** Edric and Emira bring Amity's lunch in a very childish and pink bag, claiming that it was sent by their mom. One would think that Odalia is an s, who ruins Amity's attempts to look cold and stoic, while that is as far from the truth as possible.
** Edric and Emira were straight up bullies towards Amity in this episode. Later episodes portray them as more supportive to her, and their mischievous behavior is less mean-spirited.

* FallGuy: When Amity accuses Luz of reading her diary, Edric and Emira do nothing to correct this and allow Luz to take all the blame.

* ForgotAboutHerPowers: When Otabin captures Luz and is about to sew her into a book, the newly-free Amity rams him with a book cart rather than summon an abomination like in "Covention". Possibly justified in that it was a high-stress situation and/or that magic could have easily caused great collateral damage to the library--where Amity volunteers.

* DisproportionateRetribution: Edric and Emira are tired of their prissy younger sister Amity frequently ruining their fun and tattling on them for skipping class...so they plan to teach her a lesson by publishing the contents of her diary to the entire school. Notably, upon hearing this, Luz--who was previously going along with what the twins wanted in an effort to be cool and liked--immediately calls this out as going way too far, states that nobody deserves such a thing, and refuses to take part in it.

* AnAesop: Being a library-centered episode, we naturally get two variations on "don't judge a book by its cover".
** Luz and Amity initially both see each other as a pest and a mean bully respectively due to their negative first impressions of each other, but then learn that they are actually better people than that and are even prospective friends who are more similar than they seem and can help each other grow.
** Edric and Emira initially seem to be cool people whom Luz can safely consider friends, especially considering their attitudes are more likable and less antagonistic than their younger sister Amity's. As it turns out, they actually are mean bullies who think nothing of the consequences of their behavior, even when it negatively impacts their "friend" Luz.
*** It also gives a couple on establishing friendships and the effort putting into them, with Luz trying too hard with BefriendingTheEnemy and Amity (despite her claim) barely trying at all, constantly being mean to Luz and labeling her instead of actually talking to her to get to know her as a person.
