.
# Webcomic.TheMurderOfMe: Class X-5. The dimension in which the story takes place is the only one left in existence, with the rest of the multiverse having been consumed by Zielo.
# VideoGame.PokemonMysteryDungeonRescueTeam: Near the end of the game, it is revealed that a falling star is hurtling towards the earth at an alarming speed. Something on the Planetary Scale (Class 4 - Class 6) is implied, with the shooting star threatening to wipe out all Pokémon.
# TheLastOfUs.TropesAToD: Type 2. Major cities were made into safe zones, and small holdouts and hamlets persist, while the rest of the world has been abandoned and reclaimed by wilderness.
# Fanfic.DavionAndDavionDeceased: Apocalypse How – The Amaris Empire was apparently so ruthless in 'defending' Lockdale that the planet can no longer support its population, adding a humanitarian crisis to the war.
# MoralEventHorizon.AnimeAndManga: The human race crosses this in The Animatrix film The Second Renaissance when they blotted out the sun and in doing so doomed all life on the planet to extinction just to try and deprieve the machines of their power source.
# Series.Preacher2016: Herr Starr wants to cause a Class 1, the Allfather wants to cause a Class 2, and God wants to cause a Class 3a.
# ComicBook.TalesFromTheDarkMultiverse: At the end of Dark Nights: Metal, Duke Thomas, now calling himself the Final Knight, calls out Tempus Fuginaut for standing by and allowing the worlds in the Dark Multiverse to rot away. Final Knight: I don't know who you are, but let's get something straight. Worlds lived. Worlds died. Everything ended. The multiverse is ash...and you watched?
# VideoGame.StarWarsBattlefront: Class X in the first game's Galactic Conquest mode, courtesy of the Death Star. Can happen repeatedly until the playing field is nearly barren.
# Creator.WilliamBlake: One hinted at at the end of Milton, which finally happens in Jerusalem. A Class X - 5, bordering on a class Z. But this is a good thing, allowing us to return to our eternal, non-physical states of being. YMMV on how literally this should be interpreted.
# VideoGame.ArmoredCoreVIFiresOfRubicon: All of the major antagonists for the story, save ones like Iguazu or Snail, are all varying degrees of Well-Intentioned Extremists all believing that mankind and its relation with Coral will decide its fate, each intending to utilize the organisms that make it up to either usher in a new era or cleanse the slate, but all are so insanely deterministic in their specific beliefs that they end up becoming as big of a problem as the Corporations themselves.
# Fanfic.FalloutEquestriaProjectHorizons: Hoofington itself was designed as one for the zebra army, and apparently served its purpose right up until the megaspell exchange. Apparently, it's still working. The promise of salvage and wartime technology attracts scavengers and small communities, which are gradually whittled away by Enervation and other dangers of the Hoof. Silverstar Sporting Supplies. The tainted forest surrounding Hippocratic Research.
# Literature.BookOfGenesis: The Great Flood destroys all humanity and all land animals on the planet, except for what is saved on Noah's ark. Class 2 or 4, depending on whether any species were completely wiped out.
# PlayingWith.BrokeYourArmPunchingOutCthulhu: Taking Cthulhu's job seems to be terrible at first, but Bob soon realizes that he can use his new found powers and resources to create a better world and gain everyone's respect. Besides, godlike powers are awesome. Cthulhu's minions try to get revenge over Bob, But he, his friends, and the army soon defeat them with modern weaponry. The Universe seems to be entering in collapse, but it just reforms itself into a new reality without Cthulhu with everyone sound and happy.
# Film.ZackSnydersJusticeLeague: A physical Annihilation on a planetary scale is started by the Unity but not finished because the Flash reversed time to cancel it out and give Cyborg the charge he needed to enter it and destroy it from within. The "Knightmare" sequence shows oppositely but due to Darkseid's success.
# MassEffectAndromeda.TropesAToG: Depressingly common when going off the beaten tracks of the Heleus cluster are worlds that have been ruined beyond repair by the Scourge. The words "atmosphere" and "stripped away" recur often. The destruction of H-047C. According to the Codex's description, debris was warped by the Scourge and had its mass increased dramatically, before it slammed down into the planet. Essentially, the place was Colony Dropped into oblivion. Planet scanning reveals that other gas giants gained their rings the same way, and the asteroid thickets found throughout the cluster are heavily implied to be the remains of Earth-sized or larger planets.
# TheNewOrderLastDaysOfEurope.TropesAToD: It goes without saying that due to this being set in an Axis victory scenario, the game is darker than the main game and other popular mods such as Kaiserreich and Fuhrerreich. Since it's also centered around a Cold War, the hope of conventional warfare ending the Fascist great powers is next to zero, since nukes will be involved. Also quite literally too since the game uses darker colors and filters for its map compared to the other mods and base game.
# Pantheon.MaximumSecurity: Should it be unleashed on the Pantheon in high enough amounts, it would be able to cause around a Class 0 to a Class 2 ApocalypseHow, depending on how much of the gas is used, and how the gas itself is deployed.
# VideoGame.{{Opoona}}: Landfall was hit with a Class 0 over half the planet in the past, with The Corruption soon following.
