A woman named Miss Nuxom is being interviewed in the local museum, regarding some carved stones called the "Moaning Stones of Tangalla", that make a whining noise when struck. Nuxom explains that the stones used to belong to an empire called the Ibandi, and wants to connect them together despite a warning not to. An old lady watching the show is terrified, since she thinks this will resurrect the "Undying One". When Nuxom holds up a medallion with a picture of a man on it, the old lady sees Winston in the news and discovers Winston resembles the guy on the medallion.

Peter has gotten a synthesiser, but is bad at playing it. Janine then introduces them to the old woman, whose name is Dahlia. Dahlia claims Winston is the reincarnation of "Shimabuku", who Ray explains was a chieftain in the Ibandi empire. Dahlia then explains that 6,000 years ago, the Ibandi were ruled by a demon called the Undying One, and Winston reveals he knows the story already. He adds that the Undying One was attacked by gods during a war and won, but was tired, allowing Shimabuku to bind him. He reveals that his grandmother told him the story, but he never believed it, but she says he has to, since the Undying One was bound in the stones, and if he wakes up, the gods will die, the dead will rise, and humans will be wiped out. When question, Dahlia reveals she's a priestess of Santeria, but no longer has powers due to her age, and that Winston is the only one who can defeat the Undying One due to being the descendant of Shimabuku.

The Ghostbusters, Janine, and Dahlia arrive at the museum, as the pieces are united and a dinosaur skeleton comes alive. They encounter more living skeletons, who reassemble once shot. Egon scans them and finds the Undying One is a "coherent vibration", so he takes them to the sound room and try to destroy them with sound, but it doesn't work. Meanwhile, Dahlia is trying unconvincingly to get Winston to "believe". They try Peter's song, and this does destroy the skeletons, but not the Undying One himself.

Winston reveals he's the descendant of Shimabuku, causing the Undying One to appear in his corporeal form. Winston tries to bind the Undying One, but it doesn't work, so the others form a circle around him, which turns him to take the form of Shimabuku. This succeeds in binding the Undying One, and Egon separates the stones again. Peter tries to play his music again, but even the dogs hate it.

------
* AllMythsAreTrue: The story Winston was told as a kid by his grandmother about Shimabuku turns out to be true.
* ArbitrarySkepticism: Played for horror -- Winston doesn't believe in the legend of Shimbuku despite having dealt with the supernatural lots of times before, and the Undying One requires belief to defeat.
* BigNo: The Undying One yells, "NO!" as he's being bound.
* ChekhovsSkill: Inverted -- the Ghostbusters use Peter's previously-introduced ''lack'' of skill at music to destroy the skeletons.
* ClapYourHandsIfYouBelieve: The binding ritual needs belief that it will work in order to work.
* ConformingOOCMoment: Egon joins in on the MassOhCrap when it turns out the music didn't kill the Undying One.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Winston gets the most focus in the episode.
* DemBones: Invoked when the Undying One brings skeletons to life.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: Justified since the binding ritual includes yelling at the Undying One.
* DreadfulMusician: Peter's song is hated by everyone, even dogs and Slimer, and destroys the skeletons.
* EasterBunny: Discussed when Peter says that belief is easy, since kids believe in Santa and the Easter Bunny.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: At the beginning, Peter plays music badly. Later on, the Ghostbusters try using his bad music on the skeletons.
* HopeSpot: Peter's bad music kills the skeletons... but not the Undying One.
* ICantLookGesture: Ray covers his eyes when he's scared of the skeletons.
* {{Immortality}}: As his name suggests, the Undying One can't be killed; just put into stasis.
* InevitablyBrokenRule: There was a warning not to separate the stones, but Nuxom does.
* MassOhCrap: The Ghostbusters all gape in fear when it turns out the music didn't destroy the Undying One.
* MeaningfulName: The Undying One is an immortal demon.
* NoSell:
** The skeletons just reassemble when shot with proton packs.
** The Undying One isn't killed by the music despite its destroying the skeletons.
* NotSoStoic: Egon gapes along with his friends when it turns out the Undying One wasn't destroyed.
* OhCrap: Ray gapes when he first sees the skeletons.
* RaceNameBasis: The Undying One calls Winston "human".

* SantaClaus: Discussed when Peter says belief is easy, since kids believe in Santa Claus (and also the Easter Bunny).

* SkewedPriorities: Lampshaded when Peter is bemused at Ray being more concerned with his favourite artworks being destroyed than defeating the Undying One.
* {{Slapstick}}: When Peter sends out a blast of sound on his synthesiser, the Ghostbusters fall onto one another.
* SpellMyNameWithAThe: The main villain is ''the'' Undying One.
* TemptingFate: The Ghostbusters say that dealing with the Undying One will be easy, but it's not.
* ThemeMusicPowerUp: The Undying One is bound while the theme tune plays in the background.
