* WhereDoesHeGetThoseWonderfulToys?: It's briefly explained early in the episode that Sir Jeremy helped IR obtain and manufacture some of the Thunderbird components in secret, thus somewhat explaining how the fleet can exist without access to a full industrial complex (Spin off materials would later confirm the T-Birds underwent final assembly on Tracy Island itself).

* CoolSpaceship: The episode opens with the launch of the Sun Probe, with its fascinating profile and gorgeous Zeerust aesthetic. We also learn that its fuel is derived purely from water, and while the rocket itself is not seen outside of the opening sequence, the rest of the episode revolves around the top-secret formula for making the fuel.Any high-school Chemistry student can tell you that elemental hydrogen and oxygen are made by simple electrolysis of water, and these were being used as rocket fuel even in the 1960s when Thunderbirds was filmed. We therefore have to assume that this fuel is something rather more exotic and, presumably, powerful

* CoolTrain: The second half of the episode is dominated by "monotrains", which are suspended from a single rail and can reach very high speeds. The interior is suitably luxurious, and the exterior looks very sleek indeed.

* EarlyBirdCameo: The opening features the launch of the Sun Probe Sun Probe craft, long before its proper appearance in the Episode episode of the same name.Bizarrely, this episode was filmed after the Sun Probe episode, so it's inclusion was intended to be more of a throwback to an old rescue to reward attentive viewers. As this episode aired long before Sun Probe, however, the effect is lost and the rocket launch becomes an odd opener for the rest of the very much ground-based adventure.

* AwesomeButImpractical: Those monotrains look mighty fine and go mighty fast. But the way they sway while in motion -- and especially after going round a corner -- makes you wonder how anything stays upright on the inside and why the passengers aren't vomiting.