# Fridge.TheBossBaby: In the Forever Puppy infomercial, it says that Puppy Co. is not responsible for the eventual extinction of babies. Puppies that stay puppies forever vs mortal humans? Uh oh.
# Fanfic.TwilightGetsAPuppy: A few of the timelines the Sparkles visit while stopping Starlight are apocalyptic. The final one they visit (where they traumatize Starlight into stopping) is a Class 2, and nearly a Class 3 for ponies in particular.
# Series.CaptainPowerAndTheSoldiersOfTheFuture: The series starts off at Planetary/Societal Collapse, with isolated pockets of civilization still around. Overmind is aiming to convert humans to robots; given the scope and methods of Project New Order, this would be a Planetary/Species Extinction for all (organic) life.
# Fridge.RalphBreaksTheInternet: This is actually addressed up in Fridge Brilliance. Every time there's a widespread virus outbreak, the companies maintaining the internet's infrastructure harden their own defenses to it and push updates to their partners and end users to make sure they're protected as well. This effectively immunizes most of the internet against the virus; the only systems that can be affected by it are systems that failed to update. So there's no global outage. No societal collapse. No ApocalypseHow.
# Characters.TheLastWitchHunter: She aims to bring about class 3a - complete extinction of the dominant species - Humanity.
# WMG.SiIvaGunner: Inspector Gadget disobeys Haltmann and proceeds to cause the apocalypse. Alternately, Gadget is a pawn of Haltmann or the Voice. Or he's an extended April Fool's joke.
# Music.AnaalNathrakh: Presumably their main lyrical focus. However, this is up to debate since Anaal Nathrakh don't release their lyrics. One thing's for sure, they certainly have the sound.
# Heartwarming.TwistedWonderland: After seeing Vil's magic induced Rapid Aging, Malleus offered to restore Vil to pay back for Vil, Rook, Epel, the other overblotted victims and Yuu for stopping Ortho and Idia's ApocalypseHow plan. Vil's joy at being able to return to his original appearance and being back at Sage Island together with everyone else encapsulates that their long two days of struggle are finally paid off. They've earned their happy ending, at least for now until the Diasomnia chapter starts.Vil's "Kya!~" after being restored to his original age is absolutely adorable, especially coming from someone who is typically so poised.
# Film.TankGirl: Rebecca Buck or Tank Girl explains the back-story. Tank Girl: Listen up, cause I'm only telling you this once. I'm not bedtime story lady, so pay attention. It's 2033. The world is screwed now. You see, a while ago this humongous comet came crashing into the earth. Bam, total devastation. End of the world as we know it. No celebrities, no cable TV, no water. It hasn't rained in 11 years. Now 20 people gotta squeeze inside the same bathtub - so it ain't all bad.
# Anime.Metropolis2001: Class 0. The destruction of the Ziggurat completely wrecks Metropolis, but there's still survivors and they will rebuild. The rest of the world is definitely in a comparatively better shape.
# Film.TheLastWitchHunter: The Witch Queen aims to bring about class 3a - complete extinction of the dominant species - Humanity.
# Recap.BreathOfTheWildChapter12LanayruEastGateAndHyruleField: The Guardians enact a Class 0 localized apocalypse around primarily Hyrule Castle.
# ComicBook.WonderWomanDeadEarth: The apocalypse that destroyed the world is referred to as "The Great Fire", which was the result of Diana — sent into the most furious she's ever been following Themyscira getting completely nuked — delivering the mother of all beatdowns on Superman (as he was indirectly responsible for its fate), which was so superhumanly fast and brutal that not only did it successfully kill him, it ignited the atmosphere, exploding the world.
# Recap.FamilyGuyS9E16TheBigPangTheory: Class X-4. Had Bertram killed Leonardo Da Vinci, Stewie would never be born, thus the whole universe would've been erased.
# Series.{{Alphas}}: Stanton Parrish, having predicted that overpopulation would cause humanity to outstrip Earth's ability to support them in forty years or so, plans to cause a Class 1 to prevent it.
# VideoGame.{{Klonoa}}: While Dream Champ Tournament does have the dark element of the losers of said tournament being turned into gears and forced to power a mechanical empire, it’s still not as dark as, say, the Big Bad trying to summon an Eldritch Abomination to commit a Class X-4 ApocalypseHow.
# Literature.TheLongestJokeInTheWorld: Planetary human extinction, if the lever is pulled.

It's The End of the World as We Know It, and I feel like sticking it in stuff.

When King Allant awakens the Old One again, he hopes to achieve a Class 2 by having the deep fog spread across the whole world, and it’s the players goal to stop that from happening…

# PlayingWith.GodAndSatanAreBothJerks: Both Heaven and Hell are Fates Worse Than Death. Malucia is burning down orphanages while Elysium the Creator just ordered the angels to exterminate every last human. World of Jerkass From Bad to Worse.
# WesternAnimation.KipoAndTheAgeOfWonderbeasts: Whatever event occurred in the 21st century that resulted in planetary and societal disruption, the appearance of huge or otherwise mutated, sapient animals, and forced the remainder of humanity to either live in sheltered underground communities or as lone survivors on the surface is unknown.
# Series.LegendHeroes: Reality (heaven and earth realms) is tied to Royal Seal, which is running out of energy. Without it reality goes poof.
