** Dorothy's worries over not being able to succeed as an actress at her age, where the only roles she can find include "overworked mom" and "kooky aunt" (where she'd have to gain twenty pounds), is a clear shot at Hollywood's ageist treatment of actresses.

Jimmy startles Gretchen awake, announcing that he has written fifty-six pages of his novel, so as to disprove Gretchen's concerns about his inability to succeed. She's glad to see it and asks Jimmy if he's willing to take back what he said about her back at Shitstain's wedding. He refuses, stating that his worries about her having children are based on the fact that she has dropped every phone she has had. Gretchen is angered by this and the argument escalates.

Meanwhile, Edgar and Dorothy start arguing about why he got the job with Doug Benson, which isn't helped when Dorothy makes an insensitive remark about Edgar only being hired for being Latino while Edgar brushes off her own issues, stating her being a white woman gives her more privileges. Edgar accuses Dorothy of only liking him when he's struggling and unsuccessful, causing her to tearfully admit that she's jealous of him for having become successful while she's been struggling for years and has little to show for it. Edgar tries to reassure her that she's just having a rough patch, but Dorothy isn't convinced she can bounce back from this.

Latino. Edgar accuses Dorothy of only liking him when he's struggling and unsuccessful, causing her to tearfully admit that she's jealous of him for having become successful how far he's gotten in such a short amount of time while she's been working in comedy for years struggling for years to get a break and has little nothing to show for it. "bounce back", much less succeed, especially at her age.

Paul then arrives and starts arguing with Lindsay. Jimmy sends them to his room so he can argue with Gretchen. Paul is enraged that Lindsay got an abortion and has a hard emotional meltdown as he calls her out on being a horrible wife. Lindsay sadly but simply retorts that he knew what kind of person she was from the start and shouldn't be shocked at what he had gotten.

Tensions mount with the three couples until they all get a text announcing the birth of Vernon and Becca's daughter, Tallulah.

Gradually things calm down, but little is resolved. Edgar gets a call to join Doug's writers' meeting, but decides to lie to Dorothy about it. Lindsay and Paul come to realize that they were completely incompatible with each other and made a mistake in marrying one another. When she asks Paul if he'll disregard their prenup, Paul venomously tells her she'd better "lawyer up". Meanwhile, Jimmy reads his unfinished novel to Gretchen, who loves it, but both realize they haven't fixed their relationship. He collapses against her from lack of sleep. She picks up her phone to check something, but drops it.

!!Tropes
* EasilyForgiven: Paul averts this with extreme prejudice - he acknowledges that he let his shallow attraction to Lindsay and his desire for a family blind him to the numerous signs that they were completely wrong for each other but he's not going to let her off the hook for marrying him simply for his money, stabbing him and cheating on him.
* GreenEyedMonster: Dorothy is jealous of Edgar for managing to get a great comedy job with Doug Benson while she's been struggling to get decent work as an actress for years and has nothing to show for it.
* ShoutOut: Lindsay quotes Music/{{Beyonce}}'s ''Lemonade'' album.
* TakeThat: Gretchen and by extension, the writers, do not think highly of sexist Gamergaters that use "video game journalism ethics" as a smokescreen for harassing women.
* ThisIsForEmphasisBitch: When Lindsay asks Paul if he'll get rid of their prenup, this is his response:
-->"You stabbed me, you cuckolded me, and you ruined my life. Better lawyer up, '''''bitch'''''."
* WriteWhatYouKnow: The main characters of Jimmy's novel are based on his and Gretchen's relationship.
