By the effect of Brave-Eyes on its summon, all other monsters on the field are sapped to 0 ATK, and it gains 100 ATK for each of them, to 3300. Brave-Eyes attacks Dystopiaguy. Edo thinks back to how Yusho spoke of opening your heart to enjoy a duel, and activates his Trap "D-Soul" along with Demise Urban. D-Soul banishes a Destiny Hero in the Graveyard to grant its ATK to Dystopiaguy, and in tandem with D-Soul it rises back to 1700 ATK. As Yuya is using Fusion against him, Edo declares he will use Yuya's card against him in return. He activates the Action card "Bi-Attack," double the ATK of his battling monster to 3400. As Edo tells him his skills have hit their limit, Yuya finds the Action card "Miracle Fire" to copy the effect of Edo's Action card. The 6600 ATK Brave-Eyes destroys Dystopiaguy, and in a burst of fireworks from its attack, Edo loses.

Edo, laying on the ground, muses over losing to an Entermate Duelist again, and smiles.

Believing in the power of the Dueling he inherited from his father, Yuya stands against Edo. As Edo watches Yuya Dueling, he recalls the memories of his Duel against Yusho. Can Yuya and Edo connect their hearts through Dueling despite their conflicting emotions toward “Smile World”!?

to:

Believing With Yuya's field empty, Edo declares a direct attack with "Destiny HERO - Dystopiaguy." Yuya runs for an Action Card and grabs one despite Edo's efforts to stop him; it's "Evasion," negating the attack. Edo ends his turn, and the Tyler Sisters must the threat of his Dystopiaguy and "Demise Urban" combo remains; Edo can increase Dystopiaguy's attack at will, triggering its effect to destroy an opponent's monster when he does. Yuto tells Yuya that that combo only works once per turn, so attacking with multiple monsters could overcome it, but Yuya is still adamant on finding a way to open Edo's heart with his dueling, believing that his father succeeded even if Edo will not admit it. He holds up his pendulum pendant and tells Edo his heart is like the pendulum; he's torn between the Professor's beliefs and what Yusho believes.

Yuya Pendulum Summons "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" and "Entermate Dag Daggerman" and tributes them to Tribute Summon "Entermate Laughmaker" with 2500 ATK. Laughmaker attacks Dystopiaguy, and Edo uses the effect of Demise Urban to boost Dystopiaguy's ATK to 3000. In response Yuya activates Laughmaker's effect, increasing its ATK by 1000 since the ATK of another monster on the field changed. Edo activates the effect of Dystopiaguy to destroy Laughmaker, but Yuya activates his Trap "Counterattack Entermate" to negate the destruction and destroy Dystopiaguy. Edo destroys "Delay Armor" equipped to Dystopiaguy to negate its destruction this turn. Yuya's attack hits and Edo falls to 3100 Life Points. At the end of Yuya's turn Laughmaker's ATK returns to normal.

Edo angrily asks why Yuya is smiling, and Yuya says it's fun to duel like this with repeated reversals. Edo says the point of dueling is to win, not to have fun, and Yuya counters his goal is not to win but to understand Edo's heart. Edo flashes back to his duel with Yusho, where a direct attack from Dystopiaguy knocked him back and injured Yusho's leg. Edo demands Yusho admit Academia's teachings are correct, or fight back if he wants to defeat them, but Yusho says that instead of fighting back, he will make Edo enjoy the duel. Edo is confused at the idea of a duel being fun, as the point of dueling is power and self-improvement. Yusho stands and activates "Smile World," saying he will change Academia's heart and forgive them, the true way to end conflict. He summons his ace monster "Sky Magician" and takes flight on it, creating fireworks as he declares the point of dueling is fun, not war. Edo simply stares in awe at the spectacle.

Edo tells Yuya what Yusho said and reiterates that he cannot accept such thinking. Dystopiaguy attacks and destroys Laughmaker, taking Yuya to 100 Life Points. Edo sets a card and ends his turn. He calls on Yuya to fight back, but Yuya thinks that answering attacks with attacks will never end the conflict. He draws Smile World and feels he and his father think the same way. Calling out "ladies and gentlemen," Yuya activates the Magic card "Scale Up" to increase the Pendulum Scale of "Timegazer Magician" in his Pendulum Zone by 2, to 10. Yuya Pendulum Summons Odd-Eyes Dag Daggerman, and Laughmaker back to the field. Yuya then activates "Entermate Exchange" to target an Entermate monster he controls and give control of all lower-level monsters he controls to his opponent. Laughmaker is Level 8, so Dag Daggerman and Odd-Eyes shift to Edo's control.

As Edo grows more furious with Yuya's showboating, he activates Smile World. The ATK of all monsters increases by 100 for each monster on the field, a total of 400. The effect of Laughmaker also activates, giving it 1000 more ATK for each monster that gained ATK. Edo's monsters laugh and their laughter powers up Laughmaker to 6900 ATK. Edo uses Dystopiaguy's effect to destroy Laughmaker, and Yuya runs for an Action card, using the chain Edo has bound him with to swing towards it. Edo uses the effect of "Wire Mesh - Chain Deathmatch" to discard a card and destroy it, causing the chain to break. Yuya misses the Action card and Edo catches it. Yuya activates Laughmaker's effect on its destruction to Special Summon a monster in his Graveyard. He revives "Brave-Eyes Pendulum Dragon," telling Edo that to speak to a Fusion user, he must he a Fusion monster.
