Slimer is looking at food ads with a telescope one night, when something flies through the air and crashes into the firehouse. Then, an alien appears and starts taking pictures. Slimer asks him what "the big idea" is and the alien replies that he's sightseeing and takes Slimer by the hand. Slimer, however, refuses to accompany the alien, so he walks off crying.
Slimer is about to clean up the mess, when he sees the alien crossing the street while the traffic is busy (since he doesn't know how to cross). Slimer scoops up the alien and explains how traffic lights work, then decides he'd better keep an eye on him.
The alien runs off with Slimer following, but then another spaceship lands on the firehouse roof. A robot exits, picks up the first spaceship, and breaks it. Then, when the robot sees Slimer and the alien, it gets angry and gives chase. The alien, meanwhile, is exploring a construction site, with the robot chasing him, and Slimer following to make sure the alien doesn't obliviously walk off a ledge.
Slimer and the alien enter the Central Park Zoo, where the alien tries to photograph a crocodile. Unfortunately, the crocodile tries to eat the alien, who obliviously walks right down its throat. The robot, meanwhile, is continuing to chase after the alien and nearly gets eaten by the crocodile too, but it thinks the robot tastes bad and spits it out.
Slimer and the alien go back to the roof and find the alien's broken spaceship. The robot arrives, fixes the alien's camera, tows his spaceship, and sends him home.
