* RagtagBunchOfMisfits: The setting's portrayal of [[LightNovel/FateApocrypha Yggdmillennia]], which is now an umbrella group of people oppressed and neglected by the norms and conventions of Magi society and willing to strike back. This is [[EnforcedTrope enforced]] by a rule saying that no Yggdmillenia player character can have a Magic Crest higher than C-Rank if they have a Crest at all. They, like the Salem Foundation, are part of the wider Arcadia Network.

In a divergent timeline of Fate/Stay Night where every Grail War since the first not only failed but the Holy Grail ritual has itself been copied all over the world, disaster ensued as the True Grail in Fuyuki vanished, just as a Counterfeit Grail in Pennsylvania was used to summon a monster which can threaten the world. It was later discovered that both Grails, as well as every true and fake version of the Holy Grail which ever existed, had been amalgamated into a 'Grand Grail' whose influence was felt all over the world, allowing Servants to be summoned everywhere on the planet.

* AlternateHistory: Part and parcel for the setting, with China being an Absolute Monarchy under the Qing and the United Kingdom's ruling house naming themselves 'Tudor' instead of Windsor. Oh, and [[Anime/FatePrototype Lucius Tiberius]] was the last Western Roman Emperor instead of Romulus Agustulus.
* AlternateTimeline: One where the Third Holy Grail War in Fuyuki never happened. Also, Noritaka Emiya never messed with Vampirism, Kiritsugu married Shirley and had a daughter (Sachiko Emiya of the Prague Association), and then Noritaka got killed ''anyway'' after causing the IRL Fukushima disaster in 2011, with Kiritsugu himself continuing to live till the present day.

* BeachEpisode: Several, including a Luau of Kings between all the game's monarchs. As of 8/29/2020, there is also a thread where Adam and Eve (who are a Ruler-class Combination Servant in this world), are enjoying a day at a Florida resort.

* CorruptCorporateExecutive: The Arcadia Network, which sought to foster belief in the Supernatural without revealing Magecraft itself by ''turning the Grail War into a Reality TV show''. They failed miserably.

* MagicalSociety: Magic is real in this world, and there are many magus organizations, such as the Clock Tower, Atlas and others. Note that the larger Mages' Association, which in canon governs most Magi, has been split into two coalitions, the Arcadia Network (which includes the Salem Foundation, Sea of Estray/Wandering Sea, and Yggdmillenia) and the Sangreal Crusade (Atlas Academy, Clock Tower, and Demon Hunters' Organization).

* ThereCanBeOnlyOne: The objective of the Global Holy Grail War is to make sure there is only one Master or Servant pair to make a wish on the Greater Grail.
