Now armed with the cure, the crew of the ''USS Nathan James'' heads back to the US to see if there's any remaining infrastructure where they can start mass production. They make contact with Mrs. Granderson, LTJG Aisha Granderson's mother, formerly a high-ranking official within the US government, and learn that parts of Baltimore have been turned into a safe haven from what's come to be known as the "Red Flu".
Chandler, meanwhile, is anxious to try and find his family, not knowing if they're still alive or not.
