The action is organized into arcs. The following day, Brook is summoned by the Nogi Group's CEO, [[Manga/{{Hellsing}} Alucard]], who introduces him to the world of the suKengan Association matches: a place where wealthy business owners, corporation leaders and merchants hire gladiators to fight in unarmed combat where the winner takes all. With Brook being reacquainted with Ban, the latter of whom has become the Nogi Group's latest fighter, the two's journey into the Kengan world begins. Several bouts into Ban's careers, the eccentric leader of the Kengan Association [[Manga/FullMetalAlchemist King Bradley]] announces his desire to see things shaken up in the organization- by hosting a tournament of the best fighters in the business, with the winner being given anything they want and the CEO they represent being given chairman position in the organization. Brook and Ban are entered on behalf of Alucard, and so begins a long-running Tournament Arc that sees Ban's shady past slowly be brought to light.

* ''Anime/MarvelAnimeBlade'': The story follows [[VideoGame/MetalGearSolid Solid Snake]] as he tracks [[Manga/BlackLagoon Dutch]] through modern day Southeast Asia, where he runs into Frost's underground society of vampires, Existence. Making both new allies and enemies along the way, Blade soon discovers a vampire plot in Vietnam that could change the world for the worse.

Schools aren't tolerant of gangs and people of dangerous backgrounds, so Maria's relationship to her yakuza family must remain a secret. Unfortunately for her, there is one extremely smart and disgruntled Bishōnen in her class full of idiots, [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamSeedDestiny Shinn Asuka]]. He sees through her very poor cover-up and realizes that she is an Action Girl. His demands for a fight are mocked by Kumiko, after which Shinn's respect and passing interest only grows. Throughout the rest of the series, Maria wins over her originally mistrustful students and improves their lives for the better. Shinn quickly learns of her Yakuza background, ends up on friendly terms with her family, and is neck-deep in gang-related troubles over and over again. Maria remains oblivious to his feelings towards her while she focuses her own attentions on yakuza lawyer [[Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann Kamina]], even though many others in the series have noticed Shinn's feelings and are actively trying to help him. [[VideoGame/{{Tekken}} Jinpachi Mishima]] is Maria's Grandfather also yakuza boss, and [[Anime/CodeGeass Charles zi Britannia]] is the young yakuza boss.
